We've brought our pets to Dr. Woodley since we moved here in '88. So knowledgeable, no scare tactics, no unnecessary treatment, good honest people. Wish they were open 24/7 but that's asking too much. Highly recommend them.

Dr. Woodley and his staff have always been accommodating and caring for Stacey Mayne's health. Dr. woodley will continue to be our vet. He took care of our Old Duke until him crossing the rainbow bridge.

Still go to First Colony. Even after moving 60 miles away. Wouldn't be happy with anyone else for my three dogs.

First colony vet has been my go to place since I got my dog, Mj. Dr. Woodley is amazing and very professional. Everyone in the office is really courteous and friendly. I would definitely recommend FCV.

Just moved here and I Called in regards to see if they were taking new clients but I’m glad I didn’t pursue because the way the phone was answered and how she cut me off before I could even ask is beyond me but a blessing in disguise‼️ Saved me money and time, don’t know if they are or aren’t but I can careless because 1st impressions matter. Maybe she was having a bad day not sure but it’s a no for me.

We have been going here for our cats' veterinary care for 20+ years. Their experience, service, and compassion cannot be compared. They will take excellent care of all your animal family throughout their lives.

My parents began taking our dogs to Dr. Woodley before I was born. We have spent thousands of dollars at his clinic caring for our multiple dogs and trusted him whole heartedly. Fast-forward 26 years and I have a dog of my own, live in Houston, but opted to go to Sugar Land for most vet visits for Dr. Woodley to care for my dog. After a few days of my dog having an upset stomach and having what I determined to be a somewhat emergent situation arise, I called to schedule an appointment with Dr. Woodley for the same day and was told he had an opening in the afternoon. An hour later, I got a call from Dr. Woodley himself who told me that he was slowing down and didn’t want to stay late in the day, so I needed to find a doctor closer to town and he would not see me- even though he had the open appointment. He then hung up on me. I am writing this as I have spent over 5 hours waiting at an emergency vet to see my dog because every other vet clinic I tried to contact couldn’t take my dog.

We have taken our dog to Dr. Woodley for 3 years. We recently got his shots done at a different clinic because our dog does much better with female vets. I told this to Dr. Woodley and he said, "I'm 71, i'm moving slower. Do me a favor and pick a vet". My dog has had ear infections for years. Dr. Woodley said that the only way I could get rid of them was to "move north". I find this hard to believe. When I tried to understand his plan of treatment, he was irritated with my questions and totally lacked empathy. He was rude answering my questions and if he's so concerned with his age, maybe it's time to retire. Other recent reviews are indicating similar interactions. The ladies up front were nice and helpful. I told them I wasn't happy and they apologized.

The vet is not professional at all and refused to listen to anything we said. Extremely uncomfortable experience.

My husband just took our sick dog to see Dr. Woodley. We had been going there for years, but moved away. The last shots our dogs had were through a mobile vet because prices were very reasonable and it was convenient for us as I don’t drive and we are on a fixed income. Dr. Woodley told my husband “if you can get the easy stuff done in the parking lot, you can get the hard stuff done in the parking lot” and refused to see my sick dog. I am very upset and very disappointed at the moment. I am at a loss of words.

I've been taking my pets here for over 18 years, they are easy to get appointments, and very reliable in their care of animals. Dr. Woodley has been a great Vet for all my pets over the years.

Dr. Woodley is the best. I trust his common sense care and he has always been there for my fur-baby. I highly recommend First Colony.

They ripped off my wife by refusing to prescribe heartworm prevention medication for my dog. But they were okay to sell it at a high mark up. $130 for heartworm medication really! They also remember to throw in a bunch of unnecessary tests of course.

We have three dogs, all rescues. This vet was wonderful at first, couldn't be happier. Experienced, friendly and felt welcomed. Our oldest dog has had recent health issues (hiding in bushes, rubbing her ear) and my daughter has called the office over the past couple of weeks. She was disregarded by the front desk and the vet himself "you just brought her in". As pet owners, you know your dogs and when something is wrong. To have that disregarded is heartbreaking for YOUR PET. We opted to take Luna to another vet and it turns out she has dementia, cataracts and so much ear wax the new vet could not even see in her ear. I have called the office to speak to the vet and the office manager to let them know and that we will not be returning. We will see if I get a call back and if we do, I will update this note.

Thanks for providing excellent care of Easy from his days as a puppy until it was time for my parents to say goodbye to him. We miss him, but we know he’s in a better place.

Ruby and Rosy receive loving care. Their “parents” are given helpful information in how to best care for them for them to grow up healthy. All of the staff are very welcoming. We love the app which helps us keep all important information in one place as well as making contact easy and quick for appointments and any emergencies that may arise!

The First Colony team always takes great care of my pups. We have been with them for over 16 years. Dr. Jessie has been a fantastic addition to the team.

My sister graciously took my 13 year old corgi mix Mochi to an appointment for me to address allergies she had been having on her legs. Dr. Jesse did a thorough exam and diagnosed her with bladder stones which had been causing her urinary incontinence that required surgical removal. She was very professional and showed such a caring attitude. She had me on speakerphone to communicate the plan of care - which included finding a cost effective way for labs. My Mochi with such a calming demeanor never showed any indication of pain which surprised our whole family to know she had been carrying these stones. What was just an appointment to find a solution for allergies ended up being a vital appointment that prolonged Mochi‘s quality of life (for our senior dog). I’m forever grateful. Thank you to the wonderful staff for caring for Mochi. Our family has been coming to First Colony Veterinary Clinic for years for our family pets. We love our doctors.

This is hands down the best vet clinic in the area. I was getting very frustrated with the last vet clinic we went to. I was afraid to ever take my dog in because even going in for something minor ended up costing $300 or more every single time and I felt like they were just trying to make money and not truly caring about my dog. I love the staff here at First Colony. They are super friendly, caring, and realistic (and non-pushy) about the care your pet needs. Very easy to get appointments and board as well. Highly recommend!!!
