I'm writing this as a former employee. I wish I could still be part of this amazing place! I absolutely adore the veterinarians, the staff of all departments and the owner! These people truly love animals and it shows! Each one of them love and spoil your fur baby beyond belief! Even the not so easy patients lol???? They have excellent facilities and equipment for veterinary care and boarding. I would never have even had to be a former employee if my body wasn't so torn up from previous injury and could have handled the physical part of the job. I would recommend these folks to everyone! They will care for your fur baby like it was their own!

Towne South Staff and Doctors are dedicated to their clients by providing a friendly and professional atmosphere. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

I really like taking my pet "Betty" to town south. all the people there are so kind to the pets.

We absolutely love the staff here and how they treat our animals and us. And they try very hard to be a reasonably priced as possible

I don't think we could have better experiences with any other animal hospital or vet than we do TSAH. I recommend Dr. Mackey and Dr. Hunter every chance I get. I cannot say enough good things about the doctors and the entire team. This team is THE BEST ever!! Miska loves the team too! <3

I love the people here! The doctors are amazing and take such good care of not just my pets, but me too!! They call with updates and keep me informed! Best surgeons around!

Can't complain about anything when we go. We have a timid dog who has come out of her shell more and more with each visit which is great. She used to growl at every new person she would meet but now she doesn't do that anymore, and I know its because of the great staff.

My dog was sick and an appt was immediately available even though we had not been there before. They were very friendly, thorough, and professional.

Wonderful care from all staff. Very clean and nice facility. Vet stayed to answer all questions and discuss in detail all concerns.

My cat has needed extra care and attention for several weeks including overnight stays. The staff have been wonderful. Diagnosis swift and treatment excellent. Appointments not rushed and full explanations of diagnosis and treatment given. I highly recommend this veterinary practice.

Boarded my 9 month old puppy for 3 nights. Was told he would have to get a K9 flu shot and there was be a "discounted" exam. Had to pay the the boarding fee upfront and was told I would only owe $35 more upon pickup. Well apparently they sneak in a flea treatment of $14.50 (my dog is already on flea/tick pills) and a bio-hazard fee, Ended up paying $166 for 3 nights. Around $80 was extra BS just for them to make extra money. If they would have been up-front which the charges I wouldn't even be writing this review. If they are dishonest about sneaking in fees, no telling how they treat the animals.

Loved this place everyone was fantastic

I take my three dogs to see Dr. Mackie. She obviously loves what she does. Dr. Mackie. She is compassionate, friendly and knowledgeable. I will always bring by pets to see the doctor.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE…Many of my family and friends have taken their dogs here for years and now I know EXACTLY why they no longer do. I have taken two of my past dogs here since 2005 and here is my most recent experience. They will try to sell you everything they possibly can, there is NO customer service here (in fact they could care less). After taking my dog here today for a skin issue the vet tech presented a combination of over five different things that the dog needed. All of this was IN ADDITION to what he would need to treat his skin issue. I declined all the suggested items as I was there for the skin issue ONLY. I was asked to sign a waiver to decline the additions. I agreed to sign the waiver. Once the vet tech left the room what appeared to be an office manager entered the room. I was greeted with “UM, WE ARE GOING TO NEED A LEGIT SIGNATURE”. This was absolutely flooring and embracing. I presented my ID and showed her that the signature I had signed was indeed my signature (I have purchased multiple homes and vehicles and never had anybody question my signature or identity). She left the room without any apologies after forcing me to write my name on the form next to the signature she was questioning. Soon after the vet, April Mackey, entered the room. She asked how I was doing today. I let her know I was unhappy about the way the previous employee addressed me regarding my signature on a waiver and she responded with “we don’t play that game, your signature must be you”. I advised her that I was considering walking out the hospital. She then responded with “I DON’T LIKE YOUR TONE, YOU CAN JUST LEAVE, YOU CAN LEAVE RIGHT NOW. I DON’T HAVE TO HELP YOU. IN FACT YOU HAVE ONLY BEEN HERE TWICE AND I HAVEN’T SEEN YOU IN SIX YEARS”. Ok, so as I previously stated I have been going there since 2005 with multiple dogs. I think the comments from the tech questioning my signature and the vet (April Mackey) speak for themselves. This is NOT how you treat paying customers. I will not be back. I am very surprised that nearby University Veterinary Hospital has not shut this place down. Another customer lost.

Towne South is thorough and takes great of our English Bulldogs. I appreciate that they are direct in what care is needed and they are transparent about cost in advance. Great vets and team!!!

I have been seeing Dr. April Mackey at Towne South for the last 7 years. She and her staff are incredible, and they treat my pets like their own. Every time I bring my two cats in, the techs love on them, calm them, and treat them gently, which helps them be less anxious. I am always given a thorough report card with all their health issues, and while recommendations are made, I am never pushed to spend money on things that are unnecessary. For instance, one of my cat has a little tartar on her teeth, but Dr. Mackey said she was totally safe to wait a bit to clean them since that is not in my budget this visit. Dr. Mackey and her staff truly have my pets’ best interests at heart, and I trust them with my cats’ health and lives. I highly recommend Dr. Mackey and Towne South to anyone looking for any amazing vet experience!

Dr. Mackey and Dr. Hunter have always gone above and beyond to make sure that our fur baby is comfortable and well taken care of. They have taken time to explain all procedures, conditions, and complications that could potentially occur at any of our visits. Aside from the phenomenal patient care that they provide, they also go the extra mile to show so much love and kindness to our animals. I could not imagine taking our loved ones to another vet. They truly do love what they do and it shows. Highly recommend!

I love this place ! They love my pups , so I love them !! They always work them in when needed care . Every last employee they have go over and above . The Vets are both awesome and they love all fur babies !! ????????

I travel 40 minutes past 5 or more different vets to bring in my dogs and cats to these great people! They not only truly care about your babies, but also they are open and available in short notice. Most of the time when I need a vet it's short notice. Lol

I traveled across town with my blind senior dog to another vet's office who (once I dragged said blind dog in) said that their vet left early despite me calling before I came. I called Towne South and they managed to get me in 10 minutes later, did not treat me poorly when Cosmo refused to take a single willing step as we dragged his 84 lb butt back there, they trimmed his nails and told me how well he behaved. Everyone was so kind to me, no one judged the condition of his nails, they diagnosed his ear problems, didn't force any unnecessary services on me, and the prices were fair. The service was top notch and I will be taking all 4 of my furbabies there from now on. Thank y'all for taking care of him and for being compassionate.

Dr. Hunter is by far, hands down the best Vet. I've taken and still take my dogs, cats and bunnies there. She has treated and cured every single one of my pets, without a questionable doubt. The 45 min drive is worth it everytime!!!!!

I called on a Thursday and they were able to accommodate my guinea pig on Friday afternoon. As anyone with a small pet knows, that isn't often easy. The staff was knowledgeable and the visit was quick and painless. Now, if only they could help me catch the pig that hates me twice a day for her meds! lol I will definitely recommend

Boarding and get service is great.

Being nervous about my rescue dog Dr Mackey assessed and managed the situation perfectly and calmed my nerves. All Town South staff are professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. Thank you atown South Animal Hospital.

I have never been to a Vet. Clinic with the most rude, uptight women especially the Veterinarians, the CSR's also were rude and had an attitiude. Heather is the worst, the best employee they had was a sweet girl that no longer works there, Andy or Amanda? She was wonderful! I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I want to thank Dr Hunter and Dr Mackey and all of the techs and staff at Town South animal clinic, for quick diagnosis and stabilized care, and sending her for Immediate surgery at the Animal Emergency Clinic and the continued aftercare of our Dakota. Your kindness and care is deeply appreciated.

This Animal Hospital was recommended to us by a friend because we needed kennel accommodations while evacuating for Hurricane Laura. I can’t say enough about how kind and attentive the whole staff is. Every person I spoke to was beyond sweet and helpful. Thank you for making a very stressful situation easier by taking care of Petey and Cooper!
