Great! I was even offered to look into the microscope and reference material for a parasite he found! Very professional and the knowledge he has alone is totally worth it. We were there for about an hour and it went by very quickly; He is very quick in all mannerisms, good Doc!

I rescued a 4week old chihuahua at 8 weeks she was dying of worms. The hospital is very expensive so I called everyone vet near me to make an appointment. Everyone was over booked or didn't take walk -ins . I called culebra north animal center and they where able to take me quickly. My puppy left that office jumping and playing like nothing happened. She pooped all the worms out that same day with the medication the doctor gave her. I was very happy he was able to save my puppy. His wife also helps out they are very friendly.

We have been dealing with Dr.Wendel for about 28 years. He is straight forward and cares for every animal that comes in. We like the fact he pulls no punches and puts the animal’s quality of life first. (That’s why you came, because you wanted a direct answer.) Pat, the receptionist is just simply outstanding. It has been my honor, and luck, that we found Dr. Wendell when we did. He explains everything in simple and understandable terms. On the high light - we are both grads of Texas A&M University, College Station. Great human being and fantastic Vet. I highly recommend you bring your pet to his office on Culebra. You will be amazed how you become “part of his family.” Thanks Jerry, for all these years.

I can't say how pleased we are to have a doctor who is very knowledgeable, and honest. He works with his wife, and you can tell they truly try to recommend anything that is good (and the best) for your pet. Sometimes his recommendation means getting a service elsewhere, or doing something at home. I remember we needed to get a heartworm test, and my dog was scheduled to be neutered. Instead of him drawing blood in that same visit, he recommended blood be drawn from my small 8lb dog when he was under anesthesia, to make things easier on my dog. In another occasion, my other dog had some type of allergic reaction/itchy skin, and he recommended some apecific dog food and shampoo I could buy at HEB, and after a month next time my dog was groomed my groomer used the recommended shampoo, and I could see improvements week after week. When doing both things. All to say, he is a very wise and knowledgeable doctor, and would recommend him in a heartbeat.

Excellent service! They have been in business around 40 years and the experience shows. Got 2 key vaccines for our cat for $68 and great advice on caring for cats. Vet has great demeanor and care for animals. Will be coming here for any other necessary vaccines, check ups, or procedures for our cat.
