The Ark Pet Hospital San Antonio, Texas

Allow me to preface this review in stating that out of all the veterinary hospitals in San Antonio and the surrounding area which practice aviary care, this was the only one who could accept my bird for an emergency appointment, and I am grateful beyond words. My blue budgie Blue Jean had broken a blood feather on December 8, and had already bled a substantial amount before we finally were able to get him in to see a vet. Immediately, we were met with an abundance of kindness and compassion, especially for the emergency appointment that it was. The administrators welcomed us with smiles, and the veterinary tech handled and spoke to my bird with such care. Dr. Hubenak treated little Blue with the utmost gentleness, and my bird didn't even make a peep when he pulled the feather shaft. At the end of the day, it was probably the most fulfilling experience we could have had, given the emergency circumstances. I was incredibly pleased to receive a follow-up call the next day, asking how my bird was doing and referring to him by name. Of course, he has basically made a full recovery. Thank you, Ark SA. I know exactly where I will be bringing Blue and my other budgie Bubbles for their next appointments!

I am so happy we found the Ark . Everyone has been great and very friendly. I am thankful for the Dr. I believe he saved our senior chihuahua’s life . If we hadn’t gone into his clinic for a second opinion my boy wouldn’t be here with us a year later. They have treated all my animals with care. ❤️

It’s always a pleasure to visit the Ark Pet Hospital. Dr. Hubenak is knowledgeable, compassionate, and a highly qualified veterinarian. (He also has a great sense of humor) The staff is competent and friendly. I highly recommend the Ark.

Dr. Hubenak and his staff are very professional and friendly. What I really like is that they do not rush to cut off a conversation and allow you to discuss all your concerns about your pet and get answers then and there. We are very pleased with the service and advice received and plan to stick with this practice.

I love the veterinarian and I love the staff. Everybody is wonderful polite and absolutely amazing! I cannot read enough about this veterinarian clinic.

Dr. Darren Hubenak and his staff are friendly, helpful and professional. It is difficult when you are the owner of the practice and the only vet on Staff, but I am sure it is more difficult to find an additional vet that blends well with the practice. After each visit Dr. Hubenak comes out to the car - rain or shine - and discusses your pets medical needs and concerns. That definitely takes added time for each appointment. The front office staff are friendly and helpful. Records at their fingertips and reminders of your appointment. I have had an emergency with my Bird who became ill very quickly and I was told to bring in immediately. I contribute the quick action and medical treatment that saved his life. So far my dogs have just needed routine care but I do have a senior dog who is monitored closely to maintain good health but not over medicated. Thanks to all for great Vet Care of my "Children"

Out little dog eat a foreign object, which threatened his life..and Ark Pet Hospital staff took care of him promptly and professionally that we are so greatful with them and recommend them to everyone

I previously used a reputable vet service about a mile away, but changed to The Ark for personal reasons which is 8-10 miles further.

They are very caring and take the time to answer all my questions. Fantastic place to care for your pets!

With only one doctor and a growing number of patients to treat, the level of care is diminishing and there is no current effort being made to amend this situation. When concerns are presented to the doctor they are met with childish retaliation and public humiliation. It is heartbreaking to watch such potential be wasted on appearances and self-indulgence whilst the clinic remains in a constant downward spiral. Patients should be the number one priority at any clinic and unfortunately, Dr. Hubenak needs to be reminded of that.

All the staff here make you feel so comfortable and welcomed. The Veteranian is amazing

They take great care of my 2 Jack Russells and I know they can be a handful! Everyone is always friendly and they listen and respond to all concerns we may have.

Everything about The Ark is amazing. They are easy to schedule appointments with, they are friendly, they love my dog, the Vet is great - he listens, he is gentle and he cares. They always call the next day to follow up and make sure all is well with your pet. 5 stars hands down!

Dr. Darren Huebernak and his staff are very friendly, helpful, accommodating, and knowledgeable. During the Coronavirus Pandemic, my dogs did not miss a single shot or visit. They were able to figure the perfect workaround to this obstacle. I wouldn’t take my pets anywhere else for their care.
