I don’t know if the Pur Darby shop is good if that’s what I need to get it but that’s the one I picked I hope and pray that everything is good may God be with each and everyone of us

Best place in my book! They are very special human beings that love our fur babies. They went above and beyond for our fur baby.

I was really bothered for a while by the demeanor of the ladies working there. I took my puppy to get spayed there and I asked simple questions about how they got started and was contemplating a puppy in the near future, since I have always had 2 dogs. Their demeanor was like if I was not really welcomed. When I first got there the lady immediately said it would be 150.00 without looking and seeing that I had paid in full before hand. Mistakes happen but this was as though I was being racially profiled. Her demeanor was in shock that a Hispanic guy would pay the fee beforehand. I brought in my own microchip and asked that it be inserted. When I got my baby nothing was said about that. So I called and asked if it was inserted. The response was if I offended them. I personally would not do business in terms of adoption. The feeling I got was that they are a very new organization that needs a lot of professional maturing. I could not shake the feeling that they have hidden feelings relative to certain cultures. And in reading some of the reviews, it reinforced my gut feeling. The biggest clue was that my puppy seemed to have something going on with her ears. I am very maticulous about taking care of my puppy. I have pet insurance and a dedicated professional groomer. And the attitude and demeanor when I went to get her after surgery was as if I was neglecting her. I use to do volunteer work at PAWS in Chicago and SNIPSA does not compare in terms of professionalism. This is the kind of experience that makes people get their puppy from a breeder.

I had been searching for a dog for months and SNIPSA's staff were in it with me. They educated me on heartworm prevention and parvo and really helped my family and me prepare for the responsibilities that come a long with having a pet.

They took my money and went quiet. It was unorganized. I paid over $400 to help a stray animal. I told SNIPSA I would attempt to keep the dog she seemed quite nice. Well, noticed some behavioral issues and asked if I could find a pet better suited to my home and our needs. They referred me to a trainer instead. I said ok and gave it a shot. It helped a lot but regardless I can’t accommodate the pet’s needs. Even the trainer said “oh you won’t really know your pet for a while in it’s environment”. Needless to say I have been asking for assistance since March (it’s July) and I’m pretty much ghosted. The strangest part is that during my last visit with the dog (they said they “forgot” to charge me a fee. I asked for what and they said “oh for anything we may have provided. Like food and stuff”. I just said ok even though they provided nothing. I went home to find my card charged $100!! But it got better, before leaving that day, I went back in where the tech then threatened to keep the dog since I hadn’t gotten another tag (per their agreement). She refused to give me the leash till I paid for one of their $10 tags. Again, the visit was so weird - I just gave them my card. Even after the 4th visit, they didn’t know who I was or the dog’s history. Then they scolded me about the collar and tag - to only go and give me a newer collar for adopting. It was just crazy. BUT THE KICKER is how hard core they wanted to be about their contracts and monies UNTIL I need them to do their part of the contract and help with the animal I PAID FOR. I even texted (Christine) and let her know I was upset. AND STILL IGNORED. Just terrible. If they really were an honest adoption place, they’d care about PLACING THE RIGHT ANIMALS IN THE RIGHT HOMES. They clearly don’t do that. I’ve been texting CHRISTINE SINCE MARCH about the issues. I hate being a nag BUT it’s literally come to texting with no response. Just left a voicemail…but sounds like it is the same lady on the message. ????????‍♀️ update: July 07 - was told Sherri would contact me - didn’t happen. July 08 - I messaged that I’d be happy to take the dog by instead - Sherri calls and states due to behavioral issues w/dog, they would not be willing to help. She was quick to remind me that their contract doesn’t stipulate they have to take the dog back. ALL IVE BEEN ASKING IS TO GET THE DOG REPOSTED! It was a long frustrating conversation with me telling her the dog is very adoptable/very nice but requires crating - something I cannot accommodate since i am a commuter and am gone for looong days. I then asked her if she was fine with the animal going to animal control with the potential of euthanasia. Sherri said she and Dr. Espy (Director) were well aware of the situation and oh well. I then asked for a refund of my supposed “$100 intake” fee since it never truly happened. She said they would call me back by end of day - no call as of July 12th.Sherri accused me of somehow being negligent for not texting during a 1 month duration. I was like “seriously? Because all the texts over the previous and current months weren’t enough to get SNIPSAs attention??? What do you think I’ve been doing since March? Getting through work, life and trying to spare a dog’s life”. I reminded her that people shouldn’t have to harass for help. She also opposed the refund. I paid extra for heartworm treatment that she said should’ve been over $1k. I just had to stop her right there. It was RIDICULOUS! Folks, these non for profits don’t lose money. They do make some money. They work off of grants and other donations. Whether it’s for personnel hours, drugs, or other items. They take donations. People give them money and goods TO PROVIDE A SERVICE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. In this case, I am SO disappointed. Just GO TO ANIMAL CONTROL SERVICES (ACS) WHERE YOUR TAX DOLLARS ALREADY ARE BUDGETED AND ANIMALS ARE ON A EUTHANASIA LIST. Do not support SNIPSA. Their dogs aren’t getting euthanized and they are apparently NOT CONCERNED with customer service or GENERAL ANIMAL PLACEMENT/SAVING SERVICES.

I love SNIPSA! It's such a great organization that really strives to help solve the stray animal overpopulation problem in San Antonio and surrounding areas. I have been fostering for SNIPSA for 2.5 months, have had 10 puppies in that time frame and they find them loving homes very quickly! They also take really great care of their fosters by providing everything we need and being available for questions or emergencies 24/7.

You know how some people work at a place and you can tell they hate it? Well these people love their work and it shows!!! Our cat was so well taken care of during her visit. We will be back for cats in the future. Plus they have an amazing office cat.

First time taking one my babies here to get spayed the staffed seemed friendly but a little overwhelmed.. dropped off My baby and was given a list of after surgery instructions after picking her up I noticed that they didn't provide me with a cone of shame so I went to ask if they provided one I was told that they don't give one since it stresses them out more omg really I think I was stressed out more than she I couldn't get any sleep cause I had to make sure she didn't lick her incision ugh

We adopted our first puppy! The SNIPSA staff were incredibly kind, professional and patient with us. They made the process super smooth and educated us on being new dog parents. I have called twice to ask questions about our pup and they have been so kind and were glad to help me. The office was very clean and I really appreciated that. I highly recommend adopting your furever friend from SNIPSA!

Organized, responsive, fast-paced team of friendly professionals. I stopped by for my first foster dog and they took care of everything (dog and supplies) so I could wait outside due to covid restrictions.

Misha () had been a wonderful addition to our family. This is a wonderful organization that truly understands that animals are not accessories but responsibilities. I appreciate them for being such a beacon of hope for their animals. My only regret is that I wasnt prepared to adopt Beth's mom too.

Our hearts are full, thanks to SNIPSA. We were so blessed to have Christine help us find our new pet. She and SNIPSA made it possible for us to adopt this little beauty. We were looking for a puppy, gave her some specifics and within a day I was sent pictures of a beautiful little family of pups that needed adoption. All of the pups were very healthy and it was hard to choose just one. They walked us through the adoption process and this sweet girl now graces our home. We are very thankful and highly recommend SNIPSA.

I recently adopted a wonderfully sweet 6 year old dog from them. Christine was so understanding and helpful! I love that the dogs they rescue live in foster homes until they find them a forever home.
