Under staffed and over worked be patient... We adopted our little girl dog from this location after watching the website for a few months. Every email was met with a prompt response and with COVID-19 I was worried about not getting in before someone else adopted her. I had read other reviews about animals being adopted out before appointments were met, but that wasn't my case. I do suggest asking to see more than one adoptable fur baby just in case.

From what I can tell, this seems to be a very loving rescue. I am looking into rescuing from here.

Great People trying to save a lot of animals from San Antonio Acs. Do not mistake them for Acs because they are on the same Campus there Building is the first one to the left by it's self while Acs buildings are all in one row of each other

I went there and even though they were closed for cleaning, the person there asked if there was a particular animal and we said yes, then they brought the dog out to me. A few days later, she's in her forever home. Them going out of their way even though they said they were closed saved two dogs lives. Good people, I don't know how they do their jobs.

Lots of the animals seem sick but staff was friendly

They keeping animals in a inhuman way. They don't have resources to pay for the quality of the building. They say they are rescuing dogs but than put them in very poor conditions. Also, how they communicate with the people is way off, only thru email. Don't recommend adopting from this place go somewhere else were they teach the dogs how to potty train and have a yard.

I get ALL my pets (Unless it's a cow) from this place, you should too. If you like Cats and Dogs, YOU SHOULD ADOPT !

The campus is pretty big with lots of animals. You are able to take out animals to make bonds with them. So many kittens! My wife is a huge cat lover so she was very happy with how many cats were available. The staff is friendly and nice especially the security! I will come here for any future pets while I'm in San Antonio.

We adopted our 1st rescue over a year ago. Stopped by to consider a 2nd adoptee. Seems like they have gotten stricker in considering a pet. Now you have to send an email request to walk a dog making it it discouraging along with all the securities setting so many rules.

Such a pretty place to visit but it is so hurtful to know that there’s a list they give in the morning and by the same day a couple of hours later if the animals on that list don’t find a home they are euthanized. The place is very pretty but that portion of it is sad

My wife and I had a wonderful experience in adopting our 10 week old female Terrier mix! I looked at the available dogs and was interested in an adorable 10 week old, female Terrier mix. So, I filled out the generic, and non-intrusive, application online and received a response within just minutes! I was shocked! I was told that the dog was "Sheltered" by a volunteer and that they would forward my application to them. I figured this would take a day or so. Again, I was totally shocked to hear from the Foster Parent who was sheltering the dog I was considering within MINUTES!! After getting to know each other, we set up a Meet & Greet just a couple of days out - a date where we could meet after my wife got off work. We all had a very pleasant visit with Princess Diana and her brother Prince William (whom she was also sheltering) I could tell that the Foster Parent was a very caring and engaged person that had the best interest of the dogs in mind. I knew that they would ensure that the dogs would go to the BEST possible home. We really hit it off with Princess Diana and fell in love immediately! The Foster Parent could see the bonding and our intentions to be this dog's Forever Family. Being selected as the best possible choice for the dog we were looking at was an awesome experience! I will be adamantly recommending SAPA to everyone I meet that is looking for a companion and is serious about the words FOREVER Family! Thank you SAPA!! In addition to any donation to SAPA, PLEASE consider helping the foster parent(s) out with a donation to cover all of the supplies that they purchase along the way for these animals -- not to mention all of the time, care, gasoline and effort they spend in caring for that perfect pet prior to you adopting it!! Nowadays, almost everyone has a PayPal, Venmo, or applications, that you can use to help them out... Just saying!

Staffers and volunteers work hard to save dogs and cats that have been abandoned by their owners, previous owners. They do a good job saving as many as they can from euthanasia. They make it as easy as possible for new pet owners to adopt. They strive to match the proper pet to the owners wants and desires
