The receiving Veterinarian Staff Member and the Attending Veterinarian were very accommodating to us and interacted with professionalism, care, and politeness throughout our visit. The animal we brought in remained calm and unafraid because of the care and compassion they showed. Really good experience for both us and the animal.

I've been taking my pets here for a long time. I can't believe how much they are changing now to see your pets. It's rediculous. Now I have to find a new vet. This vet doesn't even deserve one star!!!

Wonderful staff! My pup needed an annual check up, and he was well taken care of through Kirby Vet’s easy, and affordable, process! I do wish there was more documentation to take home. I should have asked for more specific information when I went, but as long as you know what you’re doing, it’s well worth a visit. ????????

Took my senior dog for his annual bloodwork 2 weeks ago, today. I was told I would get results either the next day or Monday. Called Tuesday and was told they would call me back. The person I talked to said the only thing she could tell me by looking at the results is that his liver and kidney values are elevated. The following week I was left a voice-mail stating they did not get enough blood the first time and I needed to bring him back in. This previous Monday, the 25th, I took him and I was assured I would get a call the next day. Thursday, I still did not hear anything and I called back asking and they stated the technician is gone for the day and they don't have a doctor either. I was told I would get a call today. I called today after 3pm and I was told that there is no doctor and no technician. The lady also informed me that there is no communication notes on his chart after the voicemail about bringing him back for more blood results. She also stated there is no lab results on his chart either. So if that's the case then how would the first person I spoke to know his liver and kidney enzymes were elevated? I should of not given this place another chance, especially with my dog being a senior. I've worked in the animal  care world for 7 years, as a tech in private practice, urgent care, and a city shelter and I have never seen something this ridiculous in regard to lab work. This is ridiculous and I thought Converse vet clinic was bad. I just want my babies results!

They have the best Doctors! Dr. Hill is amazing, I have 6 dogs and they all see her and have had zero issues. Always happy employees and they remember our pets names. Will never change their Dr's! If I could give 6 stars I would!

I took feral cat to Vet, it had a respiratory infection and Conjunctivitis in right eye. I was seen the same day by Dr. Klecka. The cost was reasonable, and I will return.

I found Kirby 5 yrs ago for a special needs fur baby after a exhaustive search. I knew right away that everyone put the patients 1st. We've gone through many ups and downs since then but I'm still impressed and thankful for the care my babies recieve. They will be my family vet as long as we have family pets.

We have been taking our pets to KAH for over 20 years. They are top notch processionals, and the care they invest in the companion animals under their care is unparalleled. I cannot recommend them enough!!!

Dr. Hill and her staff are amazing. They make the process super easy from setting up the appointment until the end of the visit. They were great with my cats and we will definitely keep coming back for our check ups and health care.

New owner, new rules. Not sure we're still feeling the love Dr. Hill (previous owner) and her staff were so thoughtful about.

We came for a second opinion from our original vet Converse Animal Hospital. They told us our baby Pandora had a tumor growing on her head. It kept growing and it was bleeding all the time. We did the best we could to keep it clean daily as we couldn't afford $1000 to have it removed and put her under anesthesia for a 15yr old dog and risk her life. Anyways. Since the pandemic their prices went up and unit just didn't feel the same like they didn't care about your furry pet they only wanted money. So I finally decided after a yr and a half later to look into a new vet and get a second opinion. Right away the vet was able to tell it was ingrown hairs on top of her head that had gotten badly infected. We had it removed and we only paid $222. Which I think is much reasonable and they just were so humble and sincere. I have found my new vet for my baby. Will be back again to remove Staples but also for all her needs. Thank you Kirby Family Vet for caring. We appreciate and love y'all for helping and giving us a proper diagnosis. Here we were thinking she was going to die on us from old age and suffering. But you have us hope. Thank you again. Kind Regards. JW

Update to review a year later I still stand in awe of this amazing veterinarian/ boarding kennel they truly love animals and it’s shown in the service they provide. They welcome your fur baby like family and nothings changed in the 17 years I used them. (I no longer have pets) I highly recommend

On June 16, 2021 at 5:07PM C ST, I called the Kirby Animal Hospital located 4623 Binz-Engleman Rd, San Antonio, TX 78219 to schedule a veterinarian visit for Gypsy who was previously owned by my Mother.  I explained to the receptionist that my Mother had passed away and my Stepfather would be bringing the dog in going forward.  I also explained that my Stepfather had experienced a couple of strokes so if any clarification/assistance is needed regarding decisions about the dog, I could be reached to help since I do not live in San Antonio. The appointment was scheduled for Friday, June 18, 2021 at 3:30PM.  My Stepfather was contacted the day prior confirming the appointment and did not communicate that there were any special precautions being taken such as curbside.  I called a LYFT to pick my Stepfather up and he was picked up at 3:05PM and dropped off at 3:15PM.  I received a call from my Stepfather's cell phone from the Kirby Animal Clinic on 6/18 at 4:06 PM CST stating that my Stepfather was outside throwing up. When I inquired why my Stepfather was outside in the heat when the temperature was 93 degrees, I was informed that he could not stand inside, because the clinic was only doing curbside which was not explained when the appointment was scheduled nor during the confirmation call.  I told the office receptionist that it sounded like my Stepfather was having a heat stroke.  I also asked the office receptionist if my Stepfather could stand inside, because he is 80 years old, having a heat stroke, has his mask on and is fully COVID-19 vaccinated and has a card.  She asked to put me on hold to ask the Office Manager and then came back to the phone and stated she was sorry but the Office Manager, Renate Spence, stated that my Stepfather could not wait inside and they were only doing curbside. Considering there was no one else inside of the office outside of the pets and office workers, there would have been no harm in letting him stand inside.  My Stepfather communicated to the office receptionist that he could not stand in the heat and that he was not feeling well after standing outside for a short period of time.  Prior to being exposed to the heat standing outside the clinic, my Stepfather was not feeling bad or ill. After the office receptionist shared the information communicated by the Office Manager, she offered my Stepfather some water and a chair but they would not allow him to wait in the office where it was cool. Since my Stepfather had thrown up, the office receptionist stated that she was going to go ahead and call the EMS.  The EMS came out and shared the same information that my Stepfather was having complications due to having to stand in the heat at his age and asked if he could wait inside.  It was not until then that they went ahead and let my Stepfather stand inside and wait for his pet to be serviced. My parents have been staying in that neighborhood for over 15 years and taking this pet and prior pets to this animal clinic over the years as loyal customers.  This was a blatant display of inability to have empathy and is definitely Elderly Abuse.  It was until I stated I was going to report this, my Stepfather became ill enough for an EMS and the EMS asked if he could wait inside that it became a serious matter.  My Stepfather could have ultimately had a heat stroke and died due to their negligence, inability to be empathetic and lack of common sense.

My dog came out calmed. He was scared in The beginning but surely they treated him well because he did not look scared after I picked him up. He was hungry though. I think $25 fee for drop off was too much in my case.
