I love the vets...I have never had an issue with them or their abilities to take wonderful care of my fur babies. I would also like to make a specific shout out to McKenna (sorry if I spelled it wrong, girl!). She has ALWAYS been so kind and attentive to my dogs and to me when I have been worried for them. She is there as a listening ear and to be extremely helpful with whatever I need and I couldn't be more appreciative of her. Give her a raise. My biggest issues have always been with other front staff members. They never have their phones on when they open, and once when I called them out, I was lied to and basically called a liar. They have a serious issue with answering phones and it happens so often that I have considered moving vets. Writing this at 816 AM after calling 4 times and getting a vm saying they aren't open. YES THEY ARE. Editing to add...it is now 838 AM and their phones are still off. Called another one to see if their phones matched their Google hours and they do. This happens every time I try to call in the morning. Editing again...915AM and still off.

Last Monday on September 20 I called and asked to make a appointment for my dog to get Spayed, and they said they could get me as early as Oct 15. I told them I needed done as soon as possible cause my dog is in heat. Well today, they called and canceled, they told me their Doc was pregnant and can’t do the surgery. Then after paying 114.00 for shots my dog already had. They canceled on me and expected me to pay additional 200 dollars for canceling their wellness plan. Do not go here big Rip off!!! I also filed against them with the BBB.

So Banfield Hospital is terrible for pet deaths, at least in our experience. Make sure you read the fine print, because that was our mistake. So when your pet dies, you still have to pay out the rest of the wellness plan you had them on. Every month, until it's paid off, you get a monthly reminder for a payment for an animal you no longer have (as if our grief wasn't enough of a reminder). We understand paying for our pet's plan that's still alive, but our deceased one? Where is your understanding of this? Plus they don't take care of any kind of expenses like crematorial if your pet passes away. They just roll them up in a blanket, hand them back, and say 'they are sorry for your loss'. Customer service, manager, doctor, whoever, all basically say 'when you signed the paperwork,in the fine print, it says even in pets death, you must pay off wellness plan'. I should have read the fine print, that's my mistake. We should have asked more questions, but we didn't think we would need to ever be doing something like that, at least not for awhile. It should be something that is mentioned and discussed when signing up, because people aren't thinking of their pets' death, just their care, at the time. I get you're a business (yes hospital, but felt no remorse, more business like with the pay situation), but no compassion or empathy for these type of situations is very off putting and upsetting. Never will we be using them for pet care/needs when we're done paying off our late pets and current pets wellness plans, have no choice but to pay off or they'll send to collections.

Dr Dobson is the best cat vet we have found. She cares about our cats as much as we do.

I dropped off my dog at 9:00 am and they held her until 4:00 pm without calling me in letting me know she was ready. I am under the impression that they are under staffed.

UPDATE: I'm updating my review for one reason and her name is Megan. She's the shift lead at this location. She reached out to me and not only sincerely listened to what made me so upset, but gave me full context of that day and what likely led to my cats being so fearful and resistant. There were still mishaps that should have been handled better on their end, however, I really appreciate Megan's attention to my issues. If we do decide to take our cats back to finish out our plan, she assured they will not be drop-offs because they can't handle sitting for hours around other cats without getting severely worked up. I was initially happy with my services at Banfield, but ever since taking my two kittens there last year, I've had increasingly bad service. After today I will be removing them entirely, canceling my wellness plan, and finding a new vet. Things have been building, the most recent being in November when they were both spayed and neutered. I said numerous times I wanted them chipped while they were under for surgery and confirmed this with one of the nurses/techs. Guess what didn't happen because no one put it in the notes? Today they were scheduled for a routine check-up and a nail trim. We were also going to schedule another appointment for their microchipping. Cats were dropped off at 9:45 in the morning. Around 11 AM my partner called to see if they were ready for pick-up. The nurse/tech said it was taking a bit longer and that they normally try to get all appointments out the door by 2 PM. I didn't hear from them at all until 2, so at 2 the cats were picked up, where Banfield informed us that they had both been so fearful and aggressive that nothing had been done. First of all, why weren't we told about this at any point? Why hold onto our poor cats for this long without saying anything about this? Second, I just flat out don't believe my cats are so aggressive they couldn't be calmed. Not because they're special little happy babies, but because it's not their temperament. They're not aggressive to any other person who enters our house. They growl, and that's about it. But apparently the staff at Banfield couldn't calm them down enough and expect us to dope them up before their next visit.

We are devastated to say this, but this place is absolutely awful. After our pet was put down, we were charged continuously for his Wellness plan, only to have them say we owe a balance. We will never take our dogs here again, as we were already on the fringe of not coming back due to being poorly treated in the grooming department. Do NOT put your dog on a Wellness plan. it is a cash grab.

The vet was knowledgeable and took a second look at my cat when I asked about an additional concern.

Dr Bernal called us on phone after examination of our dogs and spoke with us for over 10 minutes about their diet, physical issues, and how our stresses of isolation and concerns of Covid 19 affect them too. We were impressed at his concern. At the clinic there was curbside drop off and pick up to address social distancing. We have used Banfield for several years as our dogs primary vet and we have been very pleased with their health care.

I have an old dog. Took him in because I’ve seen him decline. Long story short: the vet called me later that day and was going 100m/hr with many medical terms and I just couldn’t really catch on... we didn’t really find much of a solution for him. Going to take him to another banfield for better care and service.

I came in with an abandoned puppy & was just trying to get a guesstimate on her age to figure out if I needed to buy formula or puppy food. This was a few days after Covid shut down Texas & my vet was only accepting emergency cases. Within a few minutes of talking to the lady at Banfield, she scooped up the pup & took her to the back. I could hear the puppy crying & there was no one to ask what was going on because they were all in the back. Finally, the lady that took the pup came out and said "You're in luck, one of our vet techs will take her!" Wait, what?! I didn't come in there to leave the puppy with a complete stranger, much less to have you perform any procedure on her without permission. My shock & confusion as to what was happening was met with hostility from the banfield staff. She belittled me while explaining how "rescues worked." I nearly had to raise my voice just to get the puppy back. My vet was appalled when I told her what happened, so she squeezed in an appointment later that day. The damage you did to her toe without my permission took over a month to heal and wasn't a cheap treatment. There are ways to go about running a practice. Preforming a procedure without permission, leaving a customer in the dark & then belittling them because things didn't go your way is just BAD buisness.

Horrible service and staff does not communicate well with each other. I had a 2pm curbside appointment only for no one to come to my car (yes , I called and notified the receptionist I had arrived) and over an hour later my pet still had not been seen.when asked why it had to due with me applying online and telling them I had a pending charge. They didnt want to see my dog untill they verified the charge and the whole time we thought our dog was being looked at.
