Our little dachshund Cocoa loves going to Lil Kara's. She seems excited to get there and tired when she comes home. You guys have a been a life-saver! Thanks Lil Kara's and amazing staff for taking care of our sweet Cocoa at doggie daycare.

This place is amazing! Our puppy is always so excited to go and is wonderfully tired after. You can really tell they all love doggos and are short personable. Plus, they're online portal is extremely user friendly...they even add pictures of your pup so you know they're having a good time! Highly recommend ????????

Our 55 lb active 3 yr old dog fit right in at Kara's. The staff is all very friendly and treat all the dogs like their own. I work from home so I won't be using the daycare, although I would recommend it, but I will definitely be using Kara's again for boarding! I give it two thumbs up for social dogs.

I really cannot say enough good things about this place! Everyone that works here is amazing! My dog literally rushes me out the door in the morning if I'm taking too long. They are the best!

Our dog looks forward to going to Kara's as often as she can go. Friendly staff that cares about dogs there and they post pictures which are fun to look through! Was walking around the block and ran into Kara's husband watering their grass and told him how much we like their business. So, thought to leave a review finally. Highly recommend them and so does heyjunedog.com.

Gracie has been going to Kara’s for 6 months. She loves it and even has her own puppy posse she plays with. What’s more, the staff is super friendly and they go out of their way to make things easy on you. They’re also very military friendly and have helped me with Gracie while on a short deployment. Seriously, no better place to have a dog there!

Kara’s K9 will forever be the place I send my fur babies. The first time I ever had to board a dog, I was terrified. I was attracted to Kara’s, because of the “cage-free” aspect. I tested it out with my first dog Banks and we immediately fell in love. Kara’s took care of my baby like he was their own for 2 years. He suddenly passed away and everyone at Kara’s made me a memory book of him. If that doesn’t demonstrate how much these people care, I don’t know what will. You will not find better customer service, friendlier staff or a better dog paradise in San Antonio. I am now boarding my new dog Otis there and plan to do the same with all my dogs to come. 10/10 recommend.

Simply the best place to leave your loved one for a few hours or a few weeks! Amazing staff, great facility. Leaving Kara’s was one of the hardest hurdles to overcome when we moved away from San Antonio. Prices are reasonable and Tito was always treated like family. The Cab service is great too, makes it super convenient for your dog to still socialize all day if you have to be on base by 0500.

Have been meaning to write this for a while as I am so impressed with Kara and her team. They are simply amazing. Our guy truly cannot wait to get there in the mornings and is always so happy at the end of the day. Kara and her gals are so good to all the dogs and care for them as if they are their own. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Kara’s K9 to anyone looking for daycare or boarding. Thank you for all you do!

Staff is wonderful and very professional. They make sure each fur baby gets what they need (rest, burn energy, food, etc) I LOVE that the dogs are not kept in cages, they are free to roam indoors or outdoors and to me that was very important. Pricing is super affordable especially when you get the package deals. I highly recommend Kara's to anyone. I only wish they had more locations.

Kara and her effervescent crew have been taking care of my boy for about 4 years. He loves going there and I love knowing he is in a safe, clean, cage-less environment where he can run off his energy and where he can get the attention he needs when I am at work. Sometimes I will arrange for their Taxi service to take him home if I get delayed at work or if I know it’s going to be “one of those days.” I have boarded my pup there a few times when I have gone out of town. I love the idea that he sleeps in a room with other friends and not in a cage. I think the prices are reasonable especially given the pricelessness of my peace of mind. I am able to accomplish more at work, without worrying about how lonely he is at home. Thank you Kara’s K-9 for loving my boy almost as much as I love him.

We love Karas. My Tito goes 2 to 3 times a week. We have boarded there also. Great staff and Tito loves Karas and all his friends ❤️

Our dog has been going to Kara's for 4 years now. The staff are amazing - always going above and beyond for Luna to include her (she's kind of a loner)! I have absolutely nothing bad to say! Amazing, friendly, welcoming staff! The owner has been so flexible with me and my crazy schedule when we first moved to Texas. She goes above and beyond and Luna LOVES her and her family to pieces! I'd give them a million stars if Google allowed it, but 5 will have to do!

Kara and her staff have made our dog's life so complete. The fact that it is a CAGE FREE environment and she can maintain such a safe and fun environment for my pup is amazing . Our dog also stays there when we travel. But what I love most is that Kara puts the dogs first. Sometimes humans get their feelings hurt in the process. However, she maintains a high level of integrity and puts the True Client First: THE DOG. Which is exactly why we take our beloved Bullet there.

The ABSOLUTE BEST experience I have ever had with a daycare! My rescue dog was a bit nervous at first, but due to the experienced and caring owners and staff at Kara's, she learned very quickly that this is a GREAT place to have a good time with all her doggie pals! I have boarded her there a couple of times (cage-free), and I take her for daycare at least once or twice per week--and she can hardly contain her excitement until we get there! Once, she had a health issue and Kara telephoned me as soon as she noticed the problem, even collecting a specimen for me to take to the vet, which I felt was above and beyond the call of duty! It is obvious to me that Kara, Robert, and the entire staff at Kara's are in the business because they love dogs! They are totally committed to the well-being of the dogs and the satisfaction of their owners. Kara's is the BEST!!

As a dog parent of 2 Labradoodles, Kara's K-9 Retreat is the BEST doggy day care and boarding facility in the city. We have been fans since she opened several years ago and we love that there are NO cages. Ever. Kara is highly qualified and professional dog lover to the core. Her employees are equally skilled and caring and that makes me very happy. My dogs so love spending the day or an overnight stay at Kara's, we can't even say her name out loud or one dog goes nutso happy and starts barking and running around and jumping with joy. If you love your dogs like I love mine, you'll feel great knowing they are at Kara's. Her business model and obvious love of dogs has garnered such traction, she recently opened a doggy day care and boarding facility for little dogs next door, called Lil' Kara's.

Kara's K9 Retreat has exceeded every and any expectation I've ever had for dog care. Kara and her staff go above and beyond consistently week in and week out. I would recommend this daycare easily over Lucy's or Camp Bow any day of the week. My golden-doodle (Murphy) is beyond ecstatic when we pull up to drop him off at Kara's.

Over the years I've used several doggie day cares. Kara's is the best. There is always a staff member with them. It's the cleanest facility and best staff. My dog and her best friend are happier and healthier since they started playing at Kara's K9.

I can not say enough positive things about Kara's! I take my dog, Stella, here every day and she LOVES it. Everyday when I pull up she gets so excited to get inside and play, and when I take her home she is so tired from all the fun. The staff is friendly and helpful, and truly know and love all the dogs. The facility is clean and I really love that it is cage free. I have taken her to different daycares and boardings before in San Antonio, and I can honestly say I would recommend Kara's above all of them any day!

Kara’s K-9 Retreat has been a life safer in so many ways! I have a one year old lab puppy, who needless to say has a bit of energy. I’m a work alcoholic that was initially hesitant to get a dog, but after researching and visiting a couple different daycares across the city found that Kara’s would be the right fit for us. I have utilized Kara’s cage free facility for daycare (at least twice a week) and boarding for almost a year. In addition, their taxi services have been a wonderful bonus on those days that I travel and cannot take the dog in, or for the days that I cannot seem to leave my office early enough to pick him up. Coming home having to wake up the dog to eat is just unbelievable - I cannot even imagine the fun that this dog has each time he is there to be that exhausted from playing with his friends. Not to mention, how wonderful his manners and behavior has improved with coaching from the staff. Their entire staff’s professionalism and LOVE for what they do is quite evident. The words “daycare” and “Kara’s” cannot be said in front of the dog without him going bonkers. In fact, if you want to see how much the dogs love Kara’s - just watch each dog run into the facility with excitement and impatiently wait to be allowed into daycare. It really is fantastic to have a place like Kara’s to send my dog - couldn’t imagine taking him anywhere else as each visit completely exceeds my expectations!!
