I have taken 2 of my lizards here. The staff is amazing. They are so friendly and helpful. Dr Wooley is a great reptile veterinarian. He's very kind and offers a lot of information.

Walking into this clinic is one of the biggest regrets of my life. When I took my extremely sick bearded dragon here he was in rough shape but still moving and eating, albeit with help from an oral syringe. When doctor Woolley suggested putting him down, my family and I decided we wanted to keep him going as long as we could, even though we knew he didn’t have long. When we turned down euthanasia, Dr. Woolley then suggested a feeding tube assuring me it was a simple procedure and that he would barley even notice it. Wouldn’t even mind it. He reiterated this point several times and with the assumption that he was a professional in his field, and in desperation to increases his odds & quality of life of my little guy in his final days, I agreed. Something I will regret for the rest of my life. I had no idea this was an invasive surgery in which they punctured the area in between his neck and shoulder and into his stomach. Pretty serious surgery with no anesthetics. Needless to say, it did him no favors. It only sped up his death and caused him to be in severe pain until his death. All, to achieve something we had already been doing, feeding him. Why a feeding tube would be suggested before orally administered supportive care, let alone when it was already being done successfully is absolutely ludicrous. When I got him back it was clear he had been put through the ringer. He wasn’t closing his jaw properly anymore and was blacker than I had ever seen him, particularly in the area where they had punctured, in between the neck and shoulder. The black/darkening, a sign of distress in bearded dragons, extended down the sides of his body, correlating with the placement of the feeding tube inside him. If I wasn’t sure he was in pain before, I had no doubt then. Most frustrating of all is that a parasite check was of the upmost importance and was never conducted. When I picked him up there was dry poop on the linen he was wrapped in, but no stool sample was taken. They checked for everything under the sun BUT the single most practical test. My bearded dragons last hours were horrible, overtly in pain and restricted in movement. Losing him was hard enough, but the unnecessary trauma & suffering made the situation unbearable. When I attempted to bring these concerns to ‘Doctor’ Woolley, leaving a note with a receptionist, it took 2 days to call me back and when he did, it was a 9pm. He clearly wasn’t interested in having a good faith conversation. Sure enough he yelled & ranted, demanding that I apologize TO HIM and hung up without letting me have a single word in. I’ve attempted to put a formal complaint with an office administrator but despite my many attempts to reach out to them, NOBODY has called be back. It’s been over a month. DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. THERE IS NO ACCOUNTABILITY.

Family is not just in the name, they really make you and your pet feel like family there. We take our beloved furry friends to their facility regularly and could not imagine going anywhere else. 10/10 best vet in San Antonio!

It does not get better than Dr. Woolley. His love and fascination with animals is what makes him a great vet. They took very good care of my gecko, Leo.

Brought my bird in about a week and a half ago on an emergency basis. My bird was wheezing and sounded as if he had aspirated. They had me pre-pay because they said it was an emergency visit. Vet examined and took x-rays and found no issues. Now my bird is still having issues and I asked for a recheck. Over the phone, I asked if there would be a fee, and they said it would be $60. I mentioned that the issue was not resolved, they said fee still applies. I mentioned I would talk to vet about it. I walk in office and they immediately asked for the $60 because of the"circumstances". I asked if that was normal procedure, and they said it wasn't. Stay away from this office that likes to charge customers according to "circumstances". Another tech came out, after I asked to speak to management, and pretty much told me I was being treated differently because this is not a normal situation. He said I was receiving excellent care because my bird was going to see a specialist. Meanwhile, now I have to hunt for another avian vet. Btw, the first visit was over $300.

I have been using Family Pet Hospital since 2005. Dr Woolley & Dr Stewart have provided excellent care for Bailey & Morgan. I would recommend their services for those who value their pet.

Specifically called to set a flea bath appointment. My dog was also due for her yearly visit, so added that. Dropped her off. Went to pick her up when they called, and I asked if the flea bath would last awhile or not. They said they hadn't given her a flea bath, since the form I filled out didn't indicate that. I had never filled out the form before and didn't know I had to check 'medicated bath'. Regardless, left her there (wasted round trip) to get the flea bath. They called me while I was driving away to tell me that would be $25. I asked if they would waive it because it's what I'd originally asked for and they said no. When I went in to pick her up, I asked again to waive it and they said no again. The bill was $225. I said, 'Do you want $200 or $0, because I will dispute this on my credit card.' She went to talk to her manager (left me standing there longer than necessary). Came back and said they'd waive the $25 but that I wasn't welcome there again. OVER $25 DOLLARS, that was their mistake in the first place! DO NOT GO TO THIS VET IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE RAKED OVER THE COALS WHERE MONEY IS CONCERNED. I'd hate to think how long they'd hold my pet hostage if they didn't get what they wanted.

Came here Monday 06/07, for an appointment for my bearded dragon, everyone here is so friendly and treat your babies as if they were theirs, Seraph wasn’t feeling well when we came, but he’s been so active and has a huge appetite again, I would highly recommend coming here.

I am so excited to have found Dr Wooley and team! My previous vet (of 10 years) was so far away once I moved and the wait time was horrible. The patience, professionalism and dedication to my animals the clinic has provided is awesome and I can't wait to get the rest of my furkids in there to meet the crew and have them cared for!

Dr. Wooley is such a great vet. He is friendly, knowledgeable and cares about the animals he treats. The staff is very courteous and helpful. Jenna was wonderful and checked up on my babies to make sure that all was going okay. I am so glad that I went to Family Pet Hospital! It was a great experience!

I took by baby of 15 years for euthanasia yesterday. They gave her plate full of all the food you don’t give a dog. She loved it. This I think made it not so emotional and the vet and tech stayed the entire time. They let us go outside in the courtyard that was beautiful and relaxing for the appointment. The vet was very detailed on her exam and great bedside manor. I work at another vet clinic that treated her/me with no heart. The change of venue was absolutely worth it and would recommend them to anyone.

The price is higher than our former vet but if you need urgent care for your pet, I would suggest this place. Staff is friendly and responsive. Dr. Woolley seems to care about our cat as much as we do.

Very disappointed of the new grooming service. After dropping my dog at 8am they call me at 4pm to let me know they could not complete the grooming because my dog was aggressive. Well the previous groomer Michael was fantastic and groomed my dog for the last 3 1/2 years. My dog is not used to be all day in a cannel to start. The medication to relax him wear out of course after all day waiting. They blame me for not let them know I gave him the medication to help him relax. I was not taking him to a new place He is being going there for the last 3 1/2 yrs. They already lost us long ago for the veterinary services and now not even the grooming service is worth it????????

I love the care the staff takes to ensure my pet is safe and well taken care of! The vet staff is wonderful and very helpful. When I asked for an update (when my ferret had to stay overnight), they let me know how she was doing. They even send video of her eating which was very comforting to see! Dr. Woolley is amazing. No question is a dumb question. He helps me understand what the situation is in regards to my pet and lets me know the options I have and lets me know what I can expect to see. I trust them with my pet and love that I found a great place for my fur babies!

We are new puppy owners. The support and information we’ve received at Family Pet Hospital has been exactly what we needed. The greetings at the front desk make us feel valued and of course the puppies love the attention! The vets and techs are thorough, kind and give us time to ask questions. We have boarded here too and the puppies are happy to be there. We enjoy the notes and photos about their stay. We are so glad we chose Family Pet Hospital!

This place is at a great location, Dr. Woolley is great, and the whole staff is great!!! I have no complaints, this is the best place you can take your pets at. I have my complete trust into Dr. Woolley/Family Pet Hospital. My dog Mason, has had 2 surgeries, along with many visits and all is well because he got the best possible care. They are the best. If you want high expertise and good quality care, you come here.

I cannot say enough good things about this vet to do it justice! My daughter has a sugar glider that all of a sudden fell ill. We dropped her off and there was no book of a billion questions that we filled out. They seemed more concerned about getting her help then wasting time with paperwork. The Dr and staff are amazing, caring, friendly, informative, and sincere. It has been difficult to find anyone to take our sugar glider to that knows what their talking about. This place came highly recommend by a friend of mine who has taken her sugar gliders there. The vet took his time explaining everything to my distraught 18 year old and even took our Bebe home with him to administer meds during the night and watch her! Very impressed. We will be bringing our Dane/Mastiff and two cats there from now on too!

Disorganized. No respect. Poor customer service. Zero accountability. They’ve lost a long time customer- Will not be returning. You and your animal relative deserve better than what this place has to offer!

Dr. Woolley is an excellent reptile vet! He was very knowledgeable about my blue tongue skink and was able to help him out and give me some good advice. The staff was wonderfully kind, friendly, and courteous. I'm so glad I found Stone Oak!

We left our ferret for a few days at family pet hospital and she came back super happy. They called to ask if she can play with another ferret before introducing them, and they had a blast. They even sent me a video of them playing. Will board my pet there again!

Dr Woolley is the absolute best vet ever!!! He has treated my rabbits, my ball python, and took incredible care of my chameleon (that he ended up having to put down) He knows everything and is happy to share all of his knowledge with you! His staff is very thoughtful and caring and I feel like they are truly passionate about not only the animals but how humans feel about their pets. You will love him!!!!!

I’ve been coming here over 5 years for my senior dog. Sans the 50-minute wait, this place is one of the best. Dr. Woolley was immersed into my appt with full disclosure of my dog’s health without being pushy on remedies. I even went to a second vet for opinion — she said she wouldn’t have diagnosed any different, but didn’t have the advanced equipment of Family Pet Hospital to do the necessary procedures for my dogson. Sounds like I’m in good hands!

These people are negligent. My dog went in for surgery and they only let her outside once in over 12 hours. She was left in a cage all day and no one called me to pick her up. I spoke to management and it was like talking to a brick wall. Extremely expensive, no compassion, oversells.

We just started taking our 2 dogs here a few months ago, and they have been really awesome. The first time we had to take our dog in, it was for a bad cut on her foot, and the staff went out of their way to get her in immediately. We have had nothing but great experiences here with the care of our pets!
