One of our dogs had got into a fight with another family dog, resulting in loose teeth. They squeezed us in as soon as possible and was *wonderful* in their care & pain medication prescribed. Our other four dogs also are seen there and we’ve been with them for years. ????Highly???? recommend!!!!!????

The front desk staff was accommodating, informed and professional. The vet assistant was beyond exceptional in her communication and examination. The doctor took time to explain his diagnosis, choices of treatment and ways we can be proactive in our pets health. It was literally a slam dunk even though its a bit of a drive for us. Absolute win!

Saw Dr. Hey was leaving in an email I received and that is such a bummer! I am not exaggerating when I say this is the BEST vet office in San Antonio. I'm hoping nothing changes after he leaves. He did an excellent job on my cats surgery even though my cat is extremely difficult! Here's a few reasons why I've been going here for the past few years and won't go anywhere else. When you need to schedule an emergency appointment they're able to see your pet right away. My dog hit her paw on our living room table and needed her nail removed and they were able to schedule an appointment one day later and it saved me from spending major moolah at the pet hospital. Next thing is payment plans for your pet's surgeries. This is seriously unheard of nowadays. Every place makes you pay full upfront. Now I don't mind doing that and spending a few grand to save my pet's life but I'll be eating rice and beans for the rest of the month. Deerfield understands it's not easy to come up with thousands of dollars on the spot and if they approve you they will offer you a payment plan which I used when my cat needed surgery. They really do seem to care about your pets here. Sometimes the vets and the receptionists and vet techs look exhausted here but they still put a ton of effort and more into taking care of your fur babies.

We have used Deerfield Animal Hospital since 1993 and have always received the utmost in care and compassion for our pets. From the administrative staff manning the desk and vet techs to all the veterinary staff. All are top notch. We’ve faced hard choices both financially and emotionally and the Veterinarians always take the time to explain conditions, situations, positives and negatives. I take great comfort in knowing they are working for the best interest of our animals. I can’t recommend them more strongly than this.

Everyone is friendly, professional and the staff efficient with a well-run office. They take great care of my fur babies and I trust them to give them the best medical treatment needed. They also follow up proactively, which I appreciate.

I had an emergency with my precious dog and they took me in right away, saw her, eased my anxiety and got her a prescription. From the vet to the techs to the office staff - everyone was pleasant and professional (even though we were the last ones out). They have been my veterinarian practice for over 20 years and I would highly recommend this practice to anyone.

Took my little dog that had ingested raisins and they work swiftly and professionally. My dog is doing fine now due to their immediate care. Time was of the essence in getting him seen, and although there were other emergencies at the same time, all pets were treated quickly and with the same urgency as mine.

They are always very courteous and the vets are gentle with my chihuahua mix, Piper. Thank you for being so caring! ????

Dr. Hey and Bristeil were awesome. It was our first time there for a surgery consult and I was amazed at how much time Dr. Hey spent with us during the visit. He also took the time to call me back 3 times the next day to go over a possible medication he was looking into for our dog. I wish we lived closer to this clinic because, although we really like our regular vet, the attention we received here was over the top. We have complete confidence in the care our dog will get when he goes in for surgery with Dr. Hey. Would definitely recommend!

Great experience with Deerfield Animal Hospital! I was very impressed with being seen without a wait and the staff was very sweet & knowledgeable. Being a new puppy owner, Dr. Gradel was very thorough, professional and showed he really cared! Lastly, the post week follow-up call was everything too…They really put their clients as first priority! Highly recommended!

Got a new kitten, found he had worms and blood in his stool. I got pretty worried and needed an appointment but it was saturday and most, if not all vets were either booked or closed. Thankfully Deerfield was able to get me in 30 minutes after I called. After a thorough examination, he was given medicine, and now he's doing great. The vet and technician were very kind and informative. Would recommend Deerfield.

The staff is amazing! They love my dog as if she was their own. They give her kisses, treats, and talk to her in a baby voice! They are also very patient and respectful with me and always answer all of my questions thoroughly. We always have a wonderful experience there! 10/10 recommend.

Best vet ever. We are frequent flyers so we know. Wouldn’t go anywhere else. I wrote the above review 3 years ago. Fast forward to 2021, unfortunately this year we have suffered a great loss of 2 of our elderly pets, Boots (cat) and Marley (dog). To make it worse we lost them just 2 months apart. We were thankful for our 15 and 13 years with them respectfully and they both assured us it was time to let them go. Although we are heartbroken, we found great comfort in the Vets and staff at Deerfield. They handled both cases with the utmost care and empathy. They held our hands through these incredibly tough moments and gave us the peace and confidence we were going to be okay. I want to send special thanks to our longtime Vet, Dr. Halberg for all of her years of care for our 2 babies. We appreciate you always being straight with us on what needed to be done to the very end. Thank you for your kindness and gentleness with Boots in the end. We give thanks for all you do and will continue to do for our remaining pet. I also want to say thank you to Dr. Schade, who we met on that fateful morning last Monday with Marley while Dr. Halberg was out of office. You were wonderful with us and of course with her. You made us feel like we'd known you for years and that made that hard day so much easier. Thank you so much for taking the time to send a card as well. You have our sincere thanks for all you did for Marley. Lastly, thank you to all of the great staff that supports the great Vets at this wonderful clinic. I definitely highly recommend DeerField animal hospital to all my friends. All the Drs and staff are very nice and professional. Especially Dr. Hey who are extremely knowledgeable, professional and always make decision for the best interest of my cats. I trust him 100% with my 15 yr old cat JiaoJiao since he saved her life I consider. I am very grateful!! They charge very reasonable. One time I did have question on my bill, the staff was very patient with me and resolved quickly.. I have to thank Holly for her such warming care to my nervous cat JiaoJiao yesterday. Holly was holding her the whole time. That was very helpful to calm JiaoJiao. I really appreciated.
