The only animal hospital I would take my babies to. Dr Smith is very good with my pets and gives fair prices.

Highly recommend!!! Will tell friends and family! Took my new baby in a 2 month old Beagle. To get a wellness check and make sure she was current on vaccinations. The Dr. answered all questions and concerns. She gave me informative information and took her time with us in the visit. I’m very happy with our visit!!!

Dr. Smith is excellent and has a life time of experience. Vet Techs Nicole and Megan are beyond this world. The compassion and care put into every animal is amazing.

We are still under Covid prevention so the staff here were very accommodating. They came out to our vehicle and even with this July heat they listened intently. They took our pets inside but not without a clear understanding of what they were there for. All this work was done courteously and with a smile. While we did have to wait a bit I came away knowing I made the right choice of veterinarian clinics. This is now my #1 choice for my pets care.

The doctor was very helpful and it was not that busy great overall

Went on a Saturday, when they had walk-ins available. Got seen relatively quickly for how long the line was, and, even though my AC was broken, they didn't make my pet wait in the car with me. I had to stay outside due to their CoViD policy, but that was fine. Cat came back looking immediately improved and was given a detailed plan to help my cat completely recover. My only nitpick is that I wish I'd gotten it in writing in case I forget something or misheard something due to its location off the frontage road. Otherwise, solid experience. Would definitely go back.

We've been loyal customer's of Dr. Smith at Animal Hospital of San Antonio for over 30+ years. We believe that our fur babies are a part of our family and deserve the very best medical care. Over the past 30+ years, Dr. Smith has created the most loving environment for all of our beloved pups. Dr. Smith provides comprehensive care for animals from birth until old age (we currently have one 17 year old pup in our pack). She always puts the health and welfare of the pet first with the most loving compassion to her patients. She's stayed and cried right there with us more than once when it's been time to say goodbye to one of our babies, because she's loved them like her own. In the past few years, I've moved to Dallas, while the remainder of our family and pack have stayed in San Antonio. But Dr. Smith is ALWAYS willing to take my phone call, consult with me over the phone and be there for me when I need her advice, even from Dallas. She's the very best when it comes to finding a vet who you know will put the health, happiness and wellbeing of your pet first. We absolutely adore her and we can't recommend Animal Hospital of San Antonio enough. Dr Smith is honest, straight forward. Rates are extremely reasonable. Extremely pleased to have her for my pets doctor.

My dog has been showing sign & symptoms related to bladder stones (difficulty urinating/bowel). I have since found out he has a different diagnosis but that is besides the point. I called in seeking guidance to perform an ultrasound for my animal, in which this service was not provided. However Dr. Smith stayed on the phone with me for 18 minutes, listening to me as I described my situation to her. She listened to every concern & offered educated advice about how to move forward with his plan of care. She truly truly showed so much compassion & concern for my dog, even knowing I would not be going into her clinic. She was professional, polite, & more than willing to explain every scenario. I genuinely appreciate her care, even if over the phone. Anyone who is looking for a Dr. who will listen and provide care through evidence grounded research, Dr. Smith is the vet for you.

Just called and asked about small seed like things found in my cats bedding, they had no clue not knowing what they were, but then googled and quickly found it is dried tapeworms ... . Unbelievable, no help at all

Took my dog in cause he was scratching his face ferociously. I got a diagnosis, antibiotics, a DETAILED explanation on how to help him get better, and extra helpful tips on how to care for his fur better. All of this in under 30 minutes! Best vet in San Antonio by far!

SO efficient. Cats dont like car rides and HATE doing vet visits even more, but this was SO easy, quick car pick up, 20 minutes and home before the cats new they got all their shots, tags and check over. They were cuddling up to me within the hour. Super great and helpful friendly staff. This veterinarian and office have got it together! Thank u for the easiest part visit EVER!

Always great. I've been to the Big Shiny fancy veterinarians and you will never be able to find the high level of care anywhere else besides your clinic your staff is awesome and you can tell there is genuine compassion for the pets and owners. Today I came twice to refill prescriptions and your staff member rod was so great and Friendly running back and forth between the office in the parking lot

Dr. Rachael Smith at the Animal Hospital of San Antonio has moved me to tears with her work. She has been blessed by the almighty and her hands do his will. I've never felt this way in my life till she took off the bandages on my standard poodle rescue to see his infection actually responding so well to treatment. In under 48 hours after her treating his infected joints filled with MRSA (flesh eating bacteria) , we came back for a bandage change and by the grace of god new flesh completely covered his bones, he stopped limping, he started to be able to jump in the car.. a true unadulterated miracle. This woman is passionate, compassionate, and very ,very good at what she does. She has gifted hands and the Lord has blessed her and blessed us that she is an instrument of modern medicine to perform these miracles. Unfortunately even though he's been getting better, the wounds are so deep that he still needed surgical intervention.. Hundreds of dollars later here we are having a last minute laser surgery to reduce trauma, and within minutes inch deep wounds became shallow her laser treatments have the most amazing results I've ever seen in my life. but if you have any kind of animal that you love, any fur babies, and are strapped for cash, please I urge you to bring them to a vet who has a huge heart and is willing to work with what you have to help heal your furry family members, bring them to Dr Raechel Smith and get ready to watch this amazing woman work with you one on one . 90000/10 recommend totally worth it. Doesn't hurt that my Jack Jack adores her and her staff!!

Dr Smith is one of the best vets that I've ever had the pleasure to meet. Her sense of humor, personality and compassion for her patients is above reproach and I suggest her to anyone that asks. Some of the best prices in San Antonio to boot!
