I just don't understand why do you have to pay that much for adoption, it looks like you actually buying a mascot.

Absolute joke of a facility. They want to do everything through email and take a week to get anything done. They shouldn’t even call this a rescue cause that week they take could mean life or death for the fury creatures we love. Your better off working with the spca

Sweet and loving community of volunteers who connected us with a litter of rescue puppies. Can't wait to welcome her to her new home!

I wasn’t able to adopt a dog but everyone was very helpful and nice. I would 100% recommend this place.

I'll start with a positive: their application - while lengthy - is thorough. It gives me confidence that they take great pains to make sure the animals will be cared for (and fit with) their adoptive parent(s). But beyond the application, I have been very disappointed with this process. Simply put, they are not timely nor particularly responsive. I submitted an application for an available pup and then didn't hear from them until 5 days later - after which the pup was already adopted. I immediately inquired about another pup (who is still available on the website) and have yet to receive a response (going on another 5 days later). I just know by the time they respond, that pup will have been adopted too, because the lag time is far too long. I understand y'all are a volunteer organization, but the lack of responsiveness has been quite frustrating.

Tldr: go to another shelter. Response time is at a month here. Update 2: received an email after a month of no contact stating there were no good fits. The email prior to the first update provided 3 options to schedule a visit but tmhpr never confirmed the appointment. I called a few more times and gave up. Meanwhile I visited another shelter in nearby Carrollton and was able to get a virtual appointment with a knowledgeable polite counselor who helped me find a good fit. The entire process there took under 3 days from my initial intake form to taking the dog home and the fee is half of what tmhpr charges. Go elsewhere. Update: I received a response and am in the process of coordinating a visit with a dog. Not responsive. I filled out an application to meet a dog about 2 weeks ago. I have called and emailed multiple times but have not gotten ANY response. I am aware that this is a volunteer organization but as far as I can tell there aren't any volunteers. I will update this review if I get a response.

I love take me home pet Rescue! They have a wonderful organization from start to finish. The pets are well taken cared of from their foster families. The process of meet n greet is very professional, while your falling in love with your future fur baby! I got mine there and have been happy since.

It would appear that they are not really in the business of adopting out pets. Found one I wanted very much and called and called to make sure he was still there. Volunteer told me they could not figure out why he was not adopted and was glad I was interested. But the application process is absurd: they work against getting animals adopted by the pettiness and they are not quick at all. Always the excuse that they are volunteers. I really wanted to care for that animal for the rest of his life, evidently I do not meet their ridiculous standards. They were more judgmental than helpful. The Board that writes their adoption protocols needs to review their facts because they are operating on misinformation. Being intrusive into the medical history of the animal I already own is by no means is an indicator of my ability to be a responsible pet owner. They might as well shutter their doors because they are not helping anyone. In the big picture, they did not harm me, but cost him a fur ever home.Shame on you for putting yourself out as helping animals when you hinder the process of getting them in to proper homes.

Follow them on Instagram to find out more. Nice people, committed people dedicated to fostering dogs and cats and getting them in good homes. They have connections with a veterinarian who helps you get all the shots, surgeries, meds you need to have a healthy animal in your home.

I got my cat Princess from Take Me Home in the summer of 2013. What a great cat!!! She was everything promised and more. My other cat, Simon, put on the mother of all hissy fits when I first brought Princess home, but she was so well adjusted to other animals that she wasn't at all impressed. It took years, really, but she and Simon are actually pretty good friends these days. What a Princess!
