I called before arriving to ask about the waitlist, said i could come in. But once I arrived she said she can’t take any more pets in which is odd because this is an urgent care, she could’ve at least put us in a waitlist. I understand that this is an urgent care and patients are taken care of in a first come first serve basis but what made my day even worse was the way receptionist handled this. I believe that people that work in urgent care should have a little compassion and humility because you don’t know what the patient or in this case the pet owners are going through. I usually never leave reviews on anything but i had to on this one because it was possibly one of the worst customer service I’ve ever received.

Took my fur baby to this location urgently for the first time because I could confidently tell he wasn’t feeling well. They got us in pretty quickly and all of the staff including the vet was perfectly pleasant and emphatic. Would come again if needed.

They took good care of my baby Peaches. The doggy nurses and doggy doctor was so patient and kind with her. She had a bad ear infection and treated her with care. Front desk doggy secretary was sweet as well. It being a cold Sunday, every one was amazing.

We had to say goodbye to our lil buddy and took her here to have it done, after passing on a few other places. This place and these guys were a class act from top to bottom. Such a difficult thing to do and these guys handled every step with compassion and class. We were treated with kindness and empathy by the front desk, the techs and the Dr.

Our dog got sick on Saturday morning. We were looking for an emergency vet and MedVet was recommended. I was so worried since it wasn't our vet, would our guy get the best care, will it be super expensive etc. Turns out our 7 year old pup was internally bleeding because of a tumor. We had to euthanize him. What a shock! Well another shock was how well we were treated and I know my guy was in the best hands all the way through to the end. I was so relieved we were treated so well. I highly recommend them. Seriously the whole staff has to have some of the hardest jobs and they were all amazing. I feel the pricing was fair.

We had our dog Sophie for over 16 1/2 years. Through those years things would come up on the weekend or night and we needed to bring Sophie to urgent care. The staff and Dr's at this location were always amazing. We would go in worried dog parents and come out feeling comforted knowing Sophie got the best care possible. When Sophie's kidney disease presented itself, in the last couple months of her life, we had to bring her in for hydration and we were treated with so much love and care. We needed to change Sophie's regular vet during that time as we were unhappy with them, Med Vet recommended the perfect vet for Sophie and for us. Med Vet made Sophie's final days much more easy and we appreciate that. We now have a new puppy and if need for urgent care arises with her we will not hesitate to us them again.

When my dog's eye was suddenly inflamed and dripping discharge on a Sunday, I panicked about eye damage if I waited until my vet opened on Monday. I was so glad I went in, because she had a cornea ulceration and was in great pain. I never used an urgent care clinic for an animal, so I was worried it would be subpar care and overpriced. It was expensive, but I felt it was reasonably priced for the treatment. My biggest surprise was how NICE the staff was. They got down on the floor with my pup and were so gentle with her. Even the office staff was so friendly, which is unheard of for me in any kind of medical clinic. I left with VERY clear instructions and even a description of her diagnosis so I could communicate it to her regular vet. I just had the best experience here. Of course, I'd like to avoid urgent care in the future, but I'm so glad to know this place exists and I would absolutely use them again. My dog's eye is already looking so much better and she slept comfortably Sunday night on pain pills.

10\10 recommend. My cat had some issues come up that needed immediate attn. We moved and don't have a new vet and too far to go to Frisco for am urgent visit. I was very nervous being our 1st time and not bei g able to go in due to Covid. When I say ALL of the staff is PHENOMINAL, it is an understatement. Everyone I spoke with was so nice, compassionate and truly caring. The vet was very informative and thorough, she made she I understood everything and helped me make informed decisions. We went in to learn how to do subcutaneous fluids and were instructed greatly, to the point that I feel confident I can do it tomorrow. I was so happy when they brought my cat in, you would've thought he lived there. He was at ease and very comfortable which is shocking because he hides from new people. So happy I found MedVet.! Thank you and your staff for all you do! Sirius is starting to feel better and is already eating and drinking!

The staff here are awesome and would definitely recommend them. They have switched from an all night emergency clinic to an urgent care open until 10 PM but fortunately we needed to bring our cat in for help on a Saturday evening so it worked out well. The staff are awesome and the doctor worked with us to make sure our cat received the best care. In the past they have always reported our visits to our regular vet so that they could followup with us.

After our Vet of 16 years couldn’t see our dog in an emergency situation, we felt distraught but we’re recommended to MedVet - Richardson by a friend. Dr. Hillary Hellstern at MedVet examined our dog and took great care of Max during the visit. Dr. Hellstern was thorough, methodical, and really cares for the pets that come to MedVet. I told my wife, I wish we could have MedVet as our primary Vet, that’s how great they were to us and our dog Max. I highly recommend MedVet - Richardson if you need emergency care for your pet. The cost was not unreasonable. 5 stars!

I took my fur baby to them today for an emergency surgery after a dog fight and they were so wonderful and helpful. Everyone I spoke with was so kind and professional. They really put me at ease in what was a scary situation.

MedVet had been our emergency vet of choice in the past. However, they are now no longer an actual emergency location. They've moved to an "urgent care" model. They are only open from 10 am to 10 pm. They may be of some use on a weekend or holiday for a minor issue that still cant quite wait till your normal vet is open. But if your pet has anything that may be more severe, require hospitalization, or it is a weekday after your normal vet closes, you'll be better served going to an actual emergency vet location. If you come here, you'll still be paying inflated emergency vet prices, but may end up having to take your pet elsewhere for additional care.

I have a friend who brought her Frenchie here with severe bite marks on his legs and instead of x-rays being performed (which is standard procedure i am pretty sure) they sent him home with minimal treatment. He is now having to have his leg amputated because the infection got into his BROKEN leg. Had they ran the necessary tests he wouldn't have suffered needlessly. These people consider pets to be property instead of family. After calling multiple times they deny any accountability and even hung up on her twice. Do not bring your pets here!!! Horrible service and treatment!!!

I'm incredibly thankful for how compassionate MedVet Richardson was in treating us and our feline leukemia-positive cat Wonton this week. They stayed open over an hour after closing time to find a new hospital for Wonton, and they waited for us when our car broke down outside of their building. The vet also shared some kind words which I still think about. Thank you for everything.

MedVet is probably the best emergency vet clinic to go to. They are open at times when other normal vet clinics are closed, which makes them so reliable. They are even open 24 hours on holidays. They took such great care of my dog and were so personable and helpful. I never felt rushed or waited too long. Thank you so much for making my puppy so comfortable.

Great vets. Very thorough. We’ve taken both cats here in the late hours of the night and gotten great service every time.

Unfortunately we had to visit at 3 am to say goodbye to our baby. They were very compassionate and let us take our time with him. I do recommend them. Hope you don't need them, but if you do it's a great place to go.

This review is a long time coming. I haven't written it because I've been in denial about the death of my beloved dog, Sunday, back in December. I haven't wanted to think about it. She was almost 13 and she meant the world to me. She had a large mass on her spleen. We woke up to her passed out, eyes open, but unresponsive. We rushed her to the nearest emergency vet (MedVet Richardson). We were allowed to go in, despite COVID precautions, as she was dying. The emergency vet had done imaging and told us that the mass had ruptured and she was bleeding internally. The vet, Dr. Hellstern, was an angel. She was wonderfully compassionate and gave us all the time we needed. She made a very difficult situation easier for us. We said we would like Sunday cremated, but weren't asked about pawprints or choice of urn, etc. Thus, I was expecting to pick up her remains in a cheap plastic container. We were very happy/surprised to pick her up in a beautiful wooden box with a nameplate, along with a plaster pawprint. Additionally, Medvet mailed us a condolences card signed by all the staff and 2 ink footprints. They really went above and beyond. I would highly recommend if you find yourself in this situation.

Certainly not the closest emergency vet to me, but well worth the drive! I appreciate that they keep you updated on what is going on with your pet since you aren't allowed in the building, and the price is right. The vet that I had on the two occasions I had to bring my cat in was very nice and thorough in explaining things, she also added a little humor which made me feel much less anxious. I'm glad to know that there is a dependable place I can bring my pets if they (God forbid) have another emergency. Thank you guys!!

My malinois was having an allergic reaction yesterday, exposed to something in the backyard. She had some pretty bad swelling with bumps by her eyes. I called Medvet Richardson, they took my info in a pleasant manner and were able to see her pretty quickly. Upon arrival, they followed their covid protocol and came outside for her while we waited in the car. My dog is usually timid with strangers but they were able to handle her well and gave her the shot she needed. They communicated the entire process well over the phone. She is doing much better now thanks to the vet's knowledge and assistance with everything.

First time here. The man who answered the call was concise but friendly. He took my information over the phone while I was on my way to the vet with my dog. They were quick, they called every few minutes to get information, told me about his check up and then the after care. When I learned more about what caused Atticus' emergency, I was able to call them again and ask for what precautions I should take this evening. I'm extremely thankful that they are close by and very thankful with how professional and friendly they were.

Unfortunately things always seem to happen on a weekend but through our great vet,The vet house.they recommended MedVet. Our Charlie woke up early Sunday very sick with a fever of 107.1. MedVet Richardson dr. Olson was amazing along with all the staff. They took the best care and saved our boy. Shar-pei fever is a nightmare but the amazing staff and drs here and at the Dallas location ,which he was transferred to for internal medicine were AMAZING! Yes, vet care especially emergencies are expensive but the quality of care is absolutely worth it. They worked closely with us on everything with Charlie including financially. 4 days later and he’s doing great. They saved him and got us the diagnosis we needed to plan for his future. We couldn’t be more grateful. We will never go anywhere else with our fur babies.

My baby boy Phillip was hit by a car. They took excellent care of him. Thank God he doesnt need a surgery. They got me in and it was worth the drive from Sherman to them. Excellent staff was so kind. I definitely recommend taking your dog to this very kind and loving animal emergency vet. The doctors there called me and kept me informed throughout his entire visit. I saw the other posts but people posts....need to understand if you have a animal is not their fault the animal passed. With all things we give love knowing anyone or any animal passing.I did not have a bad experiences. Most of these bad reviews were lack of money. It costs to have an animal. If it was a family member you don't hesitate. Neither would I when it comes to such love for our animals. If you can't afford it...save up because one day you may need to tap into those funds. I can't no re- enterate take them here even if you have doubts. Best place as I would give 10 stars.

Our dog had impaled himself on a steel pole. We had taken him into a private Vet when it happened and the y saved his life, but the wound repair was poor, the wound was tearing, it was bleeding and was an open wound with no drain. We went to MEDVET- RICHARDSON and they repaired his stitches and wound remarkably. They took our pet back almost immediately and let us know he would be there for awhile so we didn't wait. Their care was fabulous and they communicated to us many times during the next 2 weeks - they sent us care plans to keep us updated at all times of the care and the estimated charges. THEY WERE FABULOUS AND WE WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND MEDVET!!! They transferred us to the Dallas MEDVET because they had the surgical team at that location. The were WONDERFUL!!!

Really bad experience. They dropped my 15 year old dog and did not tell me until I asked about the bruises. $3,000.00 for less than 10 hours and they bruised my senior dog. Would NOT recommend

My daughter took her pet there, She was told that it would be best to put her baby down, he was misdiagnosed, after an outrageous amount of money (over 6 k) they took her baby to a regular vet who diagnosed the issue and the he is doing fine! if you care about your pets and your money I would think twice before going here. They even ask for a huge deposit upfront before they work on your sick pet. At a time when emotionally you want to do all you can for your sick animal. Something is seriously wrong here. I guess big business/money is more important than caring for your clients and their pets.

Please do not go there, they just want the money and kill your pet. I had a the worst experience ever, the staff do not have empathy or moral because they do not have the right training.
