I followed Dr. Carman to this location from Hillside Veterinary Clinic and I'm so happy we did. It puts me at such ease to know she can remember us and give us attention without feeling rushed between emergencies. Hillside Veterinary is good, but they are so overwhelmed with emergencies, and we never saw the same doctor. Coming to Canyon Creek has been the best thing for my senior pups continued care. They have an exceptional front desk receptionist who always puts a smile on my face. The facility is clean, quiet and full of comfort and reassurance. Happy to make the trip out here for our fur baby.

I am updating my 7 year old review after seeing some of the comments regarding Dr. Amanda Mills. We have been with Dr. Mills since the beginning, we currently have 3 dogs (we lost one a few months ago) and she is absolutely the best vet we have ever had. We have rescue dogs, a couple of them with serious health issues. Dr. Mills, along with the other vets at her clinic, has been wonderful with every single one of our dogs and with us. I want everyone to know that Dr. Mills is compassionate, I cannot comprehend the remarks saying that she is not. She loves dogs (I'm sure she loves all animals) and is always extremely thorough and is there anytime we need a consultation, follow up or just need to talk about what the next step should be, including calling her many times on her phone. I would never consider another vet, Canyon Creek Animal Clinic is that good. All in all I must say that Dr. Mills is wonderful - she is intelligent, knows her business, kind, compassionate and we are lucky we have her. She is A+ and so is her clinic. I have had dogs my entire life, many years now, and she is the best we've ever had. Robin Mullen I recommend this clinic to absolutely everyone. I am a long time customer and liked both Dr. Humphries and the new vet Dr. Mills. She and her staff are wonderful! My dogs (I have three large dogs) are well cared for and shots/exams/etc. are handled easily and quickly. One of my dogs recently cut her head on our grill and required staples. The surgery went well as did the recovery. Dr. Mills truly cares about the animals she treats. Dr. Mills and her staff are not only great with my dogs but they are a comforting presence to the owner. They go out of their way to assist in whatever my dogs need. I can't recommend them enough, they are great!

This review has been long over due. I took my dog there initially to have his paw checked out because he had abnormal swelling, he was loosing so much hair and his skin was so dry and crusty. Honestly I was worried we were going to loose him. We use to take him to the Corner Vet in Plano that closed down out of nowhere, I'm not sure if it was pre-pandemic or because of the pandemic. But the whole time they had him as a patient they would only prescribe topical medications, fungal shampoos and allergy medicine. But nothing really changed. Honestly I am so glad they closed or else I wouldn't have even thought of looking elsewhere. We started visiting Dr. Sharp for a little over 3 months now and she has done so much for my dog in a short span of time while the other place we use to go couldn't even get him close to where he is now in the 2-3 years we visited that office. His paw is so close to being back to normal, his hair is growing back, he is actually playing and running more, he also sleeps on his back now, he hasn't done that in almost 4 years! honestly I thought his low energy was due to his age but it was definitely more than that. My dog is almost 12 years old and with Dr. Sharp's care, I'm sure we will have him around for so much longer. My daughter's and I couldn't thank everyone there enough. Especially my oldest, they actually grew up together ❤ I attached some Before and after pics, it's not pretty but it's reality.... you can actually see the shape of his paw again!! I attached some fun pics of him as well with my eldest as a puppy to a more recent pic... he was confused ???? ????

Super nice staff. Don't want so many vaccines for my pet.

My beloved cat, Jiji has seen this vet since she was a kitten. Never have I had any concerns about the care they were providing her until my visit this past week. She had been experiencing symptoms of coughing and wheezing that were identical to the sounds of an asthmatic cat. The visit with the actual vet took maybe 10 minutes just for them to tell me they "didn't know what it was" and will just "give her an antibiotic shot and if it continues come back" after I showed them videos of the sounds of her coughing and wheezing. I knew that it was more serious than what they made it out to be so I decided to seek a second opinion less than a week later. This vet, Willow Bend Veterinary Clinic, immediately told me that feline asthma was a strong possibility. To make sure, they kept her to take her blood and do an X-ray. These tests revealed that it was not asthma, but a herniated diaphragm. She will need a sonogram and surgery. For Canyon Creek to let me leave so easily with my cat who was obviously in pain and struggling, is so disappointing and scary. My cat will no longer be a patient here and neither will my mothers.

Our family cannot say enough great things about Dr. Ferrell and her team at Canyon Creek Animal Clinic. Her love and compassion for animals shines through. She is knowledgeable and thorough—each visit, we pepper her with questions and concerns, and she always explains each decision and each answer while helping us make the best choices for our English Bulldog. And we admire her work ethic— she never stops, yet she always seems to slow down to give you and your pet the attention you deserve during each visit. Quite simply, Dr. Ferrell is a compassionate, talented, well-educated doctor who works really, really hard. It’s tough to top that combo! Aside from Dr. Ferrell, the staff have been great—responsive, friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. And other doctors on the team do great work, too. My parents’ dog is a patient of Dr. Westra, and they are just as impressed! We couldn’t recommend the entire clinic more.

Beware. If you call they will put you on "hold" even if you are outside and can literally see them putting stuff away. Horrible, then staff inside are rude and act like it was someone else answering phones (and not them, only people in the front). I had an appointment at 3:00 pm, and did not get seen until 3:15. The worst part is all week I called and was also put on hold. It's a pattern that is gross and unacceptable. Will not be back. Other than that, they did a decent job with nail trim

Best vets ever... My dogs are elderly but Dr Farrell always has the best ideas for their ongoing care...and takes the time to listen.

I have never had a bad experience with Canyon Creek. Their vets and vet techs are extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and the front desk/receptionists are always willing to go the extra mile to make sure they can get you in. There have been multiple times they have seen my dog same day. I believe they are down a vet right now so they are a little more booked up than normal, so I would recommend calling to make an appointment a week or so in advanced if you just need a general appointment! The inside of the building is always absolutely spotless. Doesn’t have the typical “vet” smell at all and really feels homey. Never feel scammed or taken advantage of, and that’s a good feeling. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to call home for all their veterinary needs!

I took a recent shelter cat here last month and had a great experience with Dr. Ferrell. So when another cat was up for her annual, I took her here as well. Big mistake! This time I saw Dr. Mills, who apparently likes neither cats nor humans. I don't exaggerate when I say she did not have a single kind word for me or my cat. Yes, my cat is overweight, but that doesn't call for bullying and belittling the client. Whatever issues my cats may have, they're bound to fare better with regular veterinary attention, which they certainly won't be getting from Dr. Mills. Give her a negative 1 on a scale of 1 to 5.

If/when the medical director feels it's time to release a patient from their care, keep it between the clinic and the patient's owner. It's unethical, not to mention bullying behavior, to say you "are notifying Prestonwood Pet Clinic, Hillside Veterinary Clinic, Abrams Forest Veterinary Clinic, Preston Royal Veterinary Clinic, Rowlett Veterinary Clinic, Liberty Grove Animal Hospital, and Town East Animal Hospital. We will seek legal action for slander and for making it her mission to keep my sister's dog from getting medical care. You might want to fact check your own records and documentation which clearly has 4 no-shows dated. That's far from the 11 times your disturbing letter states that was attached to my sister's dogs medical records. Shame on you CCAC.

Dr. Mills is genuinely concerned for the safety of the animals. She is super sweet and professional. I love the way she takes care of my dog when we go in. The facility is very clean and they are always on time. She doesn’t try to add on a bunch of meds that I can get over the counter first. She always has me try things over the counter before we jump right into shots or other potentially expensive things. Thank you for taking care of my pup!

Canyon creek is my best vet experience ever. I've got 4 dogs and they are so kind and so thorough with every dog. They really take their time with each pet and are great at explaining things after they've looked at your pet. Also, the cost is extremely reasonable for such a nice clinic. Really the best vet experience in the area.

Amazing experience here! Took my dog in for a vaccine shot and was done in less than 20 minutes. The only weird thing is that they make you wait in your car and can't go in the building. Not sure what that's about since COVID scare tactics are over and all businesses are back to 100% in Texas.

Long story short, Amanda at this animal clinic gave us the wrong heart worm medicine for our kitten and had a large attitude about it. If you go here I’d make sure to double-check they gave you the right medicine for your pet before leaving.

Just spoke to an Amanda, and she was short. Did not appreciate the lack of empathy.

I love this vet office!! Always wonderful to me and my pup: helpful, not judgemental, and they truly love their patients. Everyone I've recommended here has had an equally good experience, and I will continue bringing my own animals here!!

Another great visit at this clinic for yearly shots and check-up for our cat. They are still doing curbside, and it works really well.

We had a dog that apparently had a massive stroke. He was having seizures and suffering terribly. We called on a Sunday morning to request an appointment to end his suffering. They worked us in. They were kind, compassionate, and caring in our time of need. Cost was reasonable. Service was excellent. Thank God for people who care about suffering pets and their people!
