We got a lovely young black cat named Priscilla we had an excellent experience with the staff on hand and had a painless adoption process that went very quick and easy thanks for everything!

They won't allow you to adopt any pet you want. We picked out dog we wanted, they said no, you can't adopt him. Heartbreak but we selected then, a different dog and the woman said no. Then she said we could only adopt one of their puppies. We do not want a puppy and had decided long ago that an older dog would be better for our household. We had to leave. My personal belief is that they steer you towards certain pets they "like" based on their own personal preferences. Disgusting.

Very professional, caring.discreet and informative. They seem to really know about and enjoy their jobs and are upbeat.

Was so surprised at how many wonderful dogs and cats were here! Me and my 3 kids were ready to finally get our first dog and let me tell you, our puppy Jordy found us. They must have taken great care of him because he is the sweetest dog. He has been home for 4 days now and it has been so incredible. I would definitely recommend Plano animal services to anyone looking for a furry friend! Thank you for giving us the best addition to our family!!!

Plano lost or may have killed one of our puppies while they were in protective custody.

Clean and friendly staff. The animals are well taken care of they just need forever homes. I wish I had a large farm, I would adopt them all. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

I came into this place with a homeless cat. And I was under a lot of stress because no one else would take him. They were very nice about the whole situation and took the cat. I definitely would recommend adopting from here!

Need more smaller dogs ????

Jacob, the front desk clerk is very unprofessional and rude. We called to ask about adopting a dog, Jacob picked up and was very short with us. However, we still gave this shelter a visit. We got there, Jacob was sitting at the front desk, we walked up to him to ask to see the one dog that we were interested in (that we told him on the phone about). Unfortunately, we did not even get to see the dog because of some issues that they did not inform us about prior to the visitation. I confronted him and asked why did you not inform us about this issue before hand. We live 1 hour away and have a tight schedule. He was still very rude and instead of talking with us, he has his other co workers do the talking. Overall, I would just think that the staff here could have have a more welcoming attitude towards their guests. I still don’t understand why they behaved the way they did. Would not recommend. 0 star.

I adopted this sweet baby at the Plano animal shelter 12 years ago- best decision. Adopting is such a blessing!!

Always helpful and friendly staff

Very unhelpful, and to be honest who would want to adopt from unfriendly people. I didn’t get her name but she is an older lady with glasses, for the past few days I’ve been calling to check on some kittens and for some reason I get her every time and she is very rude. She sits behind the desk and refuses to assist and instead says well you need you check.... I thought that was her job?

So many dogs to see, they seem very happy and well fed, will definitely go there again when I'm ready!

So....We went to take are dog back after a couple of months close to a whole year because we were having family issues and they said that we could put him on hold for a week. We even paid them to hold him. BUT get this we went back before the whole week was over and they said that he got adopted.???????? We were heart broken. Soooo if someone could help me find him that would be great! His name was Koda Bear and we never Re-named him so they might have his file. Thank you for reading this to the end. He is black/white, he is a mixed breed with border collie and blue heeler and some black lab. This was at the end of 2019 going into the beginning of 2020. So not to long ago.

They love and take care of the animals

I have adopted a dog and a cat here. Love my animals but it's a mixed review on staff... Some are friendly while others ignore you.

This shelter, and it’s staff, are amazing and have handled the pressures of the last year extremely well. I’ve personally volunteered here before COVID and was amazed how much they cared about every animal and how they went above and beyond to make sure they were getting the attention they needed. Between myself and my family we have adopted at least 5 animals (dogs and cats) from this shelter. I’ve found the staff to be willing to answer questions to the extent they have the answers (not every staff member is going to spend time with every animal, especially those adopted quickly, so sometimes the first person you talk to doesn’t have answers besides what is listed in the animals profile, especially with how quickly animals have been getting adopted the past year), but also willing to work with you to assure the animal and you find the right fit to avoid returns of adopted animals which is extremely traumatic to an animal. My house is full of furbabies at this point, but I wouldn’t hesitate to adopt from them or recommend adopting from them to anyone.

Went there last weekend to get a dog that was on the website. Was told that due to a medical issue we couldn't meet with him or take him home. I was specifically told that our best bet was to call every morning to check on his status. We did that and were told that he would be evaluated next Tuesday and to keep calling. Last night they took the dogs picture down. My wife called this morning and they told her that they took his picture down due to the medical issues. They were also clearly annoyed that my wife called again....After telling us to do so. We adopted another dog this evening. She is home with us now. All in all, the customer service of this place leaves alot to be desired.

Awesome Experience!!! I came in to look for a new fur baby for my family! I was helped by a very sweet lady named Sobriety! She helped me look at each available pup, explaining the pros & cons. Although I didn’t find what I was looking for, I am certainly returning next week! Thank You for your help Sobriety! You gave me the perfect customer service experience & forever gained a customer!
