LaPawz Plano, Texas

We have been loyal customers of La Pawz for over two years, and this was one of the few places our furbaby actually looked forward to visiting. We had a regular grooming earlier this month and they appeared fully staffed and busy as usual. Four days ago, I called and attempted to set up an appointment for boarding and the owner answered and claimed they were fully booked for the holidays. The next day I received a notice that grooming was no longer available while they hired new staff, and then yesterday a confusing notice that La Pawz was closing permanently, effective immediately. The apparent speed of the business’ closure and the conflicting messages from the owner come as a surprise and a disappointment to say the least. I only hope that Kelsey and the rest of the La Pawz staff who have treated us so well over the years come out okay, particularly with the holidays approaching.

I had an incredible experience today at La Pawz. I recently tried to trim my dogs nails myself and cut one way too short. It bled everywhere and was a pain. After that I begrudgingly decided to pay a pro to do it. La Pawz did not disappoint. You have to walk in if you only want a nail trim, you can't make an appointment. I expected to be waiting a while since that's typically what happens with walk in services. The whole process - paperwork, payment, and trim - took less than 10 minutes total. Everyone at La Pawz was incredible. My dog usually barks and bites when I try to cut his nails myself, but he was incredibly calm for the staff. Thank you La Pawz for the great experience. You've definitely made a repeat customer out of me.

I have been taking my rescue dog to them for a year now. He is so happy when we get there!!! I feel so good knowing he is being taken good care of!!!Sunny is the BEST!!! her name is so appropriate! Kash just loves her!!! great place for your best friends!!!

Love how they treat the doggies and all their services available for dogs. I think their prices are comparable to this area but also would pay extra just to be certain my dogs were well taken care of. And watch out the other business with an almost exact same name is not that good, 1 of my dogs came back from there looking like she had been beat up by the look on her face. It was horrible to see my dog so upset and not know why.

They were so inconvenient that I just changed groomers to a place that is so much easier to deal with. I tried a couple weeks ago to book an appointment online. When I hit book I got the same error message I always do telling me my dog needs his shots (no he doesn't, he is not due for them until 2022!!). I have emailed copies of his vaccination records 3 TIMES, I have walked them in TWICE and had the front desk person scan them and verify he is fully vaccinated to which I was told I would not have to provide them again because they are putting his due date in his file and yet I keep getting told my dog needs shots Ave cannot easily book him appointment. Why these records in 5 times of providing them have not been saved in my dogs file I don't know.... I got the typical email saying they will not make me an appointment until I provide the records again to which I responded with his vaccination records AGAIN and asked if his proof of vaccination could be finally saved to his file this time. I guess that was too big of an ask for them to save his records because I then got FULLY IGNORED!! No response, nothing. I gave them 3 business days to respond and when they failed to do so I booked another groomer who did as good of, if not better job than they did and as they did and as a bonus they cost me less ????

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I was very up front about my shih-tzu being 16 and having doggy dementia. I was also up front about our last groomers saying it would better to have our vet groom my dog. My vet does not groom dogs which led me to La Pawz. I told them that I could give him medicine before grooming and they said they groomed lots of dogs that had to take medicine for grooming. Once I got to the appointment the groomer refused to groom my dog and didn't even have the decency to tell me why she wouldn't groom my dog. This place has a lot to learn about customer service. If you're not sure you can groom the dog schedule a consultation!

The employees love dogs and everyone has a ball. I really recommend this business.

Everybody is amazing wouldn't take my dog anywhere else they are extremely patient and I should know because Bernie Mac my GSD isn't the best with others

I can’t rave enough about LA PAWZ! My husband and I recently moved to Plano, and our one year older goldendoodle Astro, suddenly didn’t have all his besties near him. We decided to try out daycare, as he is very energetic and needs the play time.They treat him as their own, and he is so happy to go! THANK YOU THANK YOU!

They are very friendly. We have been taking our dog to this place ever since they opened. The owner is so kind. He cares for all the fur babies out there. Their groomer is excellent. I now only want them to do my dog’s grooming. Our dog, Blue, always comes back home happy like he’s been a vacation better than ours. Lol. Besides all the understandable human minor hiccups they had during the pandemic they still strive hard to meet the needs of your beloved pet. They take ownership and accountability of the type of service and care they provide. Give them a try, and you’ll be surprised how genuine and sincere they are. We love them!

They made it so easy for our dogs to get their nails trimmed. we pulled up outside, I called and they took each dog in by themselves. brought the dog back out and took the second dog. so convenient with keeping our social distance at this time. I will go back again!

La Pawz has always done a wonderful job of grooming my pomeranian mix and she is always happy to arrive there and excited to see the groomers. She is a bit anxious and has separation anxiety but I dont ever worry about grooming or boarding her here as they have earned mine and her trust. Highly recommend trying them out if you have dog grooming/boarding needs.

I am writing this review for La Pawz grooming in Plano off of Parker and Custer. We’ve been taking our pet to this location for years. I can’t praise them enough for their excellent customer service, kind groomers, and attention to detail. We especially like Emily. She’s very patient with our Havanese dog. Tim is very helpful. We only trust them with our dog. Thank you so much!

At first I didn't know how the experience was going to be due to some miscommunication, but it was not la pawz fault. The outcome was amazing, my little fur friend looks amazing!

Very friendly and helpful. Took my cat to get bathed which she is easily scared but she loved their service and they did a great job. Took the time to call me an update me on the grooming. Also gave good product advice to help at home. I would recommend them!

I took my dog to get groomed they did an awful job his fur was uneven. He didn't even look like he was bathed. Is like they shaved him and sprayed him with scented powder. I dont recommend this place. And yes the one on Custer next to Neighborhood Walmart.

This place is the best! I adopted my dog a few months ago so he’s never had a professional grooming before. I was apprehensive about leaving him somewhere but as soon as we got there my worries disappeared. All the girls were super sweet and you can tell that they love dogs. His haircut was adorable and he smelled great. I also had to leave him there for a bit because of my work schedule and they were flexible and worked with me. Will definitely make this our regular groomer. ????

They took such good care of my rescue puppy for her bath and overall it was an amazingly wonderful experience! I’m so happy they provided her free grooming and gave me such great feedback! We will definitely return for more services!

I take my dogs here for grooming. One of my pups is skittish and the folks here are so patient with her. I've gone other places that haven't groomed her because she was so nervous. Also the dogs that are there for daycare are always so happy so they must be treated well.

Was nervous about my 4 mo old dog going to his first grooming but I knew he was in good hands when I left him there. Tim, Emily, and Kelsey were all so kind and put me at ease. Kelsey did an awesome job grooming! She was very thorough and noticed he had a broken tooth. So thankful she saw that and we were able to address it quickly!

The hair cut was certainly not worth $70. His little tear stains were not completely removed and honestly wish I would’ve just cut him at home. The people were friendly and the place is clean. That doesn’t excuse the fact that his teeth do not look like they were brushed and his breath still smells. When I picked him up the lady said “oh I’ll go give him an extra spritz of breath freshener” after I asked if his teeth were brushed which made me think they weren’t. He also doesn’t smell like he’s been to the groomers at all. His feet were also left all shabby. Unacceptable. I’ve now discovered a lump on his back leg that wasn’t there before so now I have to go get him checked to make sure something isn’t wrong. I would Highly recommened staying away from here if you care about your dog at all.

Always appreciative of the staff b/c they genuinely care about their furry clients! They are gentle & used to dealing w/ dogs of different temperaments.

We had such a great experience here! My husband and I took our 7 months old German Shepherd and 3 year old terrier in to be groomed and were so happy with the care our fur babies received. This was our shepherds first time at the groomers so I was nervous but the staff was very friendly and reassuring. They are very strict with the vaccine policy, which I appreciate because they obviously care about the health/safety of their staff and fury clients. They did a great job on a full body hair cut for our terrier complete with a pink bow. All of the staff we encountered were super friendly! I highly recommend LaPawz!!
