They are very kind and empathetic. We had to bring our 19 yr old cat to them as a new patient (recently moved to area) for end of life care. They treated our sweet girl with love and respect ❤️

Okay experience. Very expensive. Many times insurance will not cover because it's overpriced service.

The most helpful and caring people I have ever come in contact with! Vets actually listened to what I had to say and were very helpful. I always leave with new information and have even received calls to follow up after visits. The people here clearly care and will take good care of your animals.

Female vet was nice. My cat was diagnosed with Mycoplasma and sadly, he wasn’t given the correct antibiotic. He ended up in the hospital for 2 days. Maybe it’s an isolated incident but I won’t be going back. My baby is too important to me. The animal hospital (a different place) gave him the right med immediately and his temp went down pretty soon. He is now happy and running around at home.

Just recently relocated back to the area, I was able to get my two fur babies (guinea pig and Chihuahua mix) taken care of. The staff were friendly and I felt that I can count on them to take care of the kiddos. Will be coming back and suggest this location to friends! ????

My little shi tzu had his first appointment with Dr. Pilkington at Custer McDermott Veterinary Hospital. This appointment was scheduled as his "annual" check-up however, when Dr. Pilkington began to check him, he found several areas that needed his attention. He spent nearly 2 hours with us, doing necessary lab testing, vaccinations, and giving him a thorough evaluation. This was the very BEST physical exam a vet has ever administered to one of our dogs. He is absolutely a Blue Ribbon, Gold Medal Veterinarian and the practice is, all, a perfect package.

Best docs for my fur babies. Gratis people, superior knowledge. They have kept our cats healthy for over a decade.

Dr. Pilkington is great! He’s very kind and thorough. He has been our vet for over 16 years now and has taken wonderful care of our pets. I highly recommend Custer McDermott Animal Hospital.

May of 2016 my little guy came down with a pancreatic attack. I tried his regular vet and they told me he would have to wait until 4 pm or the next day for an appointment! For pancreatitis!!! I called Custer McDermott and they were able to get us in within the next hour. Dr Whitworths care was excellent! Thanks to her thorough exam and quick response, he was immediately hospitalized and cared for... Update Sept 2021 Dr Whitworth was gone shortly after this review so I chose the new doctor that came in Dr Brewer, who happens to be just as wonderful, but she is only there until 2 pm and not there everyday, so I use Dr LeGrone now when I can. I take my dog to a certain vet because I want my animal to know the person handling and working with them, his history, and what I can expect. However..... Things here have changed quite a bit!!! I called on a Monday morning to make an appointment for my 13 yr old pup that has recurrent ear infections. I was told it would be Friday @ 4:30 pm or next week for an appointment... ???? Why?? Her response,, "They've gotten so busy that that's just how it is now." Wow!! She was rude and very condescending. No other available doctors??? There are 4 to 5 on staff.. Ok. His ear infection could not wait that long. I got frustrated and said no I would have to figure something else out. After more consideration, I called back Tuesday morning and a different person answered the phone and told me the same thing about 3 to 5 days out for an appointment so it would be next week, so I said in response that it left little room for any kind of small emergency issues and her response was "that's what the emergency vet is for!!" ???? What?? This was not an emergency, however it was a needed appointment within the next day or so. She said Dr Brewer was off on Wednesday but she'd ask Dr LeGrone if she could work me in on Wednesday. Great!! When I received a call Wednesday morning however, they wanted me to just drop him off for the day to work him in... Ok... once I arrived within the hour I told them that I was more than happy & willing to wait with my dog in the car no matter if it took 4 hours or 2.. (he's a stressed out chi/min pin and I can't have him losing weight due to unnecessary stress because of his health conditions) but then the little old lady whom I originally spoke with got angry and yelled at me, "it's a drop off" then put me on hold, however sweet Francis took over the call and said that it would be fine for me to do that. By 11 am Dr LeGrone was ready for Jr. During my visit... once in the room, that same very rude and condescending older lady at the front desk spoke loudly enough for all to hear (including myself behind a closed door) how selfish and inconsiderate I was not to wait for an appointment ???? Just wow!!! They swabbed his ears to see if it was fungal or bacterial, which is all I really needed to know. I have meds at home from previous appointments since this is a recurrent issue. Everything was done within 20 minutes, I paid my bill and left. ($109.00) The doctor could have said no, but Dr LeGrone who is awesome, kindly said she would be happy to work him in to her schedule. So, If you need your pup looked at right away, just know the availability here is at least a 4 to 5 day wait. You will need a back up plan!!! Something that would be nice to know... Thank you Dr LeGrone, your compassion for my animal was sincere, and I will be forever grateful; however it's unfortunate that there are those in your office that lack those qualities. Compassion, kindness, respect and understanding goes a long way. Sadly, I will be looking for another vet. This was a 5 star review but it has declined due to the new atmosphere and working conditions.

Dr. LaGrone is an excellent vet. They get back with you, you're not ignored. No long wait time in lobby. Excellent job on cleaning teeth, testing. Very happy with them. Dr. L works on all types of critters also.

I was searching for an office that was clean, large waiting room and safety during Covid-19. CMAH checked all my boxes. My newest addition is an 8 week old Great Pyrenees. I wanted a Vet with more knowledge of raising a giant breed for joint/bone health. Dr Brewer exceeded my expectations. She recommended a food change even after I spent 3 months down the google rabbit hole of feeding!!!! After researching the 3 brands recommended, I changed brands. The office staff and vet tech (sorry, i didn't get her name)were very kind and I am very pleased. I will bring Hoopah back in 4 weeks for more shots. I will also take my other pets there now.

We've taken our dog and 2 of our 3 guinea pigs here and have been very happy. The base visit rate is reasonable staff are friendly, and I always receive a call back in a timely manner. And most importantly, they take good care of our animals. Dr. LaGrone is experienced with guinea pigs; we are grateful to have a specialized vet close by.

Horrible customer service. They made an error scheduling my dog’s appointment and were blaming me for it. Never apologized. The receptionist kept interrupting me on the phone and didn’t let me express my concerns regarding my dog’s visit. They never corrected their mistake and never followed up on my dog.

We have used them for years with several dogs. Always takes time to discuss health and care in detail. When my 13 year old dog was ill, they stayed late to provide care. All of the staff are friendly and willing to help anytime whether in person or on the phone.

We called recently with concerns about our cat and the receptionist was dismissive, impatient, and unhelpful. We brought our cat in once before a few months ago and the vet we worked with was kind and helpful enough. We are just really disappointed about the unkind receptionist and the extra high prices.

I've been taking my pets here since I moved to Allen four/five years ago. Absolutely, love the compassionate care they receive.

I was shocked to find the Yelp reviews that I did when booking Duchess (European Doberman) for her second yearly exam with this location. They are professional, thorough, discuss and additional costs before doing anything, the costs are very reasonable, they have a prescription drop box to accommodate a working schedule, are responsive by email and phone. I mean I could go on. I mean this place is over an hour away from my new house and I think I’d rather make the drive than find another vet.

Best vets. Been using them for years with both my dogs. Excellent service. I especially like the very minimal time in waiting room and other pet interactions. They have a good system and a great referral network.

The staff at Custer McDermott take excellent care of my felines. Most recently I had a concerning issue with my cat and Dr. Sinclair made time in a busy schedule to evaluate and take care of her which I really appreciated. I have always been extremely satisfied with the professionalism, service and genuine caring of my pets.

Dr. Pilkington’s service and care are second to none. He doesn’t make you feel silly for asking numerous questions and has a genuine love for animals. His staff is polite and responsive. We have been seeing him for several years now. We drive over 25 minutes one way to see him because of how professional and kind he is. Our dog has suffered from pancreatitis, and has also needed surgery on his foot from a ripped nail and Dr. Pilkington has taken care of our dog for both issues. We trust him wholeheartedly and will continue to take our dog to him for annuals as well as sick visits as long as we have pets.

I don't love the curbside process but that's the norm right now. Excellent service, a variety of Vets and easy to get to location really makes this place top notch.

I love this practice but am tiring of curbside only. I recently went to the eye doctor, a top Ophthalmologist. 20 patients were effectively and safely moving from one room to another. It can be done. Most willing people have had the vaccine. No one who hasn’t had it yet should be forced to go into the clinic, but there is NO reason to force ALL pet owners to sit outside any longer other than doctors and staff not wanting to wear masks or not wanting to do simple touch surface cleaning after each visit.

Although Covid protocols still make it impossible to meet the doctors and staff personally, I am VERY happy with my two year old Rat Terriers dental cleaning. I look forward to meeting my veterinarian in the near future.

Dr Brewer does an outstanding job. She is very compassionate with her patients. The entire staff is very professional. I highly recommend using them for your pet.
