Very friendly staff. Very clean facility and they seem to have good accommodations and resources to care for the animals. I recently called to see if they could take in a rescue that I had, however they could not accommodate him at the time. But the lady I spoke to you on the phone gave me several recommendations and some very helpful advice.

Lynn was very rude over the phone after I called to recollect some information I was notified of but forgot. Regardless, I am grateful for my dog.

I found a kitten roaming around my neighborhood and crying on thanksgiving so I decided to take her in, feed her and see if I can turn her over after the weekend. She was skinny and you could feel her backbone so I know she’s been homeless for a bit. I shouldn’t feel judged and made to like a horrible human for not keeping her. I have a dog that I feared would kill it otherwise I wouldn’t have turned her over. The staff here are unfriendly and appear judgmental in their actions and questions. I have no regrets, I know I did the humane thing.

Initially I went to this location with our Girl Scout Troop. We called twice before to set this up and they told us what time to be there and that they had stuff planned for us. When we arrived they acted surprised we were there. Talked to the girls less than 5 minutes and left us. It was very weird, they could have just declined a tour. I am also looking for a dog. I looked at the website before hand and had one picked out that I wanted to meet. My daughter made a connection with this dog and we were very excited. Filled out the paperwork, ect. I needed to get my cats up to date on their shots (appointment is today) and then I was supposed to be able to get her. I called to let them know the appointment so I could arrange pickup. They told me she was "tagged for rescue" after I left and I couldn't have her. They told me I would have to contact the rescue but refused to give me any info on the rescue. The only thing they would say is that it is "Houston pet hub". I looked online and could not find any info. Isn't the whole point to get these animals into a good home? My 6 year old connected with this dog and I don't know how to tell her that mama can't make it happen and I don't have a good reason why. We are gonna keep trying to find the dog but I don't have much hope. Thank you Pearland Animal Shelter for nothing. Enjoy our donation.

Our favorite local animal shelter. The employees have a passion for the animals collected or relinquished to their care. We enjoy volunteering often to take care of the dogs and cats housed as well as assist the staff. A worthwhile organization to donate pet food, towels, cleaning supplies, treats and toys to. Adopt don't shop. Looking forward to see the new city shelter being built adjacent to the police station.

I want to start by saying that I appreciate this facility for the job they do and that’s helping the animals off the street. When I initially called and spoke to a woman on the phone she was very sweet and informative. However when arriving I somehow found myself feeling like I was being interrogated. MmThe lady asked me why I didn’t go to a closer store to my house in Houston and why I went to Pearland location even though it’s closest to me. The dog I brought in I found in the HEB parking lot. I understand there are certain things people need to be aware of but it’s ridiculous how I went from feeling great about what I was doing to feeling like I was in trouble for doing it or feeling that I didn’t do the right thing or come to the right place. Right before leaving she tells me that I could be fined if they find out she was owned by me, which is fine, but it was almost as if she thought I was lying, but this is the same woman that questioned why I went the grocery store that I chose to go to. It just wasn’t a pleasant experience. All aside though I’m glad they helped me get that sweet girl off the streets! She didn’t deserve to be left the way she was found. Wishing her and all the fur children at the shelter a furever home.

Seems they were trying to push off cats. I could tell the cat was irritated. I changed my mind

I volunteer here and the staff is always so kind and helpful. The animals are all so kind and deserving of a loving forever family. Even if you sometimes have to clean up kitten messes, it is definitely worth the gratificatiin that comes with volunteering here.

Just called them for a welfare check on some dogs down the street. They sounded chained up. Crying and whining. Thought they were hurt or being abused. Poor things. They were going to check on them. Better safe than sorry. Thank you Animal Control. If you see something, or hear something. Say something...

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to submit an application because their form (that I downloaded over and over) wouldn't take any input). Not tech savvy... But I truly do believe in adoption. (Can't find anyone to help me with the glitch.)

Even though they were closed; as I was reading info posted on the front door, one of the employees took it upon herself to meet me at a side door. She very politely explained Covid era pet licensing procedures as well as my "chip" question. Totally indicative (and just ONE) of the reasons that I live in Pearland! ????❤
