Our kitten Jinx pulled a kitchen chair over on himself in a very unfortunate accident. We rushed him to the West Texas Emergency Vet, they rushed him to the back, and did everything they could for him, we came back the next day, and it was clear he had brain damage, so we gave him another day, to see if he would improve, sadly, he didn't. It became clear that he was suffering from something he wasn't going to be able recover from. We made the tough decision to let him go, and end his suffering, everyone at the clinic was absolutely wonderful, treated our Jinx with the utmost respect, care and love, and treated us the same way. We can't thank them enough for all they did for Jinx, and us during one of the most difficult times of our lives. Jinx was just a baby, 16 weeks old, and it's left a hole in our hearts. Thank you for everything you did for us!!

Had to wait for more than 2 hours, on the other side I think what they care the most is the money they can make and not our pets health.

I have never been more thankful for this veterinary clinic. The ladies up front were quick to help me get my girl into a room and the vet tech and veterinarian were VERY sweet to my old girl. We are in town visiting (this is my hometown) and didn't expect an emergency visit. Thank you so much.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS!!! ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS SOCIALIZING ANDTAKING YOUR MONEY! Most unprofessional vet I have ever seen!!!

They are good people. The vet who helped Penny is Dr. Ann Wills. She is knowledgeable and explains the situation on point. I ended up having to do at home therapy since she had a spinal injury from falling off the bed. She explained that swim therapy would help and even gave me a life jacket for her. They held her overnight on catheter and IV. Prescribed a steroid, pain reliever, and muscle relaxer. My only complaint was the fleas and kennel cough my dog came home with. Thankfully the kennel cough didn’t pass to my other dogs. Still trying to eradicate the flea situation a couple weeks later. Just make sure your dog has flea and tick collar/k9 advantix etc. My youngin has almost bounced back 100% thank you for being here to help us when we can’t get into our regular vet.

Called up to speak to a veterinarian after extremely poor service, refused to give available times for vets out of surgery. Receptionist was extremely rude, talked over me, refused to give any information claimed she couldn’t- then proceeded after extremely rude service to give her name & proceeded to hang up. Now we all know when employees to give their first name claiming it’s “personal info” that the employee is in the wrong because she doesn’t want me complaining about her abhorrent behavior.

I just left this place after waiting 2 hours to only hear the doctor tell the front girl I could leave if I didn’t want to wait when I asked why it was taking so long. Then the girl comes out and tell me the doctor was in a meeting when that was clearly not the case since I heard the doctor tell her that. So much for emergency…. I would t recommend bringing your dogs here for emergencies

The minute we walked in with our puppy Jade, the ladies up front were so quick to get her in to let us know what was going on with her. The ladies and whole staff that evening were so nice, and informative. I would recommend this place to anyone. Just wanted to say Thank you to the staff working Thanksgiving night and for getting our Jade better.????

i understand some of y’all have great experiences but mine will never let me see my sweet girl again. receptionist lady was horrible. she made us stay outside in our vehicles because she “knew” my dog had distemper. she ended up being in critical condition to being poisoned. my boyfriend went in to talk to her and she literally just walked away. my dog suffered for 7+ hours because no one came out to help her. one worker came out and gave my dog the ugliest look ever. how professional! we were put in a room where we had no choice to save her, but to put her down. if the receptionist got to us sooner instead of eating mcdonald’s, my dog would still be here.

This is the worst veteran clinic in America. I don't recommend them to nobody, they wanted to charge me over $ 700 to look at my pitbull they do not care about animals only your money. They would not work with us on payments. And the receptionist are rude and don't talk to you. I am very disappointed.

Took my baby in and waited 6 hours. Last few hours, 4 owners were told, one after another, that their fur babies didn't make it. One of the employees was in front cursing while they chatted up front. We had to ask what was going on for someone to give us an update but instead told us we would have to leave her there. When I called to check on her the following day, I waited 20 minutes on the phone. Never answered and I had to keep calling to try and speak to someone. Was finally told that my baby didn't make it. When we gathered her remains, we inquired about communication and the receptionist decides that was the perfect opportunity to tell the other receptionist that she "wants to say something so bad" as they both stopped everything they were doing just to listen in. Extremely unprofessional and they do not follow up until your baby is gone!

Took my poor baby in yesterday morning to get euthanized.. doctor was very helpful he and I agreed she did not look like she was going to make it but regardless he still gave me options. Wait was so long but it is an emergency clinic. The nurses were very loving to her in her last moments were very empathetic, one of them offered me a clay paw in memory of her. They were very caring. Would come back again thank you for caring for her in my baby’s last moments ❤️

I drove my cat to the West Texas Emergency Veterinary Clinic a few weekends ago. He was very ill, and Dr. Perry and the veterinary staff took great care of him! He recovered, and I was able to drive him home the next day!

Unfortunately throughout the years I've had to take several pets to WTEV, and I can say without a doubt they're one of the best ER vet clinics I've been to. They've always been very upfront with prices, treatment plans, and my animal's prognosis. The techs are caring and efficient, and the doctors I've met have been awesome. I had to bring my sweet cat Dalilah in today, and while we were there for 2.5 hours for xrays and some pain meds, I still feel like the staff did a great job of taking care of my cat and still trying to get us out and on our way as soon as possible. 10/10!

The staff was very friendly and caring They saved my dogs life. I know for a fact if they wouldn't have treated her that night she would have not made it. I am thankful they are open 24 hours.

The waiting sucked, we were there for 5 hours. But they are great at what they do, very helpful. In my experience the time we were expected to wait was just ridiculous cause my fur baby was considered priority one on their list.

Almost 4 hr wait!!!!! All that was done was check our pups weight, if we took him in its because we see it as an urgent matter however they didn't, other emergency cases kept coming in over and over. At least stay in communication with waiting patients, would have appreciated a quick check in with our pup then determine if it was urgent or not.

I can't express the gratitude I have for Dr. Wills and her staff. She treated and boarded our dearly missed greyhound for a few years. Nearly two years ago, he spent a week under her care while being treated with necrotizing fasciitis. Dr. Wills was straightforward with the grim prognosis, but when we thought it was approaching time to let him go, she convinced us to wait just a bit, and sure enough, she got him through it. We made daily visits with him for a couple of months for bandage changes, so needles to say, we got to know the staff VERY well. Sadly, just as he was finally healed from that, she diagnosed him with bone cancer (very common in greyhounds). She kept him comfortable for a couple months, and was there for us when it was time to say goodbye. I have absolutely no doubt she loved him just was we did. Some reviewers complain of their prices, wait time, and demeanor. They're staffing an office with professionals 24/7, which is undoubtedly very costly. They operate the only consistent and full staffed around the clock emergency vet in the Permian Basin, so they do get very busy at times, and just like any ER, pressing emergencies take priority (meaning you may wait hours for service). I've first hand seen some of the rigors of their job; their constantly flooded with animals that are in the direst of situations, at the end of their life, and/or have suffered due to negligence and are being brought to them as an absolute last resort. I assure you that if you find anybody to come across as short or unfriendly, there's a reason. Depression and suicide rates are higher in this field, and I'm sure being an ER only magnifies that. Dr. Wills is providing this area's animals (and their humans) a hugely needed service, and I'll always be thankful for the love she (and her staff) showed our sweet pup.

Yes there is a really long waittime. Walked in at 5 and posting this at 8 (still waiting) They took my baby in because she was having seizures so they've been taking care of her this whole time and we've just been waiting. But let's face it if you won't go to the ends of the earth for your fur baby then maybe waiting isn't for you. They are always extremely booked because they are good at their job.

Took my dog in for a operation. Dog was released Wednesday when I went for her they asked me to go back Thursday. When I went Thursday I waited in the waiting room 2 hours for them to say they were busy to go back Friday. When I went Friday they told me to go back Saturday. She was discharged Saturday morning when I went to pick her up I waited 2 hours again. They told me to go back Sunday morning. Still haven’t got my dog back.

no mercy do it

My 2-year-old cat Raven was extremely sick the doctor got him back and into surgery within an hour of showing up. He was in the animal hospital for 2 days. I was allowed to go see him they took all of my calls even though they were super busy. Almost a week later and he is back at home back to being the biggest sweetest part of the family that we could never live without. thank you so much for everything you do: you guys love animals and it really shows, keep up the good work.. I will highly recommend this place to anyone who wants good care for their animals.

We had to put our dog of 14 years down. The clinic was packed and the staff was working hard but they still maintained a professional and compassionate attitude during a difficult time for us. I appreciate their support and can’t thank them enough.
