We have never had anything but excellent care for our pets. The entire team is very professional, and incredibly caring! I highly recommend them.

Dr. Farris and Elise are very thorough and professional. We were told by both of them that we were receiving a sample of Revolution for our cat since it was our first visit. When we were leaving Elise handed us a 3-pack of Revolution and told us that was our sample. Now the reason for the 2-star review—the “sample” was not discussed when checking out and being charged for it, perhaps because it was at closing time. The receipt was emailed to me so I checked it when we were headed home and saw that we were charged almost $85 for the “sample” of Revolution! I went to the clinic the next business day to discuss the invoice and ask for a refund for the “sample” and was first told that I would have to wait until Monday to have a manager address the issue. I told the representative politely that I either get my refund immediately or I would dispute the credit card charge. She went and got someone else to address the refund and take care of it immediately. I was only refunded for one vial and not the entire 3-pack. It was then explained that a sample is typically one vial. That was never communicated by Elise or Dr. Farris and if we were going to be charged $28 a vial for the other two vials in the 3-pack that should have been explained. Do not leave without a full explanation of charges so that you aren’t supposed like we were. Technically we should be getting a full refund since a 3-pack was handed to us as a “sample.” Not sure if I’ll return to this clinic if this is how they do business. Very disappointing.

I moved to this area 22 years ago and have used Canyon Vet for nearly all of that time. I have formed good relationships over the years with the office staff and all of the vets. These are very nice people who take care of the animals wonderfully and also their owners. I have appreciated their kindness many times when I had a difficult decision to make over one of my cats. Would recommend.

Took my 16 month old St Bernard healthy in to be spayed the next day she died. Autopsy showed they didnt take out her ovaries and cut her intestines. I called 5 times she wont eat, she is booping blood, she wont move and so on the fith time I said it's an emergency bringing her in. The cet on duty said she is critical 1 hour later she died. I have had many does spayed before never had experienced anything like this.

At best, they are incompetent. At worst, they are frauds and theives. Here's the backstory - I called on a Friday to request a refill of a prescription for my pet. I was informed that it would be ready that afternoon. I explained that I would be in on the following Monday to pick it up because I had other plans for the weekend. On Monday, I called to verify that everything was ready, received an affirmative response, and headed to the clinic. When I got to the clinic, I attempted to pickup and pay for the prescription. I was told the payment was declined. They attempted the payment multiple times with one Bluetooth reader and another time with a second. Needless to say, I was confused because I had more than sufficient funds to cover the transaction. While at the desk, I check my account, and sure enough, there's the debit transaction, already cleared from Canyon Vet in the amount of $35.35. I showed the receptionist, and she called over a co-worker from the back who also viewed the cleared transaction. Their response, it declined on our side. I asked to speak with the Vet because I wished to discuss the issue. They said he/she would call. I left the clinic, called my bank, and they verified that the transaction had cleared, but they only saw one attempt. I am thinking the clinic has an issue with their card processor, and I will discuss that with the Vet when he calls. Before I disconnect from my bank, I ask if there's any other way to demonstrate that a payment has cleared an account, and they indicated that they could prepare a letter indicating the details of the transaction and when it cleared. I confirmed that I would appreciate such a letter, and it was provided via email to me the next day. I returned to the clinic, armed with my letter and the bank transaction history showing the charge has cleared. (I still had not received a call from the Vet.) When I arrived, I was told that my card was declined, I would not get a call from the Vet, rather the office manager. I explained that it seemed there was an issue with their card processor, and I wanted to speak with the person that was in charge. I was told to expect a call. Well, it's now Friday. Two days of no response. I called the clinic again with no results. I asked who owned the clinic, since it's no longer owned by the local Vet (apparently, he's just an employee), and was told they are owned by Pathway Veterinary Alliance out of Austin TX. Calls to them have not been returned either. Draw your own conclusions, but I would expect that you could find a better run, more professional and responsive vet clinic.

This was our first visit to CanyonVet. We were very impressed with the cleanliness, the very thorough exam of our two dogs (one which has a permanent injury to deal with) and the level of care and detail taken by Dr. Farrell and the tech. We are very happy we made the switch!

We had a little chihuahua with a breathing issue that started the night before. The next morning he seemed fine, but in the afternoon the problem cropped up again. Since this place was less than 5 min from my house I decided to walk in with our dog without a appointment at 4pm (they close at 6). They had no customers in the waiting area when I walked in. Very nice lady initially saw me..blond lady..and the quickly transferred me to a dark hair lady. I can totally understand how a short notice app is not feasible ..but this persons bedside manner was beyond miserable . Lectured me that I should have called in the am. Didn’t show any inclination to find out what is troubling our dog...and all the while..a pasted cranky face. This woman was: 1) The owner 2) The owners wife 3) A actual vet there 4) or the worst “hire” imaginable for receptionist. I want to stress that the initial blond lady was super nice. But based on the second one..I will never go here again. In times of need when your pet is in distress..compassion and empathy should be requirements for employment..even if this woman was 1-3 on my list.

Loved this vet before covid they were always great and on top of things. Then covid hit and they don't do boarding anymore have lots of issues with just make an appointment to come and get my dog's nails clipped but I hope that'll eventually change because things are starting to get back to normal.

They handled my "child" with great care and responded with the information to put my mind last ease. I can count on the same professional assigned to be there the next time any situation arises.

I had to switch veterinarians since my local vet was overwhelmed during Covid, and we were not able to get in. It really turned out to be for the best. CanyonVet was a great experience, and I’m very pleased with the care for my German Shepherd. Even during Covid with curbside pet appointments, it ran efficiently. The staff is professional and kind from the receptionist, technicians, to the veterinarian Dr. Bullock. I felt all my questions were answered by Dr. Bullock and more. It was a very smooth and informative process. CanyonVet will be our new veterinarian.

Our 3 dogs love Dr. Lauren Casares of Canyon Vet New Braunfels. They are not afraid to go see her..amazing! The staff are all so kind to our dogs as well. They treat them like they would their own pets. Dr. Casares is gentle with the dogs, caring and very thorough with their care. We have learned to trust her completely with our beloved fur babies.

We have been very pleased with the care Bucky receives when we have to visit. He is a senior rescue dog and has a lot of aggression when anyone tries to do anything to him. We are so thankful for your staff that are willing to work with him! We love him dearly and appreciate everyone that cares for him so much!!

At this time the techs are coming to car to get fur babies. You give them your concerns then after doctor checks out your pet gives you a call. Let's you know problem and treatment. Will answer any of your concerns. Always leave with everything needed

We moved to NB during the quarantine period with a dog that had recently had surgery. I quickly needed her progress checked. I had no idea who to turn to for help. I did some online research and decided to give Canyon vet a call. Initially, I was told they were booked for two weeks. I explained my situation, and the receptionist spoke to Dr. Ferrell, who worked our dog into her busy schedule. I thought I was so lucky, and I was. Our dog checked at fine, at that point. A few days later she re-injured herself trying to hide during a storm. This time we weren't so lucky. Once again I turned to CanyonVet and they once again, worked us into their busy schedule. Initially, they thought she was just re-injured where she had surgery, but it turns out she had also probably injured her spine. Despite Dr. Lauren's tireless efforts, we decided we couldn't put our baby through more pain, and made the hard decision to let her go. A huge thank you to the entire staff, techs, receptionists, and vets, who helped us through this difficult time and provided our girl with loving care.

I am very thankful for Hunters Canyon Animal Hospital/CanyonVet New Braunfels. They have met every need my pet and I have had, whether in emergency treatment or general service and questions. I would not go to any other veterinarian. The staff is professional, kind, and helpful when we are in the office or on the phone. During this covid-19 crisis, they took every precaution to keep everyone safe, while still maintaining their high quality standards. I am very pleased with their service and proud to recommend them.
