Three before Christmas my daughter and grandson lost there sweet, kind Miniature schnauzer Charlie but felt like she belong to all of us . After bringing her home and her getting worse my Daughter end up at Allure after all other pet ER in San Antonio were very rude and didn’t help any. Unfortunately she had cancer (thanks to Allure all it took was blood wrk to find out)that we didn't know about and they tried everything to save her but couldn't be saved. We were treated with the utmost respect and the tech was nice ,compassionate made my daughter’s and my grandson feel comfortable the vet took the time to explain everything very thoroughly what was going on with Charlie. Thank god she end up there . We highly recommend it.

I found myself at Allure after all other pet ER in San Antonio failed to render aid . All had closed doors or no time to see us. I called Allure and from the beginning they showed outstanding compassion and a urge to help us. I made the drive to see them and it was the best thing I could of done for my dog. I had 250 in my pocket and they where able to work with me . They tailored a plan for my pets injuries and prescribed pain medicine and antibiotics. The staff was kind and understanding. They treated my dog so well and the doctor took time to explain the situation and answered ALL my questions. I thank God I ended up at there hospital . I highly recommend them.

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE . Before you sign consent papers for treatment they will administer an IV and Opiate to your pet. I noticed that the paper said must be paid in full time of service so I told them no and we will go somewhere else . The lady said that they already gave our dog an IV and pain medicine and I Quote “ Yeah, we are going to need that $200 before you leave.” First of all….. We did not sign any paperwork nor gave your facility permission for treatment .!!! Illegal. Second of all, who talks like that ???? This isn’t the streets little girl but we can make arrangements since you want to have a slick mouth . THEN this bs vet came out talking about how our dog has all these complications and how it’s going to run us 6,000 . Pshhhhh went to VCA Becker and paid 2,200. A quarter of that amount and they had exceptional service . But anyways people who run business like that won’t stay in business for long .

Don't let the bad reviews scare you off! Allure is full of great, caring techs and vets. Emergency medicine doesn't always have a good outcome, but that doesn't mean it's the vet's fault. People complain about wait times, but you NEVER want your pet to be the first priority at an emergency clinic. My kitty ate a lily after normal vet hours and poison control said he needed to be seen immediately to prevent kidney damage or worse. I called Allure so they were expecting him and were able to take him back very quickly. I had a long wait between updates but that's to be expected. My kitty was there for two nights before transferring to his primary vet and I received calls every morning and night with updates from the doctors themselves. The only complaint I have about the care is that my primary vet did mention that Allure sedated him for his bath, which I guess was in the notes they received when he was transferred. I understand why, but I would have liked to have known in case he needs baths in the future, whether at home or at a vet/groomer. The biggest downside is that it is expensive and you do have to pay up front. I expected it given the nature of a 24/7 emergency clinic, but I wish there were a way for them to accept payment plans since most people are not fortunate enough to be able to put down hundreds if not thousands of dollars on the spot. However, they are extremely transparent and up front about the cost. Everything is itemized and nothing is done without approval of the cost first. I actually received a refund because the estimate they gave me was higher than the actual cost at discharge. I'd never know whether they used all the treatments I approved and paid for, so I appreciate that honesty. I hope I never need to make another emergency visit, but I'm glad to know that Allure is nearby and will take great care of my pets.

On the day after Christmas we lost our beloved Boxer Saint. We rushed him to your clinic and he was taken right in. We waited maybe 15 minutes for the vet to come and talk to us. Unfortunately he had a tumor that we didn't know about and he couldn't be saved. We were treated with the utmost respect and the vet was great! Thank you so much for trying to save our Saint.

Great service and care. Even though they were at 50% capacity, they attended us right away and they were very prompt with the diagnostic. My senior dog comes here every week for his rehab sessions and we have always been treated well.

They act as though they have all this knowledge when in fact they don’t. The owner walks around with her nose in the air, the arrogance of that woman was maddening. Acting like she knew all the answers….my dog DIED IN THEIR CARE. A conversation with the manager went nowhere, a lot of made up answers that you could tell were lies. The staff look p*ssed off and tired. Obviously their treatment affects the care your pet will receive. STAY AWAY

This place is so disorganized! Waited over 2 hours and finally just walked out after a couple told me about their horrible experience whilst I was waiting. They don't allow drop-offs, so you'll have to just wait and wait and wait! Funny, there's no time to care for animals but they have time to STAND AROUND AND JOKE AROUND ,WHILST YOUR PET IS DYING!!You can't enter OR LEAVE without asking for a staff member to let you out; how unsafe is that!!? I understand them not letting just anyone inside but everyone needs to be able to LEAVE whenever they want to! Can you say, "FIRE HAZARD!?" EVERYONE working there seemed barely and I do mean barely, a step above retarded!!! GO TO BLUE PEARL INSTEAD!!!! Thank God we left because I just looked at these other reviews!! WARNING ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ THE OWNER, VETERINARIAN AND STAFF ARE SO VINDICTIVE THAT THEY'D LET YOUR DOG DIE BECAUSE OF A POOR REVIEW THAT YOU'VE LEFT!!! THAT IS MORALLY DISGUSTING!!! IT'S TIME TO CONTACT THE LOCAL NEWS STATIONS AND BRING ATTENTION TO THIS DEBAUCHERY!!!

A couple of weeks ago, my dog developed a rather sudden ulcer on his eye. It continued to get worse and he saw an ophthalmologist who attempted to treat it with medications. The medications unfortunately didn’t help and it ruptured before his scheduled enucleation. He was in extreme pain and we decided to take him over to Allure. Jason, the technician, met me outside immediately and took my dog back to start on vitals. I was taken into an exam room and although it was a bit of a wait (expected at an emergency clinic) the experience was great. Jason was extremely nice and reassuring through the process and as soon as they were ready they went straight into surgery. Unfortunately, the eye is not able to be saved. But, I am 100% confident that he is in the best hands. I work in a general practice vet clinic and being the client in the situation can be extra difficult since that is not the role I usually have. The staff was nothing but kind and reassuring, which really helped calm my nerves. I know Shorty has his family cheering for him as well as the entire vet staff. I can’t thank you guys enough!

$4000 into treatment of a cat that came in over the weekend, whom you refused to release to the owner's yesterday, and today you demand another $1500 or you will remove him from oxygen and all treatment = ANIMAL ABUSE. You will let him suffer a slow, painful death because for the 4th major time you are demanding over $1000 of the owner to raise immediately? You're not pet specialists, you're home wreckers and heart breakers.

I took my puppy Tucker late on a Tuesday night because he was acting lethargic. They thought for sure he had gotten into something and immediately suggested x rays. I agreed along w blood work. They told me he had a “foreign substance” that was passing slowly. They never once mentioned any elevated labs to me. They just kept telling me he “wasn’t acting right for a puppy” and they needed to keep him. I agreed because I had no clue what was wrong with my dog and neither did they. I’m not sure how they could have possibly missed he was anemic and his liver labs were elevated. Almost $3,000 later and zero answers I took my dog home. After taking him to another vet they noticed how off his blood work was and immediately started running more tests. My dog is extremely lethargic. How could allure not even mention his labs to me?? They should’ve helped me! And now when we call to discuss this we are told “to fill out a paper and someone will get back to you”. Absolutely no compassion at all!!! Never “I’m so sorry” or “we totally missed that”. Just fill out this paper and be another number for our clinic. Allure is money hungry and had no issues taking as much money as possible for a hospital stay and guilting me into feeling like a bad dog owner if I didn’t do exactly what they said but now have nothing to say about their lack of care for my puppy.

We were traveling through the area from out of town. We needed an emergency vet to check a wound on our dog that had opened up from an pretty bad injury two days before. Another vet we called advised us to take him to Allure. We did and wow, what an incredible experience… every single person we spoke to went out of their way for us and our dog. The doctor was completely honest and advised us not to re-stitch the wound and told us exactly how to care for it. So glad she didn’t take advantage of us at such a vulnerable time. I was really surprised at our bill as well… I thought for sure it would be a few hundred dollars and it was no where near that. We were given what we needed to care for the wound and on our way. I highly recommend Allure if your pet has an emergency.

Horrifying experience. I took my dog in on Saturday with a laceration. I was charged $1,200 before they would agree to look at her. They had me wait in an exam room for 2 hours and 45 minutes before I walked to the back and grabbed a nurse's attention to look at my girl. By this point, there was blood on me, the room, the table and she finally retrieved someone to look at the wound. They took X-Rays, but refused to inspect them, instead sending them out for a 3rd party inspection. That eventually came back with a notice that nothing was found. They sedated her and kept her overnight for observation after charging me another $400 "just in case she needs medicine". Then, at 9:00 am Sunday morning, they called me and told me she was dead and they didn't know why she was dead. They gave her some medication that night and her heart stopped beating.

Horrible. Calling an hour before departure, and an hour drive to the facility we were given a 1 to 2 hour wait time - due to an emergency, which is understandable. Came back 1 hour later to a 4-5 hour wait time. HIGHLY OVER-PRICED (PER PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE NOT RELATED TO THIS ONE). NO WAIT LIST, OR COURTESY. DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES.

My daughter (college student) brought her cat in and the cat was diagnosed with kidney stones. Three days and $3,300.00 later she still doesn't know if the stones are gone. She told them last night she didn't have any more money and she needed to pick up the cat. They didn't do surgery so I'm wondering why so much. That sure sounds like overcharging to me. I wonder what the Veterinary board would say about this?

We had a really awful experience at Allure. Our dog had emergency surgery a few days prior and was recovering. She went to our vet on Friday and he was concerned about her heart and a few other symptoms she was having post operation. On Saturday she took a turn for the worse and since our vet is closed, we took her to Allure. The minute I signed the paperwork I got a bad feeling. They tell you up front in the paperwork you sign to expect a $1000 bill before they even see your pet. Money was no object in saving my girl, but it was very off putting. After an hour they called us in to say she was critical and gave us an estimate of $5600 daily and citing some disease that required plasma transfusions. I explained that she just had emergency surgery on Tues. to remove a tumor on her spleen and I asked the vet if he had reviewed the blood work results we brought with us. It was just done the evening before at our vet. He was very rude and dismissive but said yes he looked at it. I started to ask questions about some of the things we had learned at our vet the day before and again, he didn’t want to answer me. He had his mind set that she had something else and simply wasn’t interested in hearing the history or what tests were done just 14 hours prior at our vet. Our sweet girl was going downhill fast and truly suffering so we made the awful decision to euthanize her. I wasn’t going to let this vet with zero compassion be the one to do it. When the vet tech came back in I asked to pay our bill so we could take her elsewhere to be euthanized. At that point she offered to get someone else to come in and do it so we agreed and said our goodbyes to our sweet Abby that day. Besides having 4 other dogs of our own, we are very active in dog rescue and have fostered 100+ dogs over the last 10 years. We are accustomed to dealing with sick and injured dogs, and local veterinarians. Never in my life have I encountered a vet with zero compassion, empathy or understanding until our visit to Allure recently. If you love your pets, do not trust this place with their care. Your pets deserve better! I will never ever go back and will continue to tell everyone what an awful experience we had there.

We arrived around 5am this morning my sweet Molly girl was 16 and passing away on are way to the place. Soon as we got there a kind lady picked molly up and brought her back with us in the very back. They had to put her to sleep sadly, but she wasn't going to make it. They apologized they had to do it also they were not all about money. Which we are thankful for. They put us at a room at the end with her so I could still love on her and say my goodbyes. Thank yall very much for helping her be at peace and thank you for your kindness and caring.

They saw my cat Albus and took care of him. He was fighting an infection and had a very high fever. By the time we left, Albus was feeling better and was more active on his way to his old swlf again. I’m so grateful to the staff and Doc for thwir attention to my fur baby.

I had to bring my large (100 pounds) dog in after getting injured during a dog fight. Needless to say, I was distraught and panicked. Every tech, front desk attendee, and the vet were amazing! Kind, patient, and practical. I will absolutely trust them for emergency care in the future but hopefully won’t have to. Also, the clinic itself is very nice! I felt the pricing was reasonable for an emergency care clinic that offers 24 hour service.

If you enjoy wasting an afternoon waiting to be seen, this is the place to go. Arrived at 1pm with my dog that had a severe self-inflicted cut on his shoulder from a fence. Finally took my dog and left at 4pm, disgusted with the service, without having ever being seen.

Update: I forgot to update this review after our experience with Allure. The owner of the clinic did not like my initial review, so she instructed her medical staff to return our sick dog to us with no additional treatment. They walked him out to us, we pleaded with them to continue treatment as he was incredibly sick, and they refused on behalf of their owner. We have reported them to the veterinary board for this conduct. Whether anything comes of this report, I’m ambivalent. However, I hope this review helps other pet owners make choices when it comes to the care of their animals. After our experience, we will be driving into San Antonio for emergency treatment, even though Allure is closest to us. The owner and her staff clearly have no regard for the actual wellbeing of their patients and are more considered with good publicity. ———————- I’m writing this as I wait in the parking lot of Allure for my dog. This is our second visit to Allure. As I type, we’re going on our third hour waiting to be seen by a doctor. The first hour and a half, they didn’t even take my dog back — in spite of severe digestive distress. The second hour and a half, my scared, sick dog has been in one of their kennels, alone, while waiting to be seen by a vet. We are not allowed inside, and we are also not allowed to leave for any reason until the doctor sees my dog. I am beyond frustrated with the way this facility operates. If you are this busy at night, staff more than one doctor. If this was not the closest emergency vet, we would never come back.

The receptionist needs to learn some soft skills and empathy when taking calls. Her tone and lack of empathy are brutal, maybe she's overworked, or over stressed by the job, I don't know. I cancelled my appointment based on speaking with her alone. If you call here just know if the same receptionist answers your call don't expect empathy, it's not there.

On Oct. 7th, 2021, we had to rush our dog to the er in the middle of the night. We called ahead & from the moment we arrived, the staff & Dr greeted us & swiftly took action. They would come & update us on the procedures being done. They were professional & caring to us but most of all our precious "baby dog". Sadly, his poor body couldn't handle it anymore & we made the hardest choice ever & said "goodbye" to him that night. A few days later, we received a loving card in the mail from the staff. We chose to have our baby cremated through the services provided. Upon completion, we were called & picked up his ashes. The cremation service did a beautiful job. We are soo thankful Allure was open & ready. Thank you⚘

Everyone working tonight was kind, patient and communicative. Jason took time to talk me through my dog’s condition and my dog and I both left feeling much better. I feel like they sincerely care about my dogs wellbeing and that means everything.

Oreo, our beloved dog jumped out of our pickup and dislocated her hip at 8 pm Saturday night. Allure was very good about diagnosing what was wrong. Unfortunately they offered services they did not have the skill level to do. The vet tried to put Oreo’s hip back in and failed. They led us to believe the only option was major surgery or euthanasia. We called our neighbor who is a orthopedic vet who told us go get her immediately and she will be okay at home. Then he repaired her leg the next morning in an hour. Allure was respectful and able to diagnose. They were not able to treat and VERY expensive. Don’t let your emotions lead you down a wrong path - poor pet care and financial ruin. If your pet is not in eminent danger wait for your vet to care for them.
