We left our Labradoodle over a 3 day weekend. When we picked her up she was still wet from recent bath NO combing or drying (40 bucks) She looks much better when we dropped her off. The Bully Sticks we left for her never were given to her? We paid extra for play time. I’m very skeptical this even happened? No report card was given as well? I left my email and all my contact info through their website contact and never heard a single call / email or reply. They seem very busy, so I’m sure they don’t care about poor service and personal details right now! Time we tell….I left two stars because Maggie was still alive and seemed happy enough. However, we do think she got Kennel Cough during her stay.

Horrible place to leave your pets, we were also vet patients not anymore, when I picked up my puppies my baby girl smelled like urine and 2 days later she now has kennel cough. My big boy needs medication and vegetarian food for allergies, they missed 2 days of medication and he had 6 extra cups of food that he was not fed. I feel bad for leaving my babies in such a horrific place. NEVER take your dogs there.

My dog contracted the kennel cough here, even with his vaccinations, staff negelected pets, not a cleansed place. Ive dropped of my dog here numerous times and never had a problem up until recently. He came back sick, dry coughing, gaging I believe he caught something while he was there 4 days, which wouldn’t make sense since every dog has to have those shots to be boarded so something happened while he was there because he was perfectly normal and healthy before we had dropped off. I give them this rating because they were not attentive to advise or give me info as to what had happened or what technician handled him while he was there, the report card looked like it was a copy of another dog with my dogs name added to it, really weird. To begin with When I picked up my dog his toys and bag we’re Soaked in Urine! Why so much urine? I asked for play time and she said oh the tech didn’t sign off so I don’t know if he got them?! Sooo he didn’t get play time? He did not get walked? What happened there? He did not smell like he had been showered he smelled like wet rags and sweat, his bark was not the same it had changed almost as if he was barking the whole time and wore himself out, when we asked if they noticed that he was barking differently the responded oh we didn’t know that was odd?!! Are you kidding me?They didn’t care to look into it. I don’t know what kind of caring they do for dogs given all this info, made us feel like my dog was left unattended, uncared for, unreliable, that’s incredibly dishonest of them.

Ex Employee review - I do not recommend anyone bring their dog here. There are countless issues that go on and never get taken care of or just brushed off it’s sad. Dogs constantly have kennel cough and the management never speak on it to clients. They act dumbfounded when clients call saying their dogs came home with it knowing good and well it came from this filthy facility. Kennel techs in the back are never properly trained. Dogs sit in their own urine and feces for hours at a time without anyone cleaning it. Daily walks, which are meant to be 4 times a day, gets missed daily. The dogs are lucky if they get walked twice a day. I recently found out I’m pregnant so per doctor orders I wasn’t allowed to walk dogs, but I would remind the kennel techs daily of the walking times and they wouldn’t do it. Management was made aware numerous times but never did anything about it. It’s a mother daughter duo running the two facilities so you could imagine the things they do and say to save their selves from the owner, Dr Romero So he doesn’t find out how terribly ran The Lodge is. Dogs medications gets skipped all of the time unless an experienced worker (myself and like two others) are there. Feeding is done so improperly because kennel techs are not reading the cards or paying attention, so some dogs get over fed, under fed, or not fed at all. Runs that the dogs stay in don’t get cleaned, dried up urine and feces always on the walls and floors. If you are one of the “good ones” that work there, you are expected to tell all of the kennel techs what to do, but don’t you EVER think that you have any type of authority. You have to do all of the bossy things without the pay or the title just so the actual manager doesn’t have to deal with it and she can sit outside chain smoking cigarettes or over next door sitting in her daughters office for hours talking. So if you’re a good one you’re basically over worked because you’re doing every single thing because the other lazy employees aren’t told they have to change their ways. I NEVER write bad reviews on any job I’ve ever had before this one. I believe it’s well deserved that they get bashed. I would absolutely never leave my dogs here, and if you do guarantee that they’ll come home with kennel cough.

I was an employee at The Lodge for over 3 years, left in Jan. I am leaving an honest review of my time there. The facility went through 5 managers. Due to the incredibly low pay, EXTREME favoritism, un-held promises and DISRESPECT by management, the turn over rate is absolutely outrageous! They have went through so many employees while I was there, I cannot even give an estimate on the number. The current “manager” at The Lodge is Sandra. She is the mother of the “practice manager” of both facilities, Kandi. Above them is the owner, Doctor Romero. Due to the conflict of interest having a mother and daughter managing the facilities, none of the employees feel that they can go to the practice manager with issues with management at The Lodge. In the employee handbook, it states that if you are not comfortable going to either managers for any reason, then to contact the owner, Doctor Romero. When Doctor Romero was confronted about issues with Sandra, he completely blew off everything said to him, and said we have to go speak to the managers daughter, Kandi, even though he was informed the reason why we do not feel comfortable going to her, is because they are mother and daughter. Kandi, the practice manager, has personally spoken bad about MANY clients to me, and told me if I tell anyone, she will say that I was lying and they’ll believe her over me. Kandi promises in interviews the opportunity to move up in the company, and a pay raise after 90 days. Neither of those promises get up-held, and many employees/past employees will testify to that. I very FORTUNATELY did receive pay raises that I was extremely grateful for, but with that came having to deal with A LOT of disrespect, demands, and job-threatening from the manager Sandra. That too other employee’s will testify. The Lodge is very short staffed, leaving only me and 1 other receptionist at the time. Many days we worked 7:15-6 sometimes with no lunch break. I have personally witnessed there only being 1 kennel technician in the back taking care of all the dogs. They are left to sit in their urine and feces and do not clean kennels. Many times when I worked alone, I’d have a line of customers all the way to the front door. Sandra would see that, and book it to her office, or over to the animal hospital until they were all gone instead of jumping in to help and have good customer service. Not ONCE in her entire time there, has she checked a customer in, or checked a customer out due to not knowing how to use the cornerstone software, which I would assume the manger of the facility should know. Instead of pulling an employee in her office to address issues they are doing wrong, she goes around and talks to every other employee about the other employee’s issues. Every employee knows when someone is getting written up or fired. I have personally witnessed Sandra having other employees do inventory for her as well, another part of her job. To top it all off, aside from standing around all day talking to other employees, she is out smoking cigarettes on the property nearly every 20 minutes. My fiancé’s mother brought her dogs to be boarded, and no one informed her that the bill on her account had to be paid off in full prior to her bringing the dogs in to be boarded, since the agreement we had clearly had changed. They waited until she was dropping them off in hopes she would have to leave and cancel her plans. The manager Sandra was extremely rude to her, giving her nasty looks and staring her down. Afterwards, Sandra proceeded to spread personal financial information about her account. The receptionist Katherine at Animal Hospital of Montgomery threatened to send a package of feces to my house, and DID send a package of feces to the other receptionist that worked there so she quit. This place is completely full of nepotism. If you like to be recognized for hard work, appreciated, have opportunity for advancement, and motivation, DO NOT WORK HERE. I sincerely hope the owner addresses the issues there, and the facility can be successfully ran again. Posted on FB as well.

Dog could have flown round trip with us for less money. ..... Unfortunitely we need the service. Check your stuff before you leave - dog lost 10% body weight ( food we left was not returned) and we received some other dog's toys in our returned bag .... are they sharing/ mixing?

I booked a cabin with a porch and that did not happen.. Therefore my dogs soiled the blanket because they could not go out on porch and do their business outside. Not a happy customer. :(

We recently moved here and they had an opening so we booked it due to a last minute schedule change. We were very happy with the accommodations, the dogs were not stressed when we got them back. We have used them a second time & will be our go to place moving forward. The only thing I would suggest is when you walk in to check your animals in there needs to be a better way of handling the paperwork & your dogs at the same time. I have my hands full with 2 dogs pulling every way possible & the staff hands you forms to initial or sign. It really makes it difficult. The places in the past that I have used, take control of the dogs for you and then let you fill out paperwork. So the 2 times I have dropped them off, there were plenty of employees at the front desk that could have lent a hand to make it easier, to give your attention to the forms that needed filled out. Also why do they take the dogs collars & leashes off & hand them to you, yet another thing happening during a very chaotic time.
