Legacy Animal Emergency Hospital Midland, Texas

Christmas Day we unfortunately found ourselves in need of an emergency vet. The closest one to us was Legacy and thank goodness for that! From arrival, to the surgery to post op help, Legacy was there whenever we needed them. Their staff was understanding, had clear communication and all around great company. Our dog was not a fan of having any type of cone, bandage, or stitches on his body and he did EVERYTHING to try and fight it. I called Legacy, and they quickly helped me find a solution. They were attentive, respectful and professional. My one suggestion would be to adjust pricing in some areas. When your fur babies are hurt you’ll pay just about anything (within reason). I have no issue paying for the care my dog needs, especially during an emergency. However, charging $40 for a tiny leash that was probably purchased for a quarter of that price is unnecessary. Overall, I’m extremely happy with the service we got here. I came into Legacy extremely worried/anxious about my fur baby, and left feeling a sense of relief because I knew he was in great hands.

I am so thankful to be near an emergency vet that is open 24/7! We had to bring our dog in last week super late at night and were seen very quickly! He sadly tested positive for parvo but the staff were all very nice and answered every question I had to get him back to normal. My dog gets very anxious at the vet and has to be muzzled to be treated but everyone was very patient and understanding with him and tried there best to make him comfortable despite him growling at them. Would definitely recommend! They explain the costs of everything before treating which I appreciated!

The staff (specifically Jessica) are so friendly and go above and beyond! The facilities are extremely clean and nice. While the wait times can be long like an emergency room, the staff do their absolute best to get you in and out while being thorough. They take the time to explain what is going on and are upfront about the associated costs.

Got us in the Monday after Christmas! Walked right in and was seen.

I took my cat there last night. I was there for 3 hours. I was told they were in contact with a veterinary surgeon. They told me this vet gave a quote for surgery for my cat. I was told to be at the other veterinary off at 7:30 this morning. I picked up my cat and went to the veterinary office. They don't open till 8:30. They had no information about my cat. Legacy called him one time he asked for the x-ray of my cat to be emailed to him. which they did not do. The vet said he did not nor would he ever give a quote without seeing a animal. I had to have my cat put down. I do not appreciate being lied to. I will never go back there.

They were very kind to us and to our dog, they took care of her problem very carefully, and my dog ​​did not feel scared or anything like that, thank you very much for your help!

Took my poor 3 month old cat here cause he had an upset stomach and diarrhea and feared we could lose him. The reasoning behind this review is because they told us they would test him for everything including parasites. After waiting they said all test were negative and to give him what they prescribed. Fast forward we took him to another pet hospital out of this city because his diarrhea continued to get worse. They ran the exact same test and found it was parasites after all. I feel like if we wouldn’t had made the decision and going out of this town we could have lost our poor baby. I feel scammed $200+ for this service, not to mention they had turned out the lights on us when we were waiting to get instructed on the medications. The staff was friendly but this situation is just disappointing.

Took my dog to this place and the staff there were so rude and they took so long, to come back to let us know nothing. They quoted us $1,000 for all this stuff that our dog apparently didn’t need (we know this because we ended up taking her to West Texas Emergency Vet in Odessa, we only paid $290 for her exam and for her to stay over night) we then paid $130 for her exam which was pointless. Definitely wouldn’t recommend them to no one. We should of went to the one in Odessa first. Very unreliable staff.

Car side service was a little frustrating but the Vet Tech was friendly and answered my questions.

Took my French Bulldog in for back /leg pain and they were so caring, quick and informative. My boy was in pain, nervous and growled at the vets and technicians and they didn’t mind, they were so patient and took the time to answer all my questions and concerns. Though I hope to never have to go back to the ER with my boy, if I do ever need to I will be coming here and know my pets will be taken care of. To everyone who helped out today, thank you so so much I appreciate everything you do.

ABSOLUTELY THE BESTTTT VET IVE EVER BEEN TO! Sierra and the rest of the crew are lifesavers and helps with EVERYTHING! They take care of my animals like it’s there own. Best place to take ur babies if you truly want someone who cares! Took my baby in and found out he has parvo and they did everything they could possibly do to make my baby feel better! I will forever be taking my babies here!

The staff and vet were very nice and professional.

Amazing staff and Dr Hancock is a great surgeon. My dog Penny was a day or two away from dying from pyrometra. She was up and walking the next day. She is on her way to making a full recovery. Sure its a little pricey, but if its an emergency, theirs no long waiting and you get to visit your pet later after surgery without any intrusion.

I will be forever grateful to the whole staff at Legacy. Our Yorkiepoo has had diabetes for over a year and has been stable until one night she wasn't. We took her to Legacy and the staff there cared for her like our dog was their own. All of the vets, techs, and staff are angels for what they do and the time they spend to try to get your pet healthy and back home with you. They saved our dog and we can't thank them enough for the care and support they gave us. They kept us up to date on her status and tried every treatment they could think of until something finally worked. Midland is blessed to have such a great 24/7 animal hospital for our furry family members when they need emergency care. To Dr. Paine, Dr. Blessington, Sierra, and all the techs and staff, We can't thank y'all enough for the care and kindness shown to us.

Legacy was awesome. My brothers cat was very ill and we had to say goodbye to him. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness, professionalism and their understanding of our situation.

My dog Samson wasn't feeling well and I rushed him to the vet. The staff & tech was friendly, courteous and expedient. I highly recommend them!

Had a scary situation a couple months back. My dog had gotten bit in his cheek. There was a hole all the way through and so much blood! They took immediate care of him! He had to have many stitches. Now there is only a small dot where the big hole used to be. They were amazing!

I brought my 11-year-old Shih Tzu mix and she was not doing well my sweet girl fought like hell and so did the staff for her. they did an amazing job highly recommend!

Took my dog Bailey in this morning. She seemed to have some breathing problems and what seemed like sneezing or coughing. All the lady’s working there are absolutely WONDERFUL. They truly love animals and just want them to be healthy. They treated my dog like their own fur baby. Did some quick chest X-rays and her lungs looked healthy thank god. Vet says an upper respiratory infection. A little pricey but I don’t care. My dog is worth it. It’s an emergency vet so expect to wait if there are animals in a more worse condition than your baby. They get you in as soon as possible! Absolutely love this place.

Great. Went in with doggo not eating. They listened stalked about the signs etc. And understood that I was stuck financially. They helped fit a treatment into the budget I could manage and he ate like...well he hadn't ate in 2 days.

Amazing staff, amazing vet, my daughter and I could not feel more welcomed. Kept us up to date with our pups condition.

Before you go!! Read this !! Long wait, lack of communication, They weren't confident in what they were doing. I was told pup was fine to go home.. woke up the next morning to pup whimpering and weak. Rushed him back. I told the receptionist why did you tell me he was going to be okay to go home last night... I Sat down and a few sec later Vet came out door screaming me "We never said that!! No one said he was going to be okay !!" I stepped outside to avoid situation and was in shock about unprofessionalism. they charged me 600 initially. sec time was 212 . They wanted to charge me an additional 1,000 dollars to just watch pup for 24 hrs doing same treatment. Never got to root of the problem. So I can see how the vet was frustrated. Basically were just trying to patch up puppy and not try and fix the issue.. Pup ended up passing away.Very rude environment. I don't not recommend going there unless you absolutely have no choice.

UPDATE: I just wanted to add onto my review that the owner called my mom & deeply apologized how her girls did things when she was not there. That she opened her business to change things & would never want anyone to feel the way my mom feels. They have put a hold on my mom’s friend’s body to send over the Loving Pets for cremation & footprints for mom to know where her sweet friend is cause he can go back home now. Thank you for reaching out & trying to make this right. It will make a big difference within my mom’s heart. What kind of heartless people charge you $160 to put down a sweet pup of yours & then you cant stay while he goes to sleep?!?!…. Oh wait unless you pay an extra $50???!! My mom feels like she just threw her sweet boy in the trash because they couldn’t pay that extra $50 to have peace. Im heart broken for her, shame on yall for taking advantage of peoples love for their animals

The staff is amazing and I am so glad I have found a vet closer to home that I trust with my big dogs.
