We love this place for our girl Putty. We rescued her and she doesn’t do well with new people or other dogs. Homer took great care of her, and kept us posted on how she was doing, which eased our anxiety about leaving her for the first time. Definitely recommend.

Love this place! I was so happy to know Homer had opened back up. Used him in the past several times and back then our two dogs loved staying there. Now my only dog is so spoiled that Homer takes extra care of her. I will always use this place as long as it is open. The rooms are clean and each room has its own bed and television. The larger rooms even have their own yard for the dogs to go out when needed through the doggy door. I highly recommend this place!

I may not be a customer, but I know what an abuser the owner is.

Homer took exceptional care of our pups. I recommend Happy Paws anytime you can’t take your friends with you.

I left my dog here over spring break and had a great experience. Upon entering it smelled nice and the lady working was very pleasant and welcoming. The room was clean and had a nice bed ready for my dog. When I returned my dog was happy and usually when I board him at other places he is stressed out. I am extremely pleased with our experience with Happy Paws and we will be returning. Thank you!

If you need someone fantastic to watch your dogs while out of town, and you live in Midland, this is the place! The staff is VERY attentive and they ALWAYS do what they said they would. The place is nice and clean. Any medications needed are given as instructed. You cannot go wrong with Happy Paws.

Happy Paws is newly renovated, clean, and back to being the best place in town to care for your dogs while you're away. My dogs have always had good care there and I'm satisfied that good care will continue. I highly recommend them!

My boyfriend dropped off his dog for the weekend. When he got him back, he found over a dozen ticks on him, he was throwing up, and possibly contracted kennel cough. We will be taking him to the vet if his cough doesn't go away and will be taking further action if we can prove this place caused any ailments. This is NOT the place to take your dog even in the most desperate situation, something needs to be done immediately about this place

We had never used this place and when we arrived the place looked and smelled filthy as well as the owners. Then CBS 7 News shows up and starts doing a story of how dogs were taken there to be taken care of for a couple days and dogs ended …

This place is filthy - you walk in and are overwhelmed by the smell of ammonia and animal feces. The rooms have flooring peeling up from dogs scratching and chewing the rooms - we ended up driving our dogs with us to Galveston, TX and boarding them at a facility there because we refused to leave our dogs in those conditions.

I left my dog here and she loved it. The owner took very good care of her. I will definitely recommend taking your pets here.

I have a fur baby with horrible anxiety, he will go crazy and shred everything in our house or back yard if left alone for more than a day. I borded him and his brother over Thanksgiving, and came back to a happy couple of boys. They were well taken care of, happy and had no anxiety. I will use them every time we have to go away for a weekend or more!

My now ex wife has a big heart and rescued many pets. The pet motel suffered as a result. I have now taken over and cleaned the place up. The rescues are in a totally separate kennel of their own. The ticks are gone, the odor is gone. Happy Paws Pet Motel is now strictly a beautiful boarding facility once again. You will not find a better place to board your pet. Please come by and have a look. Book a reservation and you will be glad you did.

This place looks ok from the website pictures they have posted on-line. After I read some of the good reviews, I thought this would be a good place to keep my dogs for the weekend. I WAS SOOO WRONG! When I went to drop my dogs off there was feces, fresh and old, in the front room, down the hallways, and even in the area outside their kennels. It looked like the place had never been cleaned. Upon entering the front door I was overwhelmed by the smell of bleach and animal urine/poop. I could barely breathe. As I walked down the hallway to the kennel, there were old feces lining the carpet area, as if they had just been scooted over to make a path to the kennel areas. Upon entering my dogs kennel the room was nice, but there wasn’t a bed or water bowl and then I glanced into the area where my dogs were supposed to get time outside if they wanted it and there were still feces from the previous occupant and possibly the one occupant before that in the yard. I sadly left my dogs there then realized halfway down the road that I could not leave them there and needed to find better place to keep them or cancel my trip. I picked them up a few hours later and could hear them barking from the road and then when I went into their room there were still the feces from the previous occupant and the dogs room still had no water or bed. I was told that this place had been in business for over 16 years! I was outraged. Upon contacting the City of Midland Animal services I was told that the reason they cannot take action on this establishment is that they are outside the city limits and that the Midland County Sheriff’s department would need to be called. My dogs are my kids and if this were a daycare for humans this place would have been closed down a long time ago. Do not leave your animals here.

I am absolutely in shock that this place hasn’t been shut down. I had a bad feeling about this place just by the type of neighborhood it is in. Talk about white trash. I was boarding two of my dogs that day and didn’t want to judge this place solely on their outward appearance, so I decided to check the inside out. As soon as the lady opened the door I was overwhelmed by the horrible smell of pee and feces. It literally took my breath away. That did it for me! Not only did it smell horrendous, the inside was trashed. Im not sure if they know how to clean or know what cleaning is. I don’t care how "good" or "wonderful" or "nice" they are to animals, if they run their business like this they have a serious issue. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PETS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Horrible place to leave your pet. We left my father in laws dog at this place. He came back with weight loss, heat exhaustion, and lacerations under his eyes. He was a happy and playful dog, and now is he cowering like he has been abused. We left plenty of food and there was a lot of food left over, which means he has not been fed and when we got him home, he just practically dunked his face in the bowl and drank for 10-15 minutes as if he had not had water.

what an amazing option to have a place where a pet gets treated as a hotel guest, and has the comforts of a home away from home, with Debbie and Homer being the animal lovers they are. I wouldn't trust mine with anyone else.

Turned out to be a great experience for my dog! I was hesitant because he gets separation anxiety pretty bad, but he did very well. You can tell when your pet is not happy or treated right, and when I returned to pick him up, he was very happy and playful. The owners were straight and up front the whole time, and you could tell they really care. Made my buddy feel comfortable and right at home. Nice bed to sleep on for him, and his own yard. They gained a repeat customer here. I will definitely be going back. Do keep in mind - the place is a pet motel and some animals can't control their bladder. A little smell is normal and to be expected. BOTTOM LINE: IF YOU WANT PEACE OF MIND FOR YOUR PET TO BE TREATED KINDLY AND COMFORTABLY, THIS IS THE CHOICE FOR THE MIDLAND/ODESSA AREA.

The place is filthy and our dogs always require a bath as soon as we get home. I've found ticks on both of my dogs from having them at this kennel. …

Happy Paws is the only place in Midland I will take my grand puppies, Eppie and Rev. Both are rescues and it took us a while to learn all that made Rev nervous. Both Homer and Debbie were very patient with our big guy and worked with him gently and lovingly. It helped the visits become easier and easier. I recommend this place to board your pups!

Very caring and loving people, just the kind of person to trust with your companion.

I don't particularly care for this type of boarding...room with doggie door to a small outside area...because I believe it means less human interaction so as usual my australian shepherd was an anxious mess upon pickup. They were very nice but in the future I prefer more of a "doggy daycare" type of atmosphere.
