Castle Creek Pet Resort & Spa McKinney, Texas

We boarded our dogs over xmas break. 2 large dogs, got to play, not super expensive, easy cancelation policy in case you change your mind and as I understand it parents of the owners own the ranch behind it. In case there is any trouble after hours. Only wish I have would be to get updates about the pups during their stay.

Staff told us to drop off animals on a Saturday before 5pm. I showed up at 4pm and they were closed. Completely ruined the plans I had. They have ridiculous business hours and are closed on Sunday which forces you to board earlier than you want, resulting in unnecessary cost.

The dogs are always happy to go. They love their outdoor playtime.

My husband and I frequently board our senior beagle at another pet resort off 380 in McKinney with a lot of acreage, but they were booked last time we needed them and wound up bring our beagle to Castle Creek instead. And while we have nothing against this other pet resort (we're always happy with them), our beagle was always so EXHAUSTED after staying there. She would come home and crash in her kennel and sleep all day and night and not want to get up until the next morning. I'm not sure if she was not getting the rest she needed or if they were exercising her too much, but she came home so happy from Castle Creek! The staff were all so kind, and seemed sad to see her go. I called again recently to re-book her for an upcoming trip, and the gentleman on the phone literally went "Yay!" went I told him she would be coming in to see them. Castle Creek also did an excellent job with her grooming, and the prices were comparative to what we were already paying at the other pet resort. Highly recommended!

Such a great spa and resort! We absolutely love dropping off our pups to get groomed and for daycare visits! The staff truly care and loves our puppies and makes sure they look perfect come pick up time! We couldn’t imagine taking them anywhere else! Love Castle Creek!

My dog has gone to Castle Creek for daily daycare since she was a puppy and she’s 4 years old now and she loves it and she adores the owner and staff! The spacious private rooms and natural grass to run on, as well as outstanding professionalism, are what makes Castle Creek different and better than any other facility in the area. They treat their dogs and owners as family and they have truly become part of our family! They take time to understand each dog and owner to make sure their services are customized for maximum care of their clients. I am just one of a group of “regulars” whose dogs attend daycare daily and have for years and I recommend Castle Creek very highly and always suggest them to family, friends and coworkers. I don’t board my dog very often but when I do they are top notch and take excellent care of my baby when I am traveling. Their grooming staff is also excellent! Overall I give my highest recommendation to Castle Creek as a customer for over 4 years.

My dog Moxie stays here when we are out of town. She looks forward to staying here, loves the people and getting to play with other dogs. Great place, can't recommend more.

This place and the people working there are amazing with pets. They take special care of animals knowing, as animal owners themselves, how they would want their fur babies treated. Anyone who listens to a review of a fake company name does not do appropriate research.

I cant see why anyone would go here,prices are high, quality of the facility is low. I didnt feel that people were super proud of the place either. I was greatly disappointed in the facility. I don't like the structure that houses the dogs. It could flood, the metal roof lacks stability during strong winds, I dont like the doggie door to go out (walk themselves) because a rat or snake could come into the dog room where the dog is eating and sleeping. The building where the animals stay sets separate from the main building. It's a poor design.

My dogs who hate going anywhere love coming here. I love the service I get and the communication is top notch. I know that whether my pups are there for grooming or boarding that they’ll be cared for like they were at home (usually they are spoiled more). Recommend to anyone I meet.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! Do not board your dogs here! We board our dogs around 3-5 times a year and this was our second time here. First time was decent, but not during a holiday like this weekend (I think they are too busy and need more staff... or just better staff). First issue started when they wouldn't take half of the toys we brought for them, toys we brought the first time and had no issue with. Second issue happened when I called and ask for someone to take a picture of my dogs so I could make sure they were okay. I was told "we do not take pictures and send them to owners, we only post photos on our FB page, so check there and maybe you will see one if the techs have time" This really upset me, but I let it go. CUSTOMER TIP TO THE OWNER THOUGH: I paid over $500 for my dogs to stay with you. If I want a picture of my dog, take 3 minutes to send one to me. DO NOT tell me you only post them on social media for good publicity and do not post one without my consent. Anyway I moved on passed that like I said and the dogs stayed for the remainder of the time. During pickup around 8:30-9am it got SO MUCH WORSE!! No one seemed to even know my dogs names and when we walked out both dogs peed and pooped right on their front door steps. Obviously no one had taken them out to the bathroom which is unacceptable. Also, weirdly both of their paws and bellies were wet like they had just spayed them down with a water-hose or something? It was very weird and when I walked back inside to ask the tech when they last went out to the bathroom he couldn't even give me a stable answer. He stuttered, was not able to look at me and said " when we get in around 7:30-8am." I am calling BS on that. My dogs had not been out to the bathroom. Both of my dogs are very well trained and they could not even hold it. Ridiculous. To add to that I got home to unpack and NOT ONE treat I took to them had been used. I was also missing their blankets and beds, so I called up there and asked about them and then was told they were being washed and were in the dryer" ??? I'm sorry what? You didn't do that the first time and why would they be in the dryer unless they were dirty?? They also don't give your pet a bath unless your pay $25 dollars - no way in hell they are washing every dog bed out of the kindness of their heart. That also brings me back to my earlier statement that when I picked them up their paws and bellies were wet like someone has just spayed them off.....? My personal conclusion is that my dogs were left in an 8x8 kennel, rarely taken out, and were left in a disgusting box for 5 days. I will not be taking my dogs back and I suggest you stay far away. Enjoy my $500 Castle Creek, you will not be seeing me or my dogs ever again. If you are a potential client please also take time to read the other 1 star reviews that have been left, then read what the owners response is! Sounds like a COMPLETE JERK to me and can't take feedback. I can't wait to hear how the terrible experience I had is somehow my fault in the owners blind eyes. Let's hear it Castle Creek owner! Looking forward to your ridiculous and disrespectful response to my review.

People are nice and friendly and my Labrador loves to go to doggy daycare here. Very clean and my pooch is very well taken care of.

Nice facility for boarding dogs. Friendly staff. Our dogs love going here. Modern facilities with indoor and outdoor sections of each boarding room. Play time opportunities for all the dogs. Deducting one star because most phone calls reach an answering machine and you're playing telephone tag after that. Update - They've added staff to handle the phones so restoring 5th star.

Took my dogs here after another boarding company said one of my dogs was aggressive towards other dogs and humans. They actually listened to my concerns about him. They helped slowly introduce him with other dogs. Dogs had a good time and came home healthy. Definitely taking our dogs back.

This place is cream of the crop! My baby had surgery today and needed a butt wash. Dessi CAME TO MY HOUSE to our rescue. I will never go anywhere else and praise them to the moon and back.

Castle Creek has a unique option called "Private Play," which is perfect for my human-loving dog Henry. He loves going to Castle Creek and gets lots of love and attention from people and gets exposure to other dogs but from a safe distance because he can be other dog aggressive. I have used Castle Creek for boarding, grooming, daycare and photography. All their services have been excellent!
