I’m giving a 5 star review BUT I do have an issue that should definitely be addressed, and I’m only putting it here so I know the owner sees it. We have always had nothing but a positive experience here. This morning my two dogs had an appointment: one at 8am and one at 8:30 (pictures attached for proof). I show up at 8am and we get sent to a room. A little while later I can hear the staff talking about me from the other room. I heard someone say something like “the appointment is at 8:30 and she showed up at 8:00.” In a tone that sounded (in my opinion) annoyed. I heard some more talking about it, but I could not make out what was being said exactly. I am giving 5 stars because I love this clinic and I do not know the whole situation here. HOWEVER, I feel that complaining about clients in any form where they can hear you is very unprofessional, and should be addressed with the staff. I am really hoping I misunderstood the situation as I used to feel welcomed here, but after overhearing the staff talking about me from the other room I immediately felt very unwelcomed and I just wanted to get out as fast as I could…

You can tell everyone working there has a love of animals. My cat usually hates the vet but she was very calm at this one. She was even purring as they gave her a shot. :)

I recently just moved here and needed care for my two fur babies. Yesterday I came home from work and saw my 16 week old puppy was swollen. She basically looked like a balloon. I rushed her in the car and called our vet. They informed me there was no doctor in which I completely understand like we all have a life. But no one would see me because I was sick (not Covid already got tested. Just allergies acting up). So I took her to our vet in hopes they can tell me something I can do at home. The staff was absolutely rude. Sheri snapped at me for even bringing her in. And called other animal hospitals giving them false symptoms. My dog was completely swollen not just one side. But she insisted it was one side without even looking at her. I was stressed and worried about my pup and no one would take us. Luckily I got advice from a vet for an at home treatment so we both can recover together. And another lovely animal hospital not only helped me feel better but my puppy too. I’m horrified on how Sheri spoke to me like I was a bad dog mom, and made me feel ten times worst that my pup was having an allergic reaction. Luckily we found out she’s allergic to spiders. Thanks to another hospital.

Acres North has a great online appointment system. I like the vets (when they’ve been present for the appointments, which is not always). However, I do find the vet techs to be a little judgmental. I go here because they offer 15% off on Tuesdays for students. I shouldn’t be looked down on for being honest about my budget with possibly unnecessary tests like fecal kits which are $50/pet. I should also not be side-eyed for choosing a cheaper flea and tick medication. I care about my babies, so much, and I keep them up-to-date on all vaccinations and bring them in for additional visits when I’m concerned. But I also have a strict budget as a grad student, and I’m going to look for less-expensive but comparable treatments when I can. This won’t keep me from using Acres North, but I’m thankful I’ll be moving by next summer, so I will be able to find another vet clinic that is hopefully more welcoming.

I really did like this place. It has definitely changed. I like the vet techs and the vet seems to know what they're doing. It's the customer service that sucks. Sorry but it does. I don't and can't trust this company an longer. At least admit when you're wrong and make it right. That's how you keep your customers. I'm so disappointed!

We love Acres North. We have had pets all our life and have taken them to other vets in Lubbock. Acres North is hands down the best and most affordable we have come across. The staff is amazing with the animals too.

My dog was very happy with his care and stay. He was giving the caregiver lots of kisses and was not wanting to leave. I would definitely recommend them and use there boarding again. Thanks Acres North staff y'all did a great job.

I used to love this vet clinic, but recently they decided to behave in draconian ways and limit people from being present for the pet's exam. Sorry, you lost my business and I hope you lose a lot more.

I used the Acres North for my cat with pneumonia for the last one and a half months. However, I really regret to use this hospital which is lack of skills, responsibilities, and manners. My cat, Horan, has passed away Sunday 2 a.m., April 11, 2021. I called to the Acres North hospital Saturday asking for help as he was getting worse breathing. The receptionist responded without responsibility that putting him in the moisturized bathroom and giving him nice food. Actually, my cat went to the emergency clinic Friday 3 a.m. and the doctor in the emergency clinic suspected him with asthma rather than pneumonia as it was diagnosed. The next morning (Friday) I went to the Acres North and told the messages from the emergency clinic. Then, the doctor in the Acres North declared that my cat has an asthma without any information but the opinion from the emergency clinic. I believe that the naive response from the receptionist in Saturday was based on the diagnosis of asthma for my cat. After my cat passed away, I called to the Acres North to ask about refund for medicines for asthma treatment. I already realized that I could not get full refund as it is prescription products and the ordering systems are different. So, I wanted to find some resolutions such as discounted refund or donations. Instead of some effort to solve the problems, the receptionist scoffed at me. "We could not refund it because you did not buy it from us, HUH!" The doctor in the Acres North diagnosed disease without x-rays or other proper exams. The receptionist provided improper solutions. The receptionist responded me rudely. If you love your pets and help them in an emergency situation, I recommend never rely on the Acres North and go to the emergency clinic as soon as possible.

We will be finding another vet clinic. Ive never seen the same people twice. They made us wait in our cars because they had the lobby closed which is stupid since everywhere has opened back up like normal. They didnt tell me any of this on the phone when i made my appointment and they had to reschedule me twice. Just ridiculous!!

The folks at Acres North are just awesome. They truly care about their clients and are compassionate and caring with my pet. With curbside service, wait time was excellent. Dr. Mathre took time to answer all of my questions and explain things carefully to me. I never felt rushed or as if I was taking too much time. I highly recommend.

From the reminder of your appt call to check out, everyone was so nice and friendly. When my dog was a little apprehensive they got down in the floor and played with her and loved on her. Dr. Mathre was wonderful!

I really appreciated the doctor, Dr. Lindsay Mathre and her technicians. They have always helped with our dog's need and at times have become a life saver while my dog entered into her senior years. When it was time that our beautiful "Pup" crossed over that rainbow bridge the doctor and her technician Harlen made a difficult experience easier. They helped our dog cross over quickly and painlessly. They helped her stay healthy for her to live 16yrs with us. Our Border Collie is off and running again like she has been wanting to. Thank you, for your all your help.

I would like to thank the staff for the care Duchess received. (my 5 yr old Schnauzer) She was severely injured by a heating blanket and received a thermal burn to her skin. The staff at Acres North showed genuine concern towards Duchess. I feel like she received the best care possible. During her visits to the clinic we were not allowed inside. (Covid) When I called the clinic, the staff was friendly and very informative regarding the procedures and treatment for Duchess. I felt confident leaving her knowing she was in their care. Thank you Acres North for saving my baby ????❤???? .

Making an appointment was easy. The staff was very efficient and let me know they were behind that day (which I appreciate the heads up) once my dog was taken in they were quick to get back to me regarding the issue. Good reasonable pricing and overall great staff!

Considering all of the safety precautions in place, this was a great visit. It went smoothly, my kitten was not distressed even though he spent a great deal of time in his carrier, and of course the staff was awesome. My little guy had his paw fixed and he is back playing with his brothers and sisters. Thank you to everyone at Acres North!

I am new to Lubbock and my previous vet suggested Acres North. My dachshund had broken his toenail into the quick and was in a lot of pain. I called, and they were able to get him in the same day. They were so kind and caring. Loved the sweet British tech!
