Horrible my dog died five hours after getting an xray from them . Don't use them read the paperwork now i have to star them

I called because my pit bull was not peeing a lot. I told them I needed her to see the vet. They were very rude and told me they couldn’t see her till Friday. I ended up taking my pit to the emergency vet to find out that her bladder was enlarged and about to burst due to a stone blockage in her urethra.

So I’m sure this company will know who I am. I have a Great Dane who I explained need someone that is confident that can handle him. He’s not aggressive and he does not bite and never has. He gets nervous and barks which tends to scare people and understandably so. He does not do well with other dogs. Again anyone who can truly handle dogs he has no problem with. He gets so nervous that he needs to pick up in the confidence around him. Anywho, they wanted pre-payment of the appointment I made. I’ve never been to a place who wants pre-payment due to how my Odin May react. If your not able to handle my Odin it’s ok, no worries. Better to be up front about it than ask for pre-payment. It was baffling to hear of such a thing. SMH… It takes a strong confident person to handle him. I will say the person who answered the phone was friendly so that was a good thing. The place that I’ve taken him before does a great job there just a little bit out of my way but I guess that’s where I’ll be going. Continue my business with Animal Hospital of Park Glen it is.

Hands-down the best place you’re going to take your fur baby. We board here regularly and our dog is always so excited to go. He’s an oversized dog and they always seem to have space for him there when we need it. The staff has always been great and very friendly I can’t say enough good things about this place.

Alta Vista is the best veterinary clinic by far! We drive over 30 minutes to see Dr Hutchison and her staff who all take excellent care of our 2 Boxers and 1 Great Dane. Recommended 110%

My experience was very good. Everyone I met was very nice and helpful. It truly seemed as they are there to help and take of our furry friends and not just try to make you pay for a lot of medication that is not needed. unlike other vet I just came from that truly looked at me and saw dollar signs and did not really care for my pet. I would definitely recommend Alta Vista to anyone with pet care needs.

If you're in the neighborhood, visit the Taco Truck located in their parking lot. Get the $3. tacos made with beef and plantains. Delicious!

Their concern for our pets is outstanding. I have been coming here for 14 years and 5 different pets over that time and they have loved them all.

My dog isn’t socialized and gets really anxious around others so we have to muzzle him as a precaution. The vets and front desk didn’t turn us away like most places and are so attentive to us when we come in every single time making it a stress free visit for him and myself. I really appreciate their kindness and willingness to help. They didn’t push medications on us and actually gave us a list to review before any charges unlike the last veterinarian we saw.

Very unprofessional! I will never recommend this establishment to any one who cares about their animals. They are solely here for profit! My dog came in with issues using the restroom (constipation) we were told he has diarrhea!?! Are you kidding me!? Mind you this was AFTER my husband was rudely greeted outside! Very unprofessional! DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMALS HERE!

If you are looking for a good place for your animal this is an amazing family oriented loving place to take them I have never seen a group of people that love my animals as much as I do I highly recommend them for all of your veterinary needs

I loved this family owned and operated vet. The prices are reasonable and they don't try to upsell you. I liked that they asked me if I had any concerns. They also looked at everything including my dogs temperment. Great place. No odd smells and was clean.

They make it rediculously difficult to purchase medicine online. They refuse to talk to online vets and so if you’re looking for a fair price for medicine, do no choose this place. I chose them because they are down the street and do a decent job, but it seems all they care about is money. I understand they have to make money, but they charge almost double for their medicine. For example, you can order trifexis online for $160 online and if you buy it from them they charge you $310. And as I said above, they make it almost impossible for you to order the medication online as they refuse so work with any online stores so don’t go here unless you are willing to waste a lot of money. **UPDATE** I got the prescription from Altavista however they refused to sign it unless I got it filled from them which makes it effectively useless as no one will take an unsigned prescription. So I went to Banfield down the street. They were willing to accept the heartworm test and sign a persctiption to get filled online though I decided to get it filled with them as they were over $100 cheaper than Alta Vista. I’m just bothered with the entire situation and all the extra hours I had to put in just to get my dog affordable heartworm medicine. If you’d like to save a lot of headache when it comes to your vet and not spend an arm and a leg, I’d recommend choosing somewhere else. Went here for the convienence and definitely payed the price... From now on I will shop around for the best vet. And for reference, most online stores are regulated by the nabp which is a government agency that ensures quality. It is unfortunate when people try to spread misinformation just to make more money.

Terribly unprofessional business. We have been taking our pets to Alta Vista off and on for 10 years. We have always paid our bills on time and in full. We use this vet because of it’s convenient location to where we live, half a mile away. My dog became sick on Monday with a fever, very hot pink skin, and rash all over her body, shaking, and just miserable. The doctor saw her for 5 minutes and ran a blood test which showed nothing was wrong. The bill was $280 and I teared up in the office because I didn’t have the money to pay the bill at that time :’( The receptionist let us go home. We spoke with her 2 days later, on Wednesday. We agreed to pay the bill in full on that Friday. Thursday, the doctors brother, Scott, called and told us he would call the police and have us arrested if we didn’t pay the bill. I explained that we had spoken with their office the day before and explained that the bill would be paid in full when I get paid, the next day, Friday. Scott said he spoke with my 77 year old mother and that her word was not good enough for him that he needed to speak with me directly. He had called me 4 times within a 2 day period, before we spoke on Thursday. As I mentioned, we have been loyal patients of Alta Vista for 10 years, never once leaving a bill unpaid. We have always paid our bill in full, and on time. When I called on Friday and paid the bill in full over the phone, I told Scott how awful we have been treated with his threat to have us arrested within 3 days of the office visit, and he hung up on me. The doctor, by the way, has never introduced herself to me. Her staff has never once introduced themselves ever. On this last visit, I had pictures on my phone and a video of my dog’s rash and of her shaking. The doctor did not want to see the pictures or video. We cannot in good faith ever return to this ve’s office. The building has a terrible unclean animal wast odor that is overwhelming from the time you enter the front door. Over the years, there has been discrepancies in billing. We’ve always paid the bill as we did not want to haggle. But, the unprofessionalism and degrading treatment we received this week was unacceptable. We will never take our pets there ever again.

Excellent. Family owned and operated. Dr. Hutchinson is a true animal lover with a gentle loving approach to animal care. We have been a client of Alta Vista for 10 years and would go nowhere else.

The staff and the vet are extremely unprofessional. Customer service is important to me, but I moreso care about knowing I can trust putting my pet's health into a medical professional's hand. I do not feel that way about Dr. Hutchinson. She is not professional or good at her job and I definitely would not trust a vet that doesn't even properly prescribe medication to perform a surgery on my pet. The receptionists also don't seem to know how to do their job, which leads to being misinformed and improperly charged. I would avoid this place, there are much better vets that cost the same or less.
