We woke up this morning and our collie was having trouble breathing and standing. It’s Sunday so no regular vets are open. After giving it some time and medicine that day with no improvement we decided to head over to Vergi vet. Their Covid policy was still in place so a technician met us outside with a gurney to help our dog in. I thought this was really thoughtful. The technician was really kind and helpful, I wish I could remember her name (it’s been a rough night). She was Black with long braided hair and I really appreciated her demeanor and assistance. After that try let us know she was stable in an oxygen tank and they were going to do some diagnostics. Dr. Singh (I hope this was her name but I might be butchering it. Again, it was a rough night.) was kind, knowledgeable, and compassionate through the whole process. Even as we made the decision to let our girl go, the doctor explained everything the whole way through and what was happening. The staff was well put together with burial options beforehand and they were all really compassionate If my girl had to go anywhere, I’m really glad it was here. Although this is a heartbreaking outcome I have nothing but good things to say about this staff. Thank you for everything.

They took my dog in right away when they were averaging a 6 hour wait time because he was critical. They made sure to address the pain immediately and took great care of him now he’s doing much better!

Well this is the second time they have saved my Frenchie Loki. I couldn't be more thankful and blessed to have him back by my side. Thank you. PS he keeps eating stuff like bees LOL .

My dog was diagnosed with a stomach tumor on Wednesday. A referral from our primary vet was made in Thursday. By Thursday night the tumor was removed and our fur baby was on the mend. Thank you for such fast and effective medical care!

The veterinarians and the staff at VERGI were incredibly professional, kind, and compassionate when I brought my cat, Bhodie, to them because of a urinary blockage. I was quite nervous and upset as this is a condition that is fatal if not treated promptly. While I was on the phone with one technician, another technician came out to my car and rushed my little guy in and began taking vitals. They reassured me that they would take the best care of him and let me know that the vet would call me as soon as they assessed him and began treatment. The vet called me before I left the parking lot and they had already begun IV fluids! Over the next couple of days, I received calls from 4 different vets who were involved in his care! They were incredibly kind and considerate and patiently answered any questions I had! This hospital exceeded all of my expectations and I will be forever grateful for the excellent care they gave my little guy. They are doing the work of the angels!

I'm not sure on how to start this because this took a very long time for me to be okay to write this but if I could give this place even more stars I would. My cat was there recently and they took AMAZING care of him with all their efforts to make him feel better, unfortunately he wasn't getting better (not for lack of trying). I had to put him down and that was extremely hard but they made me and him feel so comfortable and respected. I want to give a HUGE thank you to Dr. Garcia because she was AMAZING. She saw how much I loved him and I was devastated I couldn't bring his ashes home ( I really couldn't afford it) she then offered to pay the difference for me to be able to bring home after seeing how much time and money I had spent to save him and let me tell you that this is the sweetest and best women ever! I really just want her to know that without her I wouldn't have been able to bring my best friend home. I will forever be grateful for the efforts done by this hospital and staff.

As far as emergency room visits go this was not a bad one. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The vet came out to explain everything to me when I asked the tech a question she couldn't answer. I like the fact the technician didn't try to BS the answer and I like that the vet took the time to come out. Ella didn't seem to be overly traumatized by the experience even though she's a timid dog she was in the back for about 3 hours. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that they forgot to get payment and they do not treat the animals without payment. So we were there longer than necessary because they did nothing for 2 hours as reception forgot to get my credit card. I would go here again - and I would definitely recommend them to anyone with animals.

When our cat ingested a lily from a floral arrangement in the house, we rushed her to VERGI and they were able to save her! We are so thankful for this vet practice. The staff was gentle with our cat and kind to us. They were also very attentive, despite being busy during the holidays. We appreciate the hard work of the VERGI team very much and recommend them to anyone with an emergent case. Our pet was in danger of renal failure if she did not receive speedy treatment, and VERGI returned her happy and healthy. Thank you VERGI!!

We had a sick dog after being at a local kennel and were visiting Houston. We walked in and after filling out paperwork, we were seen relatively fast by a nurse, followed by an exam, and then a Dr. The meds worked well and within 24 hours we were back to almost normal. The $ bill was fair, and we were very satisfied with the entire visit.

I’ve read some reviews & I must say that I understand why some of the individuals think a certain way. I must disagree with them because I’ve had a great experience here. Yes, the wait was long & yes my pet had to be triaged which is something humans have to go through as well. Doggie ER is like Human ER wait your turn we all have sick pets. I waited patiently even if it was 3 plus hours. I sat there and watched other owners come in with life threatening issues with their pet so I understand. The staff was pleasant & updated us as much as possible. I went in at 1:05am and it was pretty busy & I was told the wait could be up to 12hrs which was fine for me. I have a emergency & I knew I was in an environment where if my dog needed cpr they could do that. The pricing was reasonable and they even have care credit which helped out a lot. Dr. Chen/ Chang can’t recall the proper way they said her name. The Dr. Was so knowledgeable & so very clear on things that she didn’t leave he second guessing. I took all her advice & suggestions. I’m so thankful I did listen to her. I would recommend this place to other even though someone stated the wait is too long. Relax remember all our babies are important to us & the vet is using all its resources. Sadly my dog Kelly G did have the best care, but it was his time to cross the rainbow. Everyone was helpful & great when it came time to say goodbye to my best friend.

My pup spent a total of 15 hours in this office over 2 visits across 3 days for a gash in 'ankle'. $700 spent to put the dog under and give him stitches - stitches that busted out hours after being put in. Doctor said this is common for that location. So what was the end result? Literally neosporin and letting the wound heal on its own. This was not even discussed as an option on the front end. My poor dog and wallet. This place is a joke. Please believe all of the other similar reviews to this one. Also - I see the common response to these reviews is to please call the operations manager and discuss. I made it a point to give this feedback directly to the leadership at the office. Zero remorse.

My cat is not the same after his visit here. I wonder how he was treated by your staff. He has seen plenty of vets prior with no issue but now my lil guy lost his personality. What are yall doing to these animals? I wonder how rough you are to these poor fellers.

Highway robbery. Don’t go. They didn’t care to treat your animals and lie stating that everything is fine. But your pet is still sick. Then charge more for your pet staying longer. My pet is suffering.

My cat was diagnosed with lymphoma a couple months ago and we were giving him the best life possible. Last night he went downhill very quickly so we came here around midnight since our regular vet was closed to let him rest. They were so kind and compassionate in helping us in his last moments. Great place.

Vergi saved my pup from sago palm toxicity. I brought him in and he was seen quickly. I waited for about an hour while they evaluated him and worked up an estimate. I left him in their care for two days during which the doctor's called multiple times a day to provide updates. The final bill was within the high and low estimate so there was no surprise. Hope I never have to see them again, but I know my pups will be in good hands if I do!

HORRIBLE PLACE PLEASE STAY AWAY !! got to the vet at 7 pm and they took my 3 month cat in ,but as soon as they took her in they gave me a bill of 850 for not even doing anything yet. I declined the offer because it was way over my budget. they said they'll go to the doctor to see if they can lower the cost . Literally to be hit with 750 dollar bill again. Feeling hopeless and desperate for my kitten to feel better I decided to go through with the payment. They briefly explain what I was paying for I asked for more detail only to be waiting in the room for 2 more hours so I can talk to someone . I went to the front desk to ask to speak to someone again ,but only to be waiting another 30 minutes just to tell me they cant even come to talk to me because there so busy . But not to busy to charge me the 750 dollars !! They told me to just go ahead and go home for the night . I asked how long till I can see my cat again and they couldn't even answer that. They said they'll call me when she's ready to pick up. So I decided to go home keep in mind this is 30 minutes drive away from where I live. I got a call at 1 am just to tell me that I have to pay an additional 2400 just to save my cats life && not even sure if she'll survive afterwards. Decide to just go pick her up because it was way to much. Only to be charge again for 130 dollars for apparently keeping her over night for 9 hrs inside the oxygen tank. When am pretty sure she was there for only 6 hrs. Anyways I decided to go ahead and pay again just to get her out of there. Only to be left with used antibiotics that someone didn't use && a 900 almost 1000 dollar cost for doing absolutely nothing for my kitten ! ????

I was in and out in an hour. My puppy had an allergic reaction and was given a Benadryl and steroid shot. Everyone was very friendly. This is my first time having a pet dog and I have only had her a week, however, they were very informative and made sure I understood everything that was going on. They didn't charge me until after everything was done. It was a little pricey, but it is an emergency center, so I expected that much. Overall, great place!

These folks are smart, kind, caring and priced right. They are top notch!! Wish we I could use them as my full time vet. The vets around my area are so uptight and non communitive. They hire the cheapest people at the check in and cheap usually relates to intelligence.No emergency care for a long client during normal hours is a foreign idea to them. Use Vergi 24/7 when you're I doubt during 9-5 Monday through Friday.Thats what I did for peace of mind. This is my doggie all better, 'tracking a rabbit' the next day!

Have an emergency.? Your best bet is to go somewhere else. Came here at around 7 p.m for a small check up and parvo test. They said they’d be out in a few minutes - took like 40. Then they did the test and they said we’ll be back in 10 minutes - called them an hour later to check up and they said it would be a few more hours. I simply requested they give my pup back and I’d go somewhere else - that took about 30 minutes as well. Left around 10:30 p.m.

They did a good job for my dog . They were attentive and easy to get ahold of. I have been to a few emergency vets. This is the best one I have been to. I would recommend this place.

As a rescue in SE Texas, we see a lot of really horrific illness and injuries. Vergi, 100% hands down, is the only animal ER, in the area, with the experience, compassion and ability to triage critical cases! The doctors and staff have helped us save so many lives!!!

I brought my cat to Vergi Sunday at 1am and I left at 2am. My cat was there. I paid $800 up front (NEVER DO THAT). They left my 17yr old cat suffering for 12 hours before they did anything with him. I went at 1pm and raised hell then immediately they were "seeing" him and doing all the tests. I ended up having him euthanized. Vergi let him suffer for a needless 12 hours. I will NEVER use this emergency clinic again and will make sure I tell everyone to take their pet somewhere else. My kitty was my soulmate. I did everything I could to help him and these jerks let him suffer unnecessarily!!! For that you deserve this bad review!!

The best doctor and staff ever!! First time coming here for an emergency. We were quickly attended without the pressure of “how are you paying”!! All professionals but most of all so kind!! Highly recommend the entire staff! Thank you for your kindness!

I've been to Vergi for life or death pet emergencies, more than once (lol) and have always had more than satisfactory experiences! Their isn't another er, with comparable pricing, experience and COMPASSION in the Houston area!

Me and my fiancé took our sweet girl Mali here. They were so kind and treated her like the princess she was. Unfortunately, due to the fact we were unable to catch her pyometra in time, combined with age, she did not make it. However, they were so amazing and caring. When they called to tell us the news they were choked up. To know she was with people that really cared about her well being gives me a lot of peace. She loved people so much. She was so loved and she will be so very missed. I’m so grateful for Vergi. They truly are amazing. They didn’t try to price gouge us like a previous vet ER. They ended up refunding me the money we didn’t use. Thank you all so much for your professionalism, kindness, and compassion during a very difficult time for our family.
