These people care. Had my dog pass away recently and the lady tending us was comforting, and kind, and genuine. As pleasant as an experience like that can be.. Thank you for the signed letter, all at VCA.

$2000 bill for my pet being here over night. As soon as we left he passed in my arms. I would never suggest anyone to use their services as I felt like he wasn’t truly cared. I would try Sunset or Westbury for emergency services instead

They took good care of my dog when she ate something she should'nt've. I called them ahead of time and was informed about the possible procedures and pricing. The staff were all very polite and super informative ???? So grateful they helped me with my dog!

Dr. Head, the vet at this facility, instructed his technician to inject my dog with anti-vomiting medicine, without my knowledge or consent. He also presupposed my dog's condition (overeating and bloat) was not urgent, and declined to look at him, even for a preliminary assessment. I left after 2.5 hours of waiting, having received no communication from the staff other than being informed they had injected my dog with Cerenia on their own initiative. I found out later from the technician that the reason Dr. Head ordered the injection was because my dog had thrown up in the lobby and he didn't want him to continue doing so. There was no consideration for my dog's health, it was simply a decision for their convenience. After the VCA technician administered the anti-vomiting injection, my dog was left with a stomach filled with air that he could not express. He tried to vomit for hours and could not. By 2am, his stomach had expanded to 4x its normal size. It had also twisted inside his body. I went to another animal hospital (Sunset) hours later. In less than 5 minutes they determined his condition was life-threatening and he was admitted immediately, despite the fact that the hospital had a 3-4 hour wait (just like VCA) for stable patients. It took the other hospital an x-ray and 10 minutes to confirm my dog had GDV and required immediate surgery to save his life. People depend on emergency animal hospitals to provide care in life threatening situations. I came to VCA Animal Emergency Hospital with one. Instead of providing care, they deemed him a nuisance and without even assessing his condition or talking to me, they injected him with medication that prevented his body from expelling the food and air he had ingested.

I don't think I can say enough about this hospital. We brought our cat in the other night after she had been in the care of our primary vet. She worsened substantially ,after the vet closed, and we felt she needed to be in the hospital. The staff cared so much for her and was willing to answer my calls all night asking for a status update. They constantly kept us informed on everything and put my mind at ease leaving her. They not only treated her but us with respect. She improved today after her stay at the hospital and again at her primary care vet. Blessed to have a wonderful and safe place to take our animals if they ever have an emergency.

They are so understandable and attentive. We had a huge emergency with my cat and they responded to the situation in such a proactive and positive manner. The people that work there love what they do and you can tell.

It feels like a scam once you are there. The young, blond veterinarian was very unprofessional, the rest of the staff were very professional. The vet does not know how to communicate with people. They are very high in price. We took our boxer there for a 1 1/2 inch deep cut in his front right leg that needed stitches. Our boxer is very tame. The vet wanted to charge us $1100 to place 4 stitches but also wanted to sedate her to do it. My husband asked her why she couldn't just do a local sedative and she said she didn't have to answer his questions. She said that is not how it works. Said she didn't want to be bitten. They do have muzzles but I guess she didn't think of that. The sedation was going to be almost $500. She asked my husband if he wanted to do it and he wishes he had said yes. W We were shocked at how she responded. We ended up asking them to rewrap it and we would take her to the vet the next morning. That alone cost $200 but they did provide the antibiotic and pain medication. We took boxer to vet the next morning and they placed 8 staples in her leg with no sedation nor block or anything. She didn't even cry for pain. That cost $138.00. What a scam this ER is with their high prices! What a joke!!! I would never go there again. Their main concern is if you are going to pay or not.

Staff was very responsive and compassionate for our two dogs who ate toxic foods. Both came out perfectly fine. Staff was very nice. Facility was clean and felt safe for my dogs. A little pricey but it IS an emergency clinic, so that is to be expected. I would recommend to anyone in the Houston area.

Brought my puppy there that I just brought was diagnosed with parvo, sent him home with meds, they only care about money, not animals. If I could give minus zero stars trust me I would. Also never felt so discriminated against in my life.I wouldn’t recommend this vet and these crooks to anyone. After my puppy passed I called the vet spoke to someone there and she tried to tell me discharged papers said what to give him that’s a lie,if they comment back I will post the discharge papers on here and show them there not telling the truth. They charge you out your a— and your fur baby still dies.Vet still confirms dog will mostly likely live and refuse to admit in hospital even though I had $1,000 cash.Sad Then to top it off the 5 star reviews is mostly the vet tech, there family and friends. PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR BABY HERE Wish I could give 0 stars

Very poor attention. I took my kitten in today due to vomiting , weak & wasn’t responding normally. Instead of taking a look at him they sat me down & I waited for 20mins & he passed away in my arms. NEVER GOING HERE AGAIN !!!!!

They saved my cat Dallas on August 29th from a bad urinary blockage that I did not caught in time. They performed CPR on my baby when he wasn’t breathing and got him back up. Dr. Poche is a really good and compassionate Dr and kept me updated at all times. Vet techs were wonderful especially Andrea who was working on my baby when he arrived. Receptionist Lana Was such a wonderful and sweet lady from the moment I arrived. For all that, I am very grateful to them. It was the worst night of my life and will use them for emergency cases. (Hopefully it doesn’t happen again)

Don't ever take your dog here. Words can't even explain the heartache me and my family are going through. VCA ANIMAL HOSPITAL IS THE WORST PLACE EVER!! My beloved Frosty has passed. I can't believe they had the nerve to tell me, in order for us to save your dogs life we need 1000 dollars. Wow! You can't save my dog life first!!

Over priced. Does not care about the animals and only in it for the money. Vultures. They know you care about your animals and you're in an emergency so they Jack up their prices because they know you have no other options. They don't care about the animals or owners. Only what they can get out of you financially. Their prices are almost triple that of a regular vet.

Dont go here if you have an emergency. they will keep you waiting 4 hours & then over charge because its an "emergency" hospital. last time I checked emergencies were treated alot faster for the fact that its an EMERGENCY. Very unprofessional staff that could care less about the animals in their care.

I brought my unresponsive dog in and they took immediate action, kept her overnight and worked with our budget. All the staff members were amazing in helping us with the trauma of almost losing our baby. Thank you so much for the dedication and love.

We had a pet bunny in distress having trouble breathing. John said they didn’t take bunnies but, stated don’t hang up I’ll help you find somewhere. In the meantime we were on our other pounds calling and found a place that will take the bunny. When John came back on the phone I told him that we found a place. He stated if they can’t help you please call us back and I will help you again. That was the most professional help that we have had over the phone in this emergency crisis. Thank you so much!!!

If I could leave 0 stars I would. My family took our dog to this wicked place and before anything could be done they said that they needed 1000.00 dollars. So with no other option we paid it. Later on that night we got a call that there is nothing that can be done and they recommended to put our dog down. So with major decisions to be made our family goes up to the hospital to say our last goodbye and our dog comes in the room looking sick but he was alert and wagging his tail and that's when we said no to putting him down. Then they had told us that they would let us know if anything ended up cost more than the 1000 we already paid. Not true. They then told us that they would need a additional 400 dollars in order to take the dog home so we paid it and for a total of 1400 dollars we got nothing as far as meds to take home for him. We took him to another vet and found out that he still has a chance of 70% on life due to a heat stroke. They gave him some meds and IV and sent him home with some meds to take. He is getting better now but slowly and has more movement and is starting to eat some food. So think twice before taking your pet to VCA they are crooks who just want money and are the grim reaper for wanting to take the life of a pet you still has a chance.

Theres a reason they are open only at night 6pm to 8am. To charge charge charge...... let me say this again! Charge you out the a$$. Paid $3,700 for a service I normally pay $700 for. This is robbery. One lady with a shaved head was super nice but this place derserves every bad thing they get for charging people they way they do!!!! RESPONSE TO 6/17/21reply from the vet clinic: I have my reciept and price list. Should I do a break down of what you charged versus what my vet charges. I will make a itemized list and repost it here and you cant possibly have a explanation for these charges. Id looove to see the next reply. What could possibly make your charges 3700 from what my vet charges 700.

Staff was wonderful to work with! My dog (Scrappy) went in on Tuesday barely alive and they took such great care of him. Offered guidance on where to go for treatment and had to return for the following two nights. Every staff member that I met was so helpful and seemed as if they genuinely cared ! Especially Lana who took my calls at night to reassue me he was doing well and always very pleasant!

Everyone there was so kind in our time of need. We had to put our 11yr old boxer down. They were all very compassionate and took care of our baby and didn't rush us. I appreciate the time they gave us to say our good bye.

Our rescue dog had been hit by a car at its foster home. We took him to VCA. Very professional and very caring people working there. The vet, Dr. Page, explained the extent of his injuries. She took her time, listening and answering all of our questions. We had to make a very hard decision, and all of the staff were so attentive to our dog and to us. All of them were extremely kind to our dog and to us. These are good and knowledgeable people working there. I highly recommend VCA to anyone who needs emergency care care for their fur family. I wish they had a regular vet clinic in addition to their emergency clinic. I would take all of my pets there, if they did, for their regular vet visits. Definitely 5+ stars. Thank you VCA for being there for our Canelo.

We brought our dog in to the VCA pet hospital this morning. The staff could not have been more kind, respectful, caring, compassionate, and were ever so gentle and lovingly took care of our little dog. They brought us in immediately with no waiting to take care of our dog. Dr. Head and the staff at the clinic went above and beyond to help our baby and saved our beloved dog's life today. The prices were reasonable, and they provided top-notch standard of care for our pet. Tonight we brought our dog back in since he wasn't drinking any water, and they gave him subcutaneous fluids for no extra charge. After working a 12+ hour shift, Dr. Head still took the time to carefully explain to me and show me how to care for my dog's wound, and how/when to administer his medications. It is evident that this clinic truly cares about animals and their owners, and they understand how important pets are to their owners. We were so impressed by their professionalism, kindness, and the outstanding care they gave to our precious baby. I recommend this clinic 100%. If you have a pet emergency and live in the greater Houston area, this is the place to bring your pet.
