Dr. Granson and her amazing team were there for us when our precious Jack became very ill on a Sunday. When no one would see him in our area the staff worked us in to be seen. I couldn’t be more grateful. Dr. Granson provided loving, compassionate, and thorough care to our Jack. Almost every day she would call to check on him or give us updates on his lab work. Unfortunately our sweet dog passed but we will never forget the care he received from such a loving vet office. The staff even sent us a sympathy card. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Granson and the amazing staff. ❤️

I read a few negative reviews of UAVH and I'm truly shocked and wonder about the people's level of grace and compassion that wrote them. My goal is not to upset those reviewers but to express my love of UAVH. I have had six animals in my lifetime and UAVH are by far the most caring Vet hospital I've encountered. This care for the patients and their owners stems from Dr. Granson. She goes above and beyond to speak to you in detail about your pet's health, and I mean detail. It might not always be right away because this is a HOSPITAL where care of one animal might run into your appointment time but is usually the same day and often after hours. Her love for her clients is mirrored in her expectations of her staff. They are kind and generous and very busy taking care of their patients. Another thing I admire is the inclusiveness and diversity of the UAVH staff. They are a true representation of our city. Thank you Dr. Granson and staff for your kindness and care you show to all animals and their owners.

All staff members were so so nice and informative and genuinely happy to treat/give a checkup to our kitten Miso! It was her first vet appointment and they made the experience great for both Miso and us and we will definitely be sticking to this vet from now on!

I am very pleased with the care given to my 17 yr old cat who had 4 teeth (+4 more later) pulled. Call with reminder to check my email with docs for surgery, call from Dr. with details about surgery, all very kind and thorough! Pick up, again ,detailed and welcoming, extra care to show me x-rays, review pain meds, offered tooth, and just over all sincere caring. Never a problem with coivd, met me @ car. Front office is a small space, so doing 6ft is a little tight; HOWEVER, all staff masked and door locked so you can not freely enter until they are prepared to let you in. Great, flexible hours in wk and wkends. Ty and Nicole have been steady, welcoming, amazing staff members. Dr. G always ensures to provide costs of care and options and gives great advice. If you want a team that takes the time to know you and your pet and provides excellent care, I encourage you to check out UAV!!!

I appreciated that they could schedule my new puppy within the breeder's contract window and even moved the appointment up when the puppy had diarrhea the night before. While they knew my name & my puppy's name, no one (vet tech nor doctor) introduced themselves or wore name tags. I didn't know who I was talking to. They treated the diarrhea, did a fecal test (at my insistence) and started a 3 day de-wormer. Without any explanation they wanted to administer more vaccinations even though that was ahead of schedule. They did call the next day to report Giardia in the fecal test and recommend extending the de-wormer. However, they did not do a new puppy check as originally scheduled. So they missed the ear infection and dismissed my comments about frequent peeing so didn't check urine. I was able to take her to another vet (fabulous team) who did find the ear infection and a VERY serious urinary infection. We began treatments for those, too, so she is finally better now. I can't recommend this vet based on our experience.

Dr. Granson and her team are amazing. I started bringing my pit with skin issues a few months back and each time we come, the appt is thorough and never rushed. Dr. Granson is knowledgeable and tries to give you different options that cater to what you can afford. I know my dog is in great hands when we come here.

You cannot enter the facility if you are not vaccinated even with a mask. But once inside there is no 6ft distancing which seems counter intuitive. Fully respect business rights but also a customers choice of where to spend their money. Staff has many different personalities and not always polite. Everything is very slow. They wrote my dogs weight in kg instead of lbs on her profile which could have led to improper medication requests.

I've never felt more comfortable taking my dog to a vet. Dr Granson and her staff were wonderful

My little fur baby hates going to the vet as I'm sure most dogs do, but they calmed her down and were able to get us in and out pretty quickly. Dr Granson always does a good job, so you should definitely bring your dog here if you live in Houston!

Wide range of personalities, and not all staff (I.e. vet techs) understand customer service. Very slow with lab results (a week) compared to other clinics and info about meds not always correct (a misunderstanding perhaps to be kind). Clinic is however clean and safe. Lack of multiple vets makes this clinic a niche clinic… and also there is NO pet portal to check on due dates or other info. Vet will not spend a lot of time with you or your pet either, and everything is pricey. Fyi-You cannot enter building unless vaccinated and mask on.

The Urban vet clinic staff is great in every way; caring responsive, professional, personable. We and our two dogs are very happy to have found this clinic so close to our house.

I am a huge fan of Dr. Granson. I had to go through 5 vets before I found Dr. Granson to help me figure out the problems with my cat. She goes the extra mile-she researches solutions, finds out of the box options and validates with other colleagues. She also spends a lot of personal time to talk with you which is hard to find these days. I can't say enough good things about Urban Animal Hospital. The staff are all great too!

If you are looking for a kind and loving staff and doctor, bring your pet here! We had a stress-free visit even with shots. Completely professional! Just what a community vet should feel like.

Dr Granson and the UA team have been seeing my dog, Arlo, since we got him as a puppy. At 4 months old, Dr Granson caught a small heart murmur from my very hyper, wiggly dog. She caught this murmur that has now turned into a very serious heart condition that requires open heart surgery to cure. I've spent hours on the phone with Dr. Granson as she's guided me through this journey with my dog. Her dedication and genuine kindness towards Arlo and myself is the type of service that is truly remarkable and hard to put into words. She's bent over backwards to assist me in understanding Arlo's condition, calling specialist from around the world, and making sure that I get the best care for him so that we can save his life. If it wasn't for Dr. Granson and the UA team, my dog Arlo would likely live a very short life, but because of her and the UA team, Arlo will be given the chance to live a long life. THANK YOU UA TEAM! We are beyond grateful for everything that you do for Arlo and us. Arlo loves you guys too! Especially Ty!

My dog injured his leg over the weekend, and making an appointment was easy and quick. They were able to give a quick diagnosis and provide answers to all of my questions and concerns. Great to have some relief and not have to wait for an appointment during the work week. This was our first appointment at Urban Animal, and we will absolutely be back.

Don't waste your time. Their only solution to managing a dog is a muzzle, even for non aggressive dogs. Staff was pretty rude from the minute he was about to be taken back. Had to take my pup and records with me. They banged on the window, open the door and threw my records on the floor. After being threating by their staff, the exchange became pretty hostile. Thought I'd try to support a local vet but will move on to the next one. My dog was well taken care of by another facility that did NOT need to muzzle him. I'm sure their response, like other posts, will simply ignore the fact that they have real issues at this facility.

I took my dog here for an ear infection today because her usual vet couldn’t get her in for several days. Everyone from the receptionist to the vet tech to the vet herself was absolutely fantastic. They were all so nice and welcoming, and the vet tech took her time explaining to me exactly what was going on with my girl and how to administer her medicine to clear up her infection. Everyone took great care of my little girl! I also appreciated their Covid safety protocols. Thanks so much y’all!

I am so glad I stumbled upon Urban Animal!! The vet Dr. Granson is great at communicating and provides a personal touch that is much appreciated during the times of COVID (especially since you are not able to go into the hospital with your animal) . I used to take my standard poodle to Banfield and the difference is seriously night and day. The vets at Banfield would never spend much time with me, but Dr. Granson was patient with me and once she knew I was on a budget, she took great care to explain my dog's condition and the various treatment options which ended up saving me money. And most important, my dog is healthy and recovered quickly!

Recieved wonderful service. The staff was super nice, listened well, and took care of our cat Pinky right away. I feel that Pinky recieved the best care possible, and that i was valued as a customer.

They were not able to recognize even an otitis. We were told our young and healthy cat was dirty while he was actually suffering from an ear infection that has been finally treated in ten days only months later, when we got back to Italy. Also, they suggested to have a dental cleaning for about 500 hundred dollars, which luckily we decided not to do as we found out later it was not needed at all. Finally, they insisted on a food allergy as an explanation for our cat’s dermatitis, which was not because he should have had other symptoms. The good news is that now our cat is healthy and clean, and his hair is almost totally recovered. I am just surprised by the incompetence of this veterinary clinic and a little bit upset by all the money spent in vain.

The staff was very friendly. I was in and out in about an hour, expecting to be there for more time than that. Overall, great service for my baby, they took great care of her!

Would like to star by saying thank you to the staff. Everyone here is so nice, professional, and most of all they are amazing care givers. Staff has gone above and beyond for my ROCKY. We are so grateful to have found an amazing vet . Keep it up Urban Animal.

Felt like they were test happy, the more they test you bigger your bill is. Like they should have an idea, not just throw all you can think of at the animal. Came in for red skin left with a $500 bill? Won't be back. May be on on a Sunday but not for a regular checkup on a wed at 3pm

So we really liked this place after they did all they could for our dog following an attack whille at day care. Truly she is great in a crisis. Sadly, that crisis care has not translated to consistent every day service. For one, we are established patients. We recently got some foster kittens we discovered have ringworm and got them treated through a different vet. When our dog began to show signs as well, we called and were told to go elsewhere before we were even asked when we would like to get in. My husband went out as far as into next week after prodding reception to check for availability and were told “oh, no nothing. Wait. Maybe. No. Sorry. Nothing.” And then referred elsewhere again. Ok so if you don’t want to treat ringworm, just say that. However, last year, at a one-year checkup for our then-puppy who hadn’t been in since she was six months old, the vet told me my 9.8 pound, double coated dog was obese because she had gained 1.3 kg since her last appointment (at six months old) and because she couldn’t feel her spine. Again, double coated dog. The breed standard for this dog is 10-15 pounds for females and she was under the healthy minimum. Dogs are supposed to gain weight between 6 months and one year. That’s how aging works when you’re a baby. So 2 stars because really, great in a crisis but no more because I expect a vet to treat their patients and also understand that babies gain weight when they become adults.

I am so impressed with Urban Animal. I adopted a puppy in sept. After Many years without a pet. Everyone at Urban Animal has been wonderful with tips info vaccines ect. When it was time to have Coco spayed I did my research and I would not go anywhere else. She was treated so well and so was I. The thing is they also took care of minor issues I was not even aware of. The aftercare instructions were easy to follow. The written estimate was exactly as stated. No surprises. I know my Cocos health is foremost with Dr Granson.

If you’re a responsible dog owner (this is a very weighted statement), I wouldn’t recommend bringing your dog here.

Ty, Nicole and Dr. Granson were all incredibly helpful. I have a shelter rescue with bad anxiety, and they were understanding and worked with me and my dog. We had the best possible visit, and I'm so grateful that we found a great vet at Urban Animal Veterinary Hospital.

First off, let me start by stating I don’t know anyone who works here, I’m not an employee, I’m just someone who did some research and found this place that looked like it could be a fit for my two dogs, Oscar and Winston. …
