They were great when we lost our last 13 year old pomeranian late at night and wasn't sure what options we had. They made a ceramic memorial with his paw print on it for us and sent a hand signed card a couple weeks later. Very friendly staff

It started when a random cat jumped into my car at work. After tracking his chip's origins, we found this place! They tried tracking down his owners but found a dead end. So I adopted him instead! The office is so kind and offered me a year of free supplies and visits (which they do for all adoptions through them!). And they weren't lying. When I took him in for a routine appointment, they discovered he had mega-colon. They recommended that he stayed with them until he was better. What was one visit has turned into a month plus stay as his condition refused to improve for a while. But even over a month of food, bloodwork, x-rays, and medicine: all free! The office has called me every few days to keep me updated. They made time for me to visit him. They've been so nice, upfront, and caring about everything. I haven't worried about him the entire time (tho I miss him greatly) because I know that is being well taken care of and very loved. He isn't home yet but we're almost there!

My wife specifically told the clinic NOT to administer the lepto vaccine to our puppy due to the breed's (italian greyhound) heightened risk of complications. These instructions were included with a detailed letter from the breeder. The lepto vaccine was administered regardless and we didn't discover it until we checked the invoice and noticed multiple parvo vaccine charges on a bill already ludicrously overpriced. On top of this, we were charged an additional $5 for the use of a single bag to pick up after our pet. I don't understand how other people have positive experiences at this clinic. It's clear the main goal is to charge for every little service they can while double charging for others and ignoring specific instructions. We won't be returning, and we would caution others who care for their pets to consider alternatives in veterinary care.

I wanted to love this place, and I do like some aspects of it... but they absolutely do not deserve more service. I felt judged from the moment I walked in for having a pure bred puppy that I got from a breeder... and even though my breeder gave me every single record of the shots my puppy had gotten before I got him, the animal clinic didn't believe the records. I was pushed to give my puppy vaccines that are NOT core vaccines (ie Leptosporosis), and when I pushed back on it and said "No thank you, I'll think about it, but we're okay for now". They lied to me and gave my puppy "The exact same 5-way combo shot that your breeder gave him!" that included the one vaccine that I didn't want to give my puppy yet... without telling me. I also checked my receipt a couple weeks later, after paying $150 dollars for a general check up and two vaccines... to find out that they charged me for THREE vaccines, one of the vaccines when I called and asked why I was charged for it since it wasn't given to him.... I was told that it was a part of the DHLPP (combo) vaccine that my puppy was given. So instead of charging me for the two shots my dog was given, I was charged for three, even though two of the three were THE SAME EXACT SHOT. I also only found out about the lepto vaccine when I looked up what was contained in the combo vaccine given to my dog. They didn't tell me, and they gave it to him knowing i specifically requested for him to not have it yet. Not to mention that when I took my puppy out front to potty and went back in and asked for a poop bag because mine were at home... they charged me $4.00 for a "hazardous waste control fee".... for picking up after my own dog.... I will never come back here. The crazy prices, them lying to me about what they're giving my dog, and then charging me extra for picking up after him??? Absolutely absurd.

they are always very professional and nice.i have been using Green trails for 18 years and they have always been the best. My son is Veteranian but I'm unfortunate that his practice is in Dallas metroplex and I cannot take advantage of the family discount.

Brought rescued dog for first checkup because they were on list of “First free checkups” provided. First free checkup was not free ($70). Was told only within 72 hours is it free for them, which was not noted on list that free checkups were only within 72 hours. I had previously brought my dog to another clinic after 72 hours and they honored the first free checkup but were not very thorough due to regular vet being away. Regular vet was also not on staff that day. Bum deal, usually like to know that stuff is specially if I’m a new patient. Dog supposedly came back positive for giardia and hookworms and was told Shelters do not have a dewormer that cares for hookworm. (Shelter gave her Strongid, a medicine that treats hookworm.) weird claim. Not sure if it was just ineffective, but the test here was $60 to find that out. Fair enough. I realize giardia is a worry but had never remember having a test mentioned for this in the 15 years I’ve owned my own dogs but after $83 test They found giardia parasite eggs. Maybe vets aren’t too worried until they see signs of this but the test was positive and received $50 meds ($10 on chewy) for giardia and $33 dollar hookworm meds as well. ($9 on Amazon) Yeast in ear from a $72 cytology test and $55 ear meds (on chewy for $21) and $22 ear flush ($10 on chewy) resulted in a first time visit of $490. Also included $48 DHLPP booster shot. Although they were very helpful in explaining it, no vet ever really wants to recommend and ask if any is all this cost okay with you? Seems like a very pricey place in my experience. Lipoma/tumor removals also run $850 if you’re ever in the market to remove and test bumps. Probably will switch to something more reasonable.

We have been going here for probably 15 years. Very friendly staff and doctors. They can be a bit pricy, but the excellent care given to the pets is worth it to our family.

A bit on the higher price of things, but they seem to know what they're doing and bring a much more personal connection to the pets and the owners. Didn't try to pressure us into any add on services but did recommend various things and all the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Glad to find a place like this in the area.

We have been happy patrons of Dr. McGowan and the Green Trails team for over 16 years. Our dogs love these folks. Once when our dog escaped the backyard while we were out she took herself to Green Trails and barked to be let in so that she could wait inside for us to pick her up! No better testimony than that!

I have been taking my dog to see Dr. McGowan at Green Trails Animal Clinic for 11 years, & I've been taking my other pets before her there, too. Let me just say that Dr. McGowan & his team are AWESOME!!! They take great care of my dog whenever she's there, & today, I had an emergency situation with my dog, & they were very accommodating & helpful. I got all the help & information I needed from them today, & I couldn't be happier with their great customer service. I definitely recommend Green Trails Animal Clinic. It's a great place to take your pet! :)
