I have used J-Canine for both training and socialization for my puppy Bertie (a Lab/GSD cross). Martine the trainer has a unique understanding of the canine mind and quite honestly I think I have learned as much from her as Bertie has. Dog training is as much about training the handler as the dog. Yes, she can be direct but as we humans tend to anthropomorphize our dogs, a clear approach is needed to understand canine thinking - your relationship with your dog can only benefit from this. The facility is large and set in fields. They also offer "puppy socialization" so your pup gets the chance to enjoy supervised play with a wide range of dogs. The staff all plainly love the animals under their care. Reasonably priced and highly recommended!

They are AMAZING. We sign up for the two week training for our Doberman (Molly) but after we saw her work we extended it to the four week program. Well worth every dollar. Reasonably price. Our dog was very mouthy and would jump up on everyone, and nip at us and just needed the basic training. Martine stop all that with her excellent skills of training. I was so happy with the training that we received. “Molly was a new puppy “ We got to visit with our dog during the four weeks because we missed her so much. Martine made me feel very comfortable. She sent emails and post pictures and videos via social media. At the end of the program she walked us through everything and sent us videos to work with Molly when we got home. Not only to mention my Molly was featured in one of the training videos which made me a very proud “dog mom” Martine and the staff there are wonderful.

We love this business. We brought our australian shepherd here as a puppy to be trained, and we kennel her here whenever we are out of town. She loves the staff here and pulls at the leash when she sees her favorite people. Definitely recommend.

We've been boarding our dogs and cats with J-Canine for over 10 years and continue to be very happy with their service. They are very conscientious about administering medications to our pets with health issues and we've had more than a few. Highly recommend!

We can not say enough GREAT things about J Canine! Everything is wonderful from the staff, to the care, to the spa treatments our dogs receive! We can leave town not feeling guilty, because we know our girls are well taken care of!

We have used J-Canine several times over the last couple of years and are always accommodating. If you live in Southwest Houston-area, I would highly recommend reserving a spot for your pets.

This is the very best place for boarding your dog

If you live in the southwest part of the Houston area and are looking for excellent agility classes, J-Canine is the place to go. Classes range from foundations to competition classes. The focus first is on building a positive relationship with your dogs, then on learning how to teach the agility obstacles in a fun and safe way for your dog. From there you begin to work on short sequences and finally you can advance to competition classes when you and your partner are ready. Currently, both of my dogs, Doozie and Lulu (both Gordon Setters) are in a competition class with Renee King as the instructor. Renee is awesome! She makes training fun, tailors her teaching specifically to what you and your dog need, she has great patience and loves helping her students develop their skills. When we drive over the railroad tracks on our way to J-Canine, my girls start bouncing around in their crates, excited for another training day. That's the best recommendation yet!

If your pets are family and you want them treated as such, this is the place to board them. My dogs are always excited when we pull into J-Canine and love to see the front office staff and kennel techs each time I drop them off. The owner, Joni, is kind-hearted and has such a love for all animals. After dropping off, I always feel at peace knowing they are well taken care of. There are several different choices of kennels- from indoor lodging to luxury indoor/outdoor suites. They also have "doggie daycare" for the more social dog. My dogs always come home smelling great after a bath before I pick them up. I've also used J-Canine for obedience training for one of my rescue dogs. Martine was great- very patient, thorough and honest about my dogs limitations (he was once a street dog). My dog did the board and train for 2 weeks and improved greatly. Martine has trained 3 of my friends dogs as well and everyone has been very pleased. Anytime anyone asks for a recommendation for boarding and training, J-Canine is always #1.

Love J-Canine for boarding, daycare and training...and so do my dogs! It’s at the top of my list when neighbors ask for recommendations. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. I've been training agility dogs here for years and have learned so much about handling and dogs in general. Martine is great!

The agility trainer, Martine, is rude and harsh. I was hoping this would be a nice experience for my dog and me. The facility itself seems nice, but Martine's attitude and the way she treats adults is far from professional.

Tipsy, Blue and I have learned so much and had a great time working with the instructors at J-Canine. Renee King and Martine Kopka are the BEST. The dogs come home from being kenneled happy and healthy. Check them out.

I can't say enough positive things about this place. My wild dog is finally tamed. They took excellent care of him and communicated with me often via email and posted his picture on Facebook. I got a 2 hour take home class on picking him up …

This place is the best those far for our beloved pets. The entire staff is there to assist and answer questions about their facility.
