Hill Country Animal Hospital Helotes, Texas

Yesterday I found a dog wandering in my neighborhood. I brought him into Hill Country Animal Hospital at about 6:35 in the evening. They scanned the dog for a chip and found the owners of the dog. This was not a simple task, they had to make multiple phone calls (waiting on hold) and go through several sites to get the information needed. We were still there at 7:00 (closing time) and not once did they make me feel like it was an inconvenience. They were even willing to stay late to wait for the owner to show up to pick up the dog. Thank you to the ladies in the front office who helped to find Gunner's family.

I rescued a dog that had many health issues and they called me a neglectful dog owner. Mind you I had been taking my other dog to them for years and never once got a rude comment! I did what I was supposed to and got this puppy the treatment she needed she was abandoned on the side of the road and I was the bad pet owner for taking her to the vet to get treated. I do not recommend coming here and I most definitely will never be coming back!

Our experience with Hill Country Animal Hospital has been nothing short of phenomenal. For the past few years, our dogs have been taken care of by the doctors and staff at HCAH. We've been fortunate to share both the good time and hard decisions. The level of care, attention to detail, and compassion shown by everyone from the front desk, to the techs and doctors is amazing. While we unfortunately don't need their services currently due to our dog passing recently, we hope to return when the time is right.

Great experience. Everyone there was patient with me and my dog loved them. No trauma for vaccines and nail trimming.

I can’t say enough great things about Hill Country Animal Hospital. Dr. Doty and the Hill Country staff are the best! They do such a wonderful job making myself and my dogs feel comfortable and at ease at our appointments. Not to mention, the girls at the front are always smiling and so welcoming. I was apprehensive about finding a new vet when we moved to the area but I am SO happy we found Hill Country Animal Hospital.. they truly treat our dogs as if they were their own.

We absolutely love this vet office. We were apprehensive when we moved to SA because we loved our vet in Florida but this office is really great. They take excellent care of our little boy. Can't say enough good things about them.

I walked in with an unresponsive dog and they were on it! The staff was super quick and attentive and super nice. They took care of my fur baby Snoop and the prices were fair. I would highly recommend this vet.

I brought my puppy to get his final set of vaccinations for the year and he vomited twice on the way home. I was so concerned that I called the office and they were quick to have us come back to see the doctor! Luckily it just ended up being an upset tummy, but I was so impressed with how the staff and doctor handled the situation. I could tell they were busy but they still made sure my pup was seen as soon as possible! Many thanks to the incredible staff for all of their help and to his wonderful vet, Dr. Macias!!! One of the best places we’ve ever taken our pup! Always excellent service and you can tell they make sure your pet is taken care of.

Wow but just how rude! I called to make an appointment for my pups first birthday wellness visit and shots update. I politely asked if theybare taking new patients and I got a short attitude ridden "no ma'am"....then silence. If that's the first line of welcome then I want my pup as far away from red flags like that as possible. Good luck!

Not enough words to describe the care and experience their team provides for you and your furry family. I have taken 2 of my pets here so far and while one has been recovering well with medicine and is doing well, we ran a slew of tests that gave us an unfortunate outcome and had to put her down. The team was extremely caring and communication through the whole process of care and medicine was very clear. As long as I live here they will be caring for my other 4 animals.

Drove a friend over to this location and they are very polite and courteous.

Very friendly and thorough!! Prices are VERY reasonable as well! Highly recommend! I use Chewy.com for my pet meds and HCAH was super responsive and got the meds approved for me the same day!

We love the providers at Hill Country!! They know and remember our pets and make sure our visits are as efficient and thorough. They also make sure to notate any issues we've had in the past (i.e. anxiety, difficult exams, etc) so that when we made an appt to come in, they know to offer pre-visit meds.

They take great care of my cats when my cats need to visit the vet. Due to covid I can't go in with them but they call while with them and honestly my cats are always so grouchy to go to the vet just getting them in the carrier is tricky, so not being in the room was just fine. The cats don't like going but they take great care of them and always make sure you know how much you'll need to pay before they do anything (so everyone is on the same page.) Great place!!

My wife and I have been taking our Goldendoodle to this vet for the past five years. Very professional, and they have handled COVID restrictions really well also.

Vary helpful staff my 6 month old pup got parvo. I took her to a different vet in San Antonio first after a day out of the visit she still wouldn't drink water. Hill country vet was the only place local that would help her other than leaving her for a week. I believe they had a fair price as well.

I used to really like this vet., but it seems their focus in now on up sells instead of caring for your pet.

I've taken my dog Boomer there a time before and they were so sweet with him. As an aging Lhasa Apso, Boomer was not very friendly and could be aggressive most of the time. So to have a vet that was understanding and patient was awesome. Unfortunately, Boomer had to be put to sleep. They allowed us all to come and say goodbye to Boomer with treats and love. Then when it was time, they were caring and sweet and gave us as much time as we needed to hold him and gain closure. They never made us feel rushed. Here we are a couple of weeks later and we received one of the sweetest Sympathy cards signed by everyone. It wasn't pre-filled out or have printed signatures. It was personal and meant the world to my family to receive it. Highly recommend this office and we will be back when we welcome a new pet into our home. Thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff for your sensitivity and caring manner during that difficult day.

Got my dog in 1 hour before closing after she had bad reaction to vacanations not given there, emergency vet on 1604 not taking new patients. called next day to check on her and addeded steriod due to hives not being gone and july 4th is tomorrow and they are closed. I'll be changing to Hill County
