My dog was ill and my regular vet, Altas Palmas, would not see him because we didn't have an appointment. When I called Pet Care, they worked us in for the next day and gave my dig excellent care.

I went in to euthanize my dog????, they were very caring and gentle with him during the procedure. I appreciate the time they allowed me with before and after.

I brought three kittens in to be spayed (1) and neutered (2). I paid the extra $40 for the male kitten (Tux) to be examined by the doctor because I felt a hernia and felt it was in the best interest of my pet to have that corrected while already being sedated for neutering. Later that afternoon when I picked up my pets I was told the doctor did not feel the hernia. I requested the cat to be seen by one of the veterinary techs who immediately felt the hernia that the doctor missed. The following week I contacted the office about a refund for the $40 since I made it clear when I dropped off the cat (Tux) that I was paying that additional examination fee because the cat had a hernia. The doctor didn’t find it and no additional surgery was performed. I think it was only fair to refund the examination fee because the sole purpose of the exam was not addressed. I was told that not only would I not be refunded the $40 but I could pick up the paperwork on all three kittens because they didn’t want my business. Today I went by in person to pick up their paperwork and to request the refund of the $40 because it was the right thing for them to do. My husband and I were asked to wait outside their office while they printed up my pets records. In summary, I still am in shock they asked us to pick up the paperwork and that they would not be seeing our animals. I thought we found a new vet.

Make sure you get the price in writing! I called them and asked how much to get my female Bulldog spayed...the girl quoted me 121.95...I was told to give a 30 dollar deposit that day which I gladly did. A week later my wife drops off our dog to get the procedure and they charged her 279.00!?! When I called to inquire about the mark up, the girl (I believe her name is Kelly) didn't even apologize, she told me that maybe when I called about getting the procedure that they thought she was a male dog and that initial price is what it costs for a male dog. Uh hello...I asked how much to get my dog SPAYED not neutered! She also told me that it goes by weight of the dog..that it costs more for large breeds. They never mentioned any of that! So BEWARE of the bait and switch!!

Extremely disappointed the way the entire staff from front office to the tech to the vet handled our pets euthanization. They were borderline cruel. I would never take a pet there again.

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET HERE!!! I came to bring my dog to the vet because he needed stitches and I had to leave him here from 9am-4pm and I thought everything went fine until I took my fur baby walking and all of a sudden he is frantically afraid of men! Any men that would walk by us he would freak out and try to run away; he would NEVER do this , he normally would go up to people to try and meet them but ever since I brought him here he has been terrified of men. I can only imagine what they were doing to my dog to make him this afraid of men just walking past. DO NOT leave your pet here, it is a terrible feeling seeing your dog being afraid of someone just passing by when they used to be extremely friendly.

You're told one price and then when you get the procedure done and go to pay they want to nickel and dime you for everything and throw in hidden fees. Would not recommend!

Did a great job .The only thing they do that I don't like is that they put 3 to 4 coats of Shalak and it bubbles up real thick..

I had a scheduled appointment at 7:30 am to get my cat neutered, 6 hours later my cat was still in his cage, they had not even looked at him. Worst place to take your pets.

Very unprofessional! I don't even know how people come to this clinic. The staff is very rude.

My dog needed a hysterectomy, the vet did not want to preform this surgery and preferred to put her down!!! I took her to a vet highly recommended in Matamoros, my experience, the doctors don't beat around the bush, they get this done and so with my dog too ... Doctors here look at there bottom line of $$$$ leave a person hanging in debt and u home to come back again to give u something else that isn't doing the job!

I like pet care gave them a try and the receptionist are so rude and lazy . People call because we have questions about our pets not because we want to bother them and that's how they make it seemed. If they want to keep there business they need to hire someone that is compassionate and caring not someone that is waiting till its 5pm to clock out.
