I am rating it five stars because it wouldn't be fair to lower my rating based off of one bad experience. Ive been taking my dog there for years and have never had an unpleasant interaction until today. I love Arroyo Veterinary hospital and the staff(especially Mando)which has always been nice. Dr. Mitchell is the best! Helpful, kind, and professional. However, the front desk/receptionist Abigails tone came off as very sarcastic and unprofessional which I did not appreciate. Hopefully, her demeanor is not the same with other customers.

I had appointment Monday at 9 am I drive 35 minutes to get there and for them to tell me sorry doctor did come in come back tomorrow at 8am.So i drive again today and for my luck they cancel my appointment cause doctor was not feeling well ok I get it she is sick but what happen when I get there late I get charge a walk in fee is that fare for me after I drive 35 one way and 35 mins back for 2 days in a row and for them not to call me or text me . so I told the lady can I get some type of compensation she tells me no that's how we operate here i was like but when I'm late right away you charge me extra fee well that's what the doctor wants for us to do .So I tell her you don't value me as a customer I guess they don't appreciate my business

The time that only matters for this clinic is theirs, in order to set up an appointment you're asked to pay a certain amount so they can be sure you arrive, but they're free to cancel your appointment . The client's time matters too. I called the receptionist there was a huge traffic jam, When I finally arrived to my dog's appointment 15 minutes late They say I have to pay an extra charge because I arrived 20 minutes late, After 40 minutes waiting outside I had to leave. I do not recommend this clinic, not a good costumer service. I'll take my dog somewhere else. BY THE WAY I HAD an appointment for the 21th and you changed it one day before FOR THE 22TH, thats not fair too, I HAD to change a lot my activities so I could be there, and since I paid 25 usd in order to get that appointment I should be considered a client too...my time matters too.

My poor fur baby is having diarrhea for a couple days so I said it’s time to take him to the vets, it had not stopped so I was giving it the benefit of the doubt. I call them on Thursday to ask if they are taking walkins and they said no but we are tomorrow (Friday). Friday comes and I call them to make sure they are taking walkins and of course “No the doctor is leaving” mind you its barley 12pm, if they told me the day before “Just make sure you get here before 12” then that would have been perfect but thanks for not letting me know. Will be taking my business elsewhere.

Update: I will say that Dr. Mitchell is a very professional individual. She treated us with respect even after reading my initial review of her office. She is currently getting my pup on the road to recovery. The original review was based on poor communication between staff. The vet was there and was waiting for us to arrive so that she could assess the situation and remedy it as needed. The only recommendation I can give is for there to be more communication between staff so that issues like these don't happen in the future. Original: My dog has a laceration and a broken paw. Called and was told the vet would see him right away. So we make the drive and now they say we have to wait with our pet in our vehicle until the vet arrives. To top it off they can't say when he will arrive. Thanks a lot for wasting our time Abbigale.

I chose Arroyo Veterinary Hospital (AVH) to care for my 17 year old pet. They had the upmost respect for my dog and I during her treatment. When I had to make the decision to humanely end my pets life AVH was there to help me. I will be returning to AVH for more care should I need it. The doctor and vet technicians are very kind and professional.

They are wonderful. They are not my personal vet. My personal vet is wonderful too and I wouldn't change. These guys do outstanding work with a rescue I volunteer for. I have nothing but, praise for them and if my vet were to close I would call this vet as a back up. They are top notch.

The staff was friendly and prompt. I was given the option of using curbside or going inside. I opted for curbside because my pup only needed her vaccines and was not sick. It was much more affordable than other vets I have been to and I'm glad I went back to Arroyo.

Best vets ever! Both doctors are very knowledgeable and want to educate clients on their pets’ health. Professional and super compassionate for all pets. The technicians are super friendly and knowledgeable as well and the receptionists are fantastic. Highly recommend.

During covid-19. Was told I had to stay outside because I was a minor. Don't understand why. Was left outside alone for more than an hour by myself.

I brought my cat in September for flea medicine. The covid restrictions were already in place and so I didn't get to be inside with my cat. It was my 1st time there so I didn't know their process. I would have liked to meet the person checking on my kitty, but I understand why it had to be that way. The process was: show up, call, they come out to pick up kitty, bring back, tell you what's going on etc, pay, and away you go. The worst part is waiting outside when its so hot and l did leave the car running for the AC for about 30 minutes. Not ideal, but worth it for kitty. The 2nd time I went, I just needed more flea medicine. I called ahead and this helped because they get it ready for pick up. Drove in about 2 days later and I parked, called in, they came out with the medicine, I paid, didn't need a receipt and drove away. The entire process took less than 5 minutes. It was Very fast and the person was very personable. I think I'll keep bringing kitty here.

Due to covid you can no longer go with your pet to see exam. My pet cannot talk so some things might be missed the feed back from the helpers when they bring your pet back is second hand information and may not be accurate as to what the doctor said But the system works because my pet is doing better Maybe a zoom camera to the parking lot might help Or an old fashioned face to face visit there you can answer for your pet
