Horrible clinic. They do not care about your animal and are only concerned with getting thousands up front before performing life saving emergency care. Then don’t let you see your dog at all during or after or during the pistol period of days and then just call and say your dog died. Crazy horrible and they should be ashamed of themselves.

They're always very professional and caring. The wait can be challenging, but it comes with piece of mind that they are thorough. Pricing at any one of these places is insane, but they know we love our animals. I would highly recommend MedVet Grapevine.

Inconsistent service overall. Forget typ follow up as promised. Very expensive given the lack of follow up and follow through. Was better when they first started. Vets are clearly overwhelmed by sheer volume, both vet tech & vets are struggling keeping up with information sharing & follow up. Exemplary service provided by front office Chris, kudos for being organized, very polite & at same time kind. Hats off to Betty, internal medicine vet tech: warm, thoughtful, kind & efficient.

Dr. Encarnacion only recommenced multiple very expensive tests, costing over$2500.00. He was argumentative and ugly when I declined testing. He refused to give any possible differential diagnosis or make any recommendations. I felt he was there only to make money. By the way, my dog is a 9 year old large breed dog. Even human doctors , should look at the most likely diagnosis and then proceed one test at a time. Very poor vet!

The staff was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The doctor kept us informed every step of the way and never left us guessing and worrying. She was able to put me at ease when I brought my 3 month old puppy in with "puppy strangles" which sounded terrifying. It was a wonderful experience. She even kept us informed as to how much things were going to cost and always checked with us before performing any procedures. If any of my animals need an emergency vet again I will be taking them here.

I recently had my dog seen by MedVet in Grapevine. I liked Dr. E. and their service. What I did not like was the price they charged me for Purina ProPlan Fortiflora. Their price was $48 which was 84% more than the same product online ($26). I called them and complained about their price being too high. They said their price was set by corporate office and they would have to contact corporate to request a discount. Then, they called me back saying they could not do anything. And they said that the price is higher because of the overhead of technician and blah-blah .... But come'on 84% (almost double) the price of market is WAY too much. To me that was not fair; especially, considering that I was an established customer and had spent over $300 in a recent appointment. Please, if possible, do NOT fill prescriptions from this location prior to checking online first.

I have to say PLEASE DO NOT USE DR. FIELDS EVER !!!!! SHE AND HER STAFF ARE HORRIBLE. She should NOT be practicing. Our cat Garfield was brought into emergency with heart failure . This lovely doctor took 4 days to see him- we brought him home and his lungs became filled at 9:30 am at which time I called the office - her receptionist who is BEYONd NASTY was called explaining Garfield was having trouble breathing -she told me too BAD- when I got mad and finally yelled she still would not get Dr. Fields on the phone - Needless to say we took Garfield to Main Street Vet at 6PM after over 15 calls to the office and Dr. Brashear saved our cat - NOT Dr. FIelds - WORST WORST WORST DOCtor ever and should not be practicing . We tried to give her one more chance with Furball - After all we spent over 6k with her with Garfield - 2 appointments and her staff found every reason NOT to see our Furball Garfileds biological Son who had the 50% chance of carrying the Cardiomyopathy disease - which he did - Furball ended up DEAD from sudden cardiac death - those of you who have a cat and know how this disease goes in cats know - Dr. Field should have seen him- Dr. Fields and her OFFICE are 100% at fault - I will be reporting them to the vet society - she should NOT be practicing in this manner - it broke my heart and my Sons heart when Furbie suddenly dropped dead- I had just had heart surgery and Dr. Fields was aware of all of this . Dr. Fields and that whole staff was negligent and very rude- Please do not go there- as Dr. Fields and her lousy staff I WILL be following up with the Vet board and continue to post my reviews as to the fact - We should have not Furbie like this nor should Garfield have been made to suffer as Fields office did - she is horrible

Dr. Melmed is truly the best specialty vet. She took such great care of my dog, Lady, and walked us through the final decision process with grace and compassion. She is the best at what she does, and is absolutely in her lane of life. I give my highest recommendation- she is phenomenal.

Unfortunately, I was referred to this clinic by my dog’s veterinarian. Their lack of professional courtesy, sub-par care, and trauma that my dog is left with every time she comes is the reason for this poor review. Every time we see the specialist, it costs $700-1200. There are plenty of specialists in the DFW area that come with far superior reviews. I encourage people to shop around. I asked for her medical charts and the front desk gave a letter, no charts for the costly procedures that she’s received. Our pets deserve the best care and this is not the place for it.

Dr. Melmed and the staff at MedVet Grapevine deserve 10 stars! Dr. Melmed took the time on a Saturday - her day off, to consult with Dr. Timmerman (from MedVet Uptown) regarding my little dog Madison's elevated white blood cell count. After the consult Dr. Melmed felt that Madison needed a diagnostic ultrasound which Dr. Melmed performed on Monday - even though her schedule was already packed with other patients. The fact that Dr. Melmed and the staff went above and beyond their already hectic work schedule for my little dog is a gesture I will never forget. As a result, Madison is doing better than ever! THANK YOU Dr. Melmed, Dr. Timmerman & the staff at MedVet Grapevine & MedVet Uptown!

After Dr. Encarnacion performed an ultrasound on our pup, gave us the bad news and thought we were transferring our dog to him for additional $2500 - $2700 worth of care, he spent at least an hour with us discussing diagnostic treatments and refusing to give us any kind of prognosis. When we decided that our poor pup should not be used as a pin cushion and did not want him to suffer unnecessarily for more diagnostics to tell us what we already knew was inevitable, he refused to complete the sign off and tell us why he had recommended reducing dosage of a med our pup was already on. Now, our regular vet is left guessing what side effects might there be by giving him pain killers. He refuses to speak to her as well. On the phone he sounded generally concerned for our pup and us, but his motivation was clearly to sell us additional and expensive services without regard for the health of our pup. Otherwise, he would at least answer that one simple question instead of refusing to speak with us or our vet and complaining that he didn't have a proper consult with us, which is purely money driven. Our advice - go somewhere else.

From the front desk ladies to the techs and vets..... this place is awesome! They took such amazing care of my very sick chihuahua. It was an emotional time for myself and my family and they were so amazing. Dr. Melmed is beyond amazing. If any friends of mine need an internist I ALWAYS send them to her! Thank you all for being awesome and taking such good care of our pup and us!!

Dr. Melmed is amazing! Having 4 senior giants we were bound to need a specialist and some point and I am so glad my primary vet referred us here. At one point I was out of town and had TWO of my seniors there. I was a complete mess, but Dr Melmed kept me up to date on what was going on. One of my pups was so sick and I was sure I was coming home to put him down. She did everything for him that she could and he pulled through after 5 days there. A year later he is still doing great, we know what drugs he can't have and we now avoid those. I always call her before introducing a new drug and she is always willing to help. Once again I was out of town this week and one of our seniors was "off" a trip to the ER and much relief when I found out Dr Melmed was there. She took care of her and just knowing she was there took a lot of stress off me. She lets me know when I should worry and when I should not. I am so grateful to her and her staff, especially this week when I could not be there. When dealing with a great specialist you have to be patient, you might not always get a call right when you are expecting it, an emergency might have come up, but know she will call even after hours with an update. I know if it was serious she would call. I also would rather her tend to an emergency than worry about giving me an update, because it could very easily be my dog having an emergency and you beat your life I would rather her focus on the emergency than be making follow-up calls.

Brought my very sick pup into VMS. Dr. Pickens was absolutely wonderful (as was all the staff). Sadly they could not help my pup (Australian Shepard of 12 yrs) as he had an inoperable liver tumor and had to be put down. Dr. Pickens performed a Ultrasound to determine this and could have done other tests that would have just been a bigger stress on my beloved friend and charged us much more money. But she didn't as it would not have made sense to go any further. I wanted to write this review to counter some of the other reviews that said VMS is in it only for the money. I can attest they are not. Thank you Dr. Pickens and staff at VMS for being honest and compassionate with my friend. And thank you for your loving way you handled my friends peaceful ending. If and when I have another friend I will be coming to you all should the need arise (which I hope it never does).

Dr. Culwell and her staff are remarkable. Our Dog Crash was diagnosed with hypertension and was having breathing issues. She was able to diagnose the real problem of Pulmonary hypertension and treat him and gave us several more months with our Dachshund and helped us when the time came to say goodbye. The knowledge and compassion that Dr. Culwell and her staff provide are stellar! We take our other dachshund to her so we can make sure we stay on top of anything that might develop as he ages,. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this practice!

Beware! If you truly care about your pet do not go to these supposed "specialists". You are better off going to a regular veterinarian who has taken pride in their education. Do your research and you can find much more qualified veterinarians in the area. Please don't make the same mistake as I did taking my cat here. Their care is substandard and their follow-up in nonexistent, even with me calling them for aftercare help. The only thing they are good at is grabbing your purse. I found a regular veterinarian who not only helped my beloved cat, but they did it with respect and quality care after the first appointment. If I could rate them zero stars I would.

I feel compelled to share the absolutely amazing experience my husband and I had at VMS. Our Golden Bella was diagnosed with cancer just under 1 1/2 years ago when she was 8. To put it mildly, we were devastated. Our primary vet suggested that if we wanted to try and treat the cancer, we might be able to extend her life by another 6 months. Bella was a very important part of our family, and while we knew treating her for cancer might get expensive, we decided we would move forward with treatment as long as her quality of life remained good. That’s when Dr. Melmed and her staff at VMS, came into the picture. Dr. Melmed was amazing - she was absolutely wonderful with Bella and made us feel comfortable with all the hard decisions we had to make over the course of her treatment. It felt so comforting to know that Dr. Melmed understood our desire to treat her aggressively, but also understood how important her quality of life was to us. When it came down to the excruciating decision to stop treatment, Dr. Melmed was amazing at helping us come to this difficult decision and supported us every step of the way. We took Bella home and kept her comfortable. We were so impressed with how Dr. Melmed called and checked on Bella (and us) so often. Even over the weekend. Bella finally lost her battle with cancer after 14 months, but we are so grateful to VMS and feel so blessed to have had the extra time with her. I hope no one ever has to go through the pain of losing a family member like this, but if you do, I hope you will have a great group of caring individuals like those at VMS by your side. It made all the difference. Thank you VMS from the bottom of our hearts!

Dr. Melmed did a wonderful job taking care of my Lab recently. She was extremely thorough in diagnosing her condition and treating her. She also did an excellent job explaining her treatment plan and concerns to me. I would highly recommend VMS to those looking for quality care and kind treatment.

Dr. Melmed is phenomenal! She goes above and beyond in providing veterinary care as well as her staff. Our vet, Dr. Harvey, referred us to her and, she tenaciously kept with it until she found a diagnosis. I am happy to say our furry family member is now on the road to recovery and doing so much better! I would happily recommend Veterinary Medicine Specialists to anyone looking for help or answers for the well being of your pet.

This poor excuse for a "Veterinarian specialist" clinic is an absolute disgrace! They could 'care' less about your pet. But they sure do 'care' when they want their cash register to ding. Trust this review. I have been to dozens of veterinarians in my time and have NEVER had the level is dishonesty and lack of common professionalism as I experienced here. Dr. Melmed, in particular, is the worst. Literally half of our poor excuse for an "exam" (which we made well over a week in advance) was done in the waiting lobby. Cold hearted and non caring-check. Failed to give me a follow up phone call as she promised-check. Would not provide me an email to a very simple question with "after care"-check. If you care about your pet do not go here. There are plenty of other well qualified veterinarians in the area that will do a far better job. If I could give them a half-star I would. And I never give a bad review unless it is justified.

If you care for your animal at all, DO NOT GO HERE! The service from every staff member is shockingly detached and hateful. I have never written any review of any kind but desperately feel the need to warn as many people as possible to stay away from these incompetent "people." I have never seen anyone claim to be a professional act in such classless, heartless manner. To be plain these people are absolute monsters. I spent over 2000 dollars to be ignored and receive nonexistent care for my dog. The vet couldn't even be bothered to talk to me on the phone unless I paid more , 125 dollars to be exact. I was shocked that Dr Erika Pickens could not take 5 min to talk to me on the phone about life and death concerns over my pet. I have never met anyone in 40 years that acted this horrible. Please, for the sake of yourself and your pet go anywhere else.
