Over the year we have use Alvin- Friendswood veterinary clinic and they have always taken care of our dog and been so caring, this Christmas we had to put our sweet girl down. And they took such good care of not only her but us. Hardest day of our dog parent life! They were kind and compassionate and professional. Thank you!

Dr. Pickle is great! I have to come here often because one of my cats, Gertrude, has feline herpes which has no cure just management of symptoms. Gertie likes coming here so much that she just strolls into the carrier when I put it on the floor. If that isn't a testament for great care, I don't know what else is!

I drive over an hour to get to Alvin Friendswood Vet. Clinic because it is the only place I will take my 14 year old doberman. Her age is a testament to the quality and care of the staff here.

I have been taking Ella to Dr. Pickle since I've had her. Dr. Pickle and her wonderful staff treat Ella & I like family. They great her enthusiastically and treat her lovingly. I couldn't ask for more.

As much as I dislike leaving bad reviews - I felt this was worth sharing. I took my dog to Alvin-Friendswood vet for a heartworm test. During my appointment, we established they didn't carry my dog's heartworm medicine so I said I could just order from 1-800 Pet Meds. They wrote me a script, I went online, ordered, paid and received an email from 1-800 Pet Meds saying they couldn't reach my vet and they asked for the vet to contact them so they could process the order (1-800 Pet Meds requires verification from the vet to issue the meds). I called the vet and asked them if they could call 1-800 Pet Meds so I could get my dog's HW meds. I was told "We do not communicate with 1-800 Pet Meds. You will have to mail the prescription to them". I explained my dog was already out of medication and I didn't want to wait for it to be mailed and asked if they would mind making the phone call just this once. The receptionist proceeded to tell me that one time 1-800 Pet Meds issued a prescription for Valium after the doctor said "no" and she could have lost her license so they won't work with them. While I understand their personal issue with 1-800 Pet Meds - I was simply asking for some help to get my dog's medication and if they could make an exception to their rule this once since I already paid. She declined. I feel like this was very poor customer service. I paid for an office visit and heart worm test, they don't carry the medicine and then they refuse to make a simple phone call to service their customers. Not to mention, my office visit to get her HW test and shots took an hour and a half. I only saw one other person at the vet and I only spoke to the vet for less than a minute about my dog. Initially wasn't thrilled as I don't think a regular appointment should take an hour and a half. I definitely won't be back.

I had a dog that had a major change in movement over night Thursday into Friday and I was out of town. Messaged the clinic Friday evening to see about getting in. Dr Pickle messaged back stating they weren't going to be in that Saturday but gave me 4 other local choices she trusted and the one I went to was great. Most impressive part was that Dr Pickle personally pulled up our records and made them available electronically in case the other vet needed them. Great attention to detail and, more so, concern for her customers instead of for protecting her client base by not sharing with other clinics. Very impressive and exactly what customer service used to be all about... taking care of people even if that means sending them to a competitor. You have a customer for life for sure! We started seeing Dr Pickle after one of our dogs developed a growth on his chest. Our other vet would not do anything about it. Dr. Pickle and her staff removed it with no problems. We've continued taking our dogs to her since. They are so helpful, and truly have the pets best interest at heart.

Terrible veterinarian. The don't care about your animals and they don't care about you either. Poorly ran establishment. I will never go back and never recommend this dump.

I want to like this place. Mainly because I rescued a pup and the rescue group I am working with introduced me to them. I had an appointment to recheck if she was heartworm positive after their treatment. After I checked in, they didn’t say a word to me. I waited for 30 mins- patiently. Even when the unfriendly lady came out to get my pup, I had to ask her if she needed me to come with her or not. As she took her in, I asked if they could look at her ear bc she seems as though she may have an infection. Since she’s a rescue, it’s hard for me to get my hands on her ear without her freaking out. The lady at reception said hat they can’t because they’re completely booked. I told her I understand, but if they can just check really quickly, I can schedule an appt to bring her back in for it. She said no again, stating that she was here only for a heartworm appt. I brought my cat here a couple of weeks ago and had just booked an appt to recheck next week, before all this happeneed. The unfriendly lady brought her back, again, not saying another word. I waited for another 10 mins to be told that I’m good to go and that my results will be called over to the rescue group. Needless to say, I canceled my cats appt before I left. Never going to a place where they don’t give two sh*ts about my furbabies, bc they’re my kids. And smile a little, you rude people.

I've had many vets over the past 4.5 decades, but Dr Susan Pickle and her staff are beyond a doubt, the most caring and knowledgeable that I've ever dealt with. Our furbabies deserve nothing but the best, and AFVC delivers.

I have been going to Alvin Friendswood Vet clinic for many years now. I love all the staff there and I know they love my pets as if they were a part of their own family. Dr Pickle is very thorough and compassionate about her work, Ashley is extremely knowledgeable and very caring, Vicki is always helpful and has a warm smile to greet me with at each visit. They are all also are involved in rescue work and offer low cost clinics once a year. I recommend them to everyone I know and couldn't imagine anywhere else to take my Mindy to get such great care.
