Dr. Metzger is awesome!!! He spent alot of time with me and my puppy. I'm a first time mom to a puppy so I had alot of questions!!! And dr was so patient and friendly!!!!

The clinic personnel and Dr Metzger were super responsive when we had a larger dog bite our Maltese puppies while we were vacationing in the area. They allowed us to come in just before they closed on a holiday weekend and did an exam, cleaned and treated multiple wounds. We went home with medications and directions for care until we could get into our home vet. We are very grateful for them taking such care of our Gracie!

Spent the weekend in Fredericksburg and they took great care of our dog. Very close to town so it was easy to drop her off and they have pickup hours on Sunday.

My son and I took his new 6 week old Lab mix puppy to get his shots and a check up. Dr Metzger was so friendly, calm, knowledgeable, and had a great bedside manner with “Boozer .” Boozer didn’t even feel the shot and even got a free toy - wagging his tail pretty much the entire time. His nurse (I’m sorry I didn’t get her name) was so sweet letting Boozer kiss her lots and was super friendly. We got in the same day - receptionist was friendly and efficient too. No wait time. Everything was very clean. Thanks guys at Compassionate Care! We’ll be back!

Just like the name says, compassionate care.

They are great with my dog! Wish everything could go back to normal I'd like to go inside for his check ups to ask questions and be involved. Even though they do a great job at doing that it's just different.

Very good, gave me different options besides antibiotics & steroids for my dogs allergies like the first vet I took him too & they didn't work. They gave him an injection for allergies & it worked awesome! Very kind & knowledgeable! Would highly recommend.

I Don't know if it's possible to say enough wonderful things about this vet and the staff. The staff is so friendly no matter how many questions I ask. The vet is a handsome friendly man. I bring him a kitten and he brings it out of a cage yelling. A second or two in his arms and the kitten is pure putty of a purring happiness. The whole staff is just knowledgeable and nice beyond compare. And on top of the staff and vet you can not beat the prices. I truly feel they are there for your fur friend and you and not to make money.

We have been taking our dogs to Compassionate Care for 16 years. Our pets have always received excellent care with kindness and compassion. Dr. Fritz is not only aware of our dog's needs but is also aware of our needs regarding the care of our "canine family member." Recently, our daughter and her pets were visiting and one of the dogs got injured. It was Saturday morning at 11:30 am. Since Compassionate Care Clinic closes at 12:00, I called immediately and was told to come to the office. Dr. Fritz carefully cared for "Bobby" and while receiving staples, little Bobbie didn't make a sound. Then, though past closing time, Dr. Fritz brought Bobbie to us and discussed care, medications and options with us. We truly trust and recommend Compassionate Care Veterinary Clinic/Hospital.

Love them all. They all know what there doing. Treat all animals respectfully. Dr Metzgar is my hero. Great place to take your pet for all its needs.

Very good veterinarian. You can tell she loves her job. Caring and compassionate.

Told us they would spay our dog who might be pregnant for $150 but wanted to pre consult to check her out. The pre consult cost us $250. Needless to say we will not be having her spayed there. Had no idea it would be that much and they never even told us. Just assumed we would pay it which we did but they lost a new customer. Feel really taken advantage of. Really wishing no stars was an option.

My experiences here are great! I recently ran across a 9 month old female pit mix that had been dumped out close to my place. She was 22 pounds and on death's door. She had a badly infected bite on front leg and wasn't getting around well. I didn't have much hope....but had already accepted her into my life. Dr. Fritz quickly diagnosed her and got her on meds...she is now 42 pounds after 6 weeks and has pretty much gotten over her (obviously) traumatic beginning...

VOM - Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation - Dr Fritz is the only vet who does this therapy/protocol for MILES. I am actually from Austin and drive out twice a month for this VOM therapy for my boy who benefits from it when NOTHING ELSE will help. Dr Fritz is awesome and allows me to watch the procedure and ask questions. Carol and Carmen are invaluable techs who honestly just couldn't be nicer people. It is a long drive but the staff, doctor, and treatment make every part of the one hundred mile, two hour drive worth it! This therapy has allowed quality of life and comfort for my boy who has hind leg and spine issues. You guys are great and thank you for everything!
