I took my pet rat here because she had a ruptured eye. All of the staff there were nice, and sweet BESIDES the veterinarian himself. Dr Verwers. As soon as he walked into the room, he immediately judged me and my sister for wearing masks. Continuing to pester us about them for a solid five minutes until he finally looked at my rat. He picked her up and held her for maybe 30 seconds. And then very roughly throwing her back into her cage. He was incredibly rough and didn’t seem to care about how he was handling her. He then went on to tell us that her eye was likely ruptured and dead, and the best option would be to remove the eye. After we asked how much that would cost, which was expensive. (as expected) Then he told us “Well the cheapest option would be to euthanize the thing.” Which to me is absolutely disrespectful, and very rude. He then went to suggest that he could sew her two eyelids shut with the DEAD eyeball inside of it still to hope it heals. This is not smart at all?? Sewing a dead eyeball inside, and leaving it there just hoping it would magically heal would’ve lead to a very bad infection that would have killed her. Over all, he was extremely rude and disrespectful. He barely seemed to even care about the well being of my rat. He just tossed her around, and was done. Spoke extremely rudely to me and my sister, judging us for our choices. Asking very personal questions that is NONE of his business. I do not recommend this vet whatsoever. Dr. Verwers couldn’t possibly be more rude, disrespectful and unprofessional as a veterinarian.

I LOVE THIS VET!! I keep exotics and this is the only vet I will ever take my babies to. The staff is very professional and sweet and the Vet is highly knowledgeable about any of my animals I bring in. They have always treated us with love and care. I highly recommend them to anyone who keeps exotics.

They advertise they provide care for rabbits on their web page and social media pages, but receptionist said they do NOT offer any treatments for rabbits. Not sure when they'll update their sites, but if you have a rabbit, you may want to go elsewhere.

I arrived about 15 minutes early to my appointment and was quickly checked in. I waited for my turn and when I was seen, the technicians were very quick, friendly, and accurate! I had come for a general check up on a new kitty I brought home earlier this month. I thought he was just teething, but it turns out he also had something else. The vets were quick to consult me, make decisions, and follow through. We were in and out within an hour and a half; he's home and feeling much better!! Wish Gomez a speedy recovery!!

It’s hard to find a good veterinarian for rabbits. Dr. Verwers was great with my bunny, Houdini. He is very knowledgeable. Staff was great also. Very happy I found this place.

I brought in a pug puppy that I had purchased two days prior with severe diarrhea and pale gums. Dr. Verwers barley looked at my dog and said “oh it’s probably just hookworms.” Gave her some dewormer and sent me on my way. The next day my puppy couldn’t walk, was breathing heavy, and had a runny nose. I promptly brought her in again to be looked at. Tori Cooper, the vet tech took one look at her and decided to run blood tests, which should have been done the DAY BEFORE. Turns out my puppy was severely anemic and needed an emergency blood transfusion. Tori either assumed I didn’t have the money or that I didn’t care enough to go ahead with the transfusion because she kept giving me alternatives that would be “cheaper” for me. She also asked what my “cap” would be on treatment. I don’t put a “cap” on treating my kids, or my animals. Whatever it takes to get this animal better. I feel as tho I was stereotyped because I’m heavily tattooed. We went ahead and did the transfusion and my puppy showed progress over the next few days, but then rapidly declined again. Tori said this was “normal” as after blood transfusions, dogs will feel great and then go through a “dip” and start feeling bad again before they fully recover. I did hours of my own research and reading and NOWHERE does it say that. I even joined puppy forums to get insight, and nobody ever heard of the “dip.” I brought her back in, and after more tests, both these jokers concluded she couldn’t produce her own red blood cells and I could either (A) take her to a specialist, which they kept reiterating how expensive it would be (again assuming I don’t care or don’t have the money) or (B) put her down. I asked for 5 minutes to think about it alone with my puppy, and after 2 minuets Tori came back in to tell me that if I decide to take her to a specialist, she would die before I could even get her to an appointment. Ultimately I made the decision to end this poor puppy’s suffering and put her down. I truly feel I cared more about that puppy than this “animal hospital” did. Dr. Verwers is a joke and doesn’t care, is rude, and makes offensive and inappropriate jokes. He didn’t even come see me after my puppy was put down. He didn’t care about the animal or me. Tori is incredibly inexperienced and judgmental. This all should have come to light the FIRST appointment and the animal would of had a better chance at life. But NO, I kept coming back and they kept telling me she’d be okay and taking my money until she died. This is veterinary malpractice at its finest. NEVER EVER BRING YOUR ANIMALS HERE.

I spoke with a woman who claimed to be the manager after adopting my pet she got rude and when I asked her name she refused to give her name. I never would take my pet to a place where the people are disrespectful and hang up in your face.I would give zero stars but this information needs to be out there I adopted my pet less then 7 days ago but more then 5 and that was her reason.

We had an emergency situation right at their closing time and despite the fact that we were not a current patient, they welcomed us and provided the best possible care for us and our dog. Everyone was so compassionate, professional and we never felt rushed. Needless to say, we found a new vet that day. Will never go anywhere else!

Had to unfortunately take my sick chicken to the vet and am so thankful they got us in today. Super sweet people and very knowledgeable. This is now my go to place for my little flock of chickies and turkeys. Worth the drive. Recommend here over anything other vet I’ve used in the past.

I read the reviews before going and was very excited at all of the positive ratings. They were able to get us in a short notice. It was our first visit here. I felt that the doctor and his nurses were there for a paycheck. None of my questions were answered. The nurses were sweet but the doctor was rude and creepy. I felt very uncomfortable. I’m very disappointed and will be looking to go elsewhere.

Seriously, if you need a Veterinarian, you need these folks. Hands down the best in my book. After just one visit you'll be wondering why you weren't going sooner. Highly recommended and FIVE STAR.

We purchased a registered 8-wk. old dalmatian puppy and within less than 72 hours she was taken to an emergency veterinary clinic and diagnosed with Parvo. After that initial visit and treatment she was still a very sick girl and rapidly declining. A co-worker referred us to Dr. Craig Verwers, D.V.M. at Ridglea West Animal Hospital and I am so glad she did. They got us in quickly and recommended treatment most aren't familiar with. Lady saw them twice daily for treatment and everyone was so kind and caring. Within 4 days she turned the corner and is now a healthy, active puppy! We are so thankful for this clinic and the care they provided Lady.
