We have been going to Rickords Animal Hospital forever. There has never been a visit that we weren't treated with the utmost respect and kindness. I would recommend Rickords hospital to anyone.

Been using them for years and never had any issues until recently. Called in to get my dog seen for an ear infection and they were two weeks out for appointments and referred me to another vet. Said the medicine I used in the past was not in stock so out of luck. What’s the point of having a dedicated vet who can’t see my dog when I need it the most. Needless to say I’m looking for a better vet

We've used Rickords since we moved to the area in 2005. At that time we had 3 cats who have since passed, now we have 2 dogs. In the old days, the staff was small and we'd see the same technicians and Dr Rickords every time we came. He is an amazing vet because he takes his time and helps the animals get comfortable. He's also great about listening and asking questions before making a diagnosis. I always appreciated that they got me in quickly (almost always same day) whenever something came up. I've been a huge promoter for them to anyone who would listen for years. But unfortunately it seems times have changed a bit. In the last couple of years we've noticed growing pains: - It's hard to get an appointment now. Usually it's a few days at least, sometimes longer. Recently they recommended that I take my dog to an emergency vet because they were too busy to get her in. If they are too busy then on the one hand I'm glad they can admit it, but on the other the emergency vet cost me $700 for services a regular vet probably would have charged me 200. - Actually, it's hard to even speak to someone on the phone because they're so busy. They've got a text message service that works pretty well for simple things, but sometimes you need to talk to someone. - Callbacks are often promised but not always delivered. - Every time I call or come in it's different people. They don't even recognize us, let alone remember me and my pets like they used to. Every time they ask if we've been there before. Yes, for 16 years. - We rarely ever get Dr Rickords anymore. I will say Dr Dotson was great and I'd be glad to have her again, but most of the time it is just vet technicians, or it's a doctor we haven't met before. - When we got a second dog, they got the records completely confused and ended up giving one dog a vaccine she didn't need (it was meant for the other). That took several phone calls to try to straighten out. - One time recently we had to wait an hour past our appointment time, just for a vet tech appointment. Even then it was not fast. I expressed that I wasn't happy about the situation, and the kids working didn't seem to care. - Despite often just seeing a vet tech instead of a doctor, the prices are getting pretty high compared to a few years ago. My recommendations for Dr Rickords are: 1. Schedule more slack in the day for emergency appointments. 2. Hire an experienced manager to coordinate staff, ensure everyone is trained, and make sure you have good workers in each position. 3. Have a protocol to handle complaints. I'm confident that Dr Rickords never learned of our negative experience. We're on the fence of whether we'll keep using them and hope they improve, or throw in the towel and find a new vet.

My family has been taking our mini aussies here for awhile and have always had great experiences with scheduling or services. I recently got my own labradoodle puppy and they were informative on all the shots needed as well as providing emailed information on up coming shots. Everyone had smiles on their faces the entire time and made our vet visit quick but also not rushed to ensure the best experience. The team was extremely professional and kind.

I'm very impressed with the attentive & caring way the staff handled my brand new rescued dog, Winston. They helped him feel better and kept me informed of everything that was going on inside with him as I sat in my car outside, due to the Covid situation. They all seemed so knowledgeable and caring and was more than willing to answer any questions I had about his care. I don't think I've ever been to a more friendly, knowledgeable and experienced Animal Hospital in my 60+ years of owning pets. I feel extra comfortable and extra confident in Dr. Rickords and all of his staff at this place. I would highly recommend everyone to consider coming here for their pet's health and happiness from now on. Not only is this Hospital filled with awesome vets, it is a VERY EXTRA clean and organized Hospital, as it should be. I am so very impressed with the exceptionally clean facility inside and out. I recently quit a place I'd been going to for almost 20 years to come here. I LOVE how this place is open 7 days a week too. How awesome is that!! My former vets office stunk so bad, I could hardly take my pets in there lately...no less myself, plus I could never get in to see them because they were too booked up for sometimes several days. UNacceptable for sure! So far, I can tell, Rickords Animal Hospital is probably the wisest choice I've ever made concerning my precious dogs. I'm so glad I made this decision. THANK YOU!

They.are just wonderful people! My daughter and I both take our dogs to them for routine, medical, and boarding.

We love Dr. Rickords! So much that even though we moved over an hour away, we still come here. His staff is great, so friendly and all very knowledgeable.

Very reasonable vet clinic. We take our Dogs and Cat here. It is about 20 bucks per vaccine and once a year they'll give a pet checkup free. Wait times aren't always great even if you schedule an appointment.

They take great carenof my pup!! Arent super expensive for no reason!

Everyone there was so helpful and caring. They explained everything in detail and make sure you know what is happening.

We moved from Boat Club Animal Hospital where they wanted to charge insane amounts of money and suggested I put my pup down if we couldn't pay. I can happily say my pup is alive and well and for a fraction of the cost.

Took dog here told them it had a limp, they told me they would have to see a technician or something. Then they told me they did not see anything, but still prescribed pain medication. Why if there was nothing wrong?! Got my dog home and noticed the limp immediately! So they basically stole money from me. Now they don't even respond to me! They are a joke!

Never in my life have a come across such amazing customer service and respect in a medical setting. I was treated amazing and my corgi Taffy got everything she needed and more. They didn’t pressure me or guilt me into the extra things that they wanted to do and respected my wishes on what treatments I did want to do. They treated my corgi with such ease and gentleness. We are new patients and BLOWN AWAY with how wonderful they were treating my corgi. I won’t take Taffy anywhere else. It’s been 5 hours since the appointment and Taffy has all her medicine in her and she’s back to smiling. I’m so happy I chose Rickords and will recommend over and over. THANK YOU RICKORDS FOR HELPING SENIOR TAFFY!

I read all of these bad reviews and was worried but needed to get my pup fixed ASAP. Sarah, was extremely helpful day before surgery, upon arrival Niki was so sweet and our tech Nick took his time and explained everything to me and answered all my concerns!! We will be going back!! Thanks to all for making this easy

Always have long waits here. Not sure if they overbooked or what the situation is but it seems that everything takes a long time. The care is good and the staff is friendly but the wait negates a lot of that. Exam rooms are not cleaned well in between pets so a lot of hair on the floor.
