The staff and doctors for the most part were very nice. However they very much care more about getting a lot of money out of you than being the most helpful or educational. They always recommended the most expensive option for treatment and whenever I asked about how necessary the options were they never answered my questions. My cat almost died because they always said wait a day for each treatment so we had to wait a day for x-ray results then for test results and then for medicine then for the medicine to kick in during all this my cat hasn't eaten in a WEEK. I took my cat to another doctor and focused on specifically her issue that of not eating for so long since she was already on the verge of dying and it was a pretty simple and expensive treatment and she was better right away. If I hadn't taken her to that other place I don't think she would have made it because they were so reluctant to focus on the smaller thing first even though they said in her x-rays you could tell that she was backed up they were not worried about that and have me wasting time doing test to rule out an obstruction.

Came in on May 1 to get my dog a check up and to have him set up for heartworm, fleas, and tick medication. His dose was supposed to be delivered the 1st of every month on the day it's due for him to take it. It's now June 22 still haven't received it. Called and asked what's going was met by some work named Andrea who was very rude and completely apathetic to the situation. With the conclusion been they received all my information but never set it up because they forgot. And now they want me to take off work to come by to pick up medication because of there mistakes. Which this situation is unusual to the service that I normally receive. But it only takes one bad apple spoil the bunch

This facility is the best. The experience from the vets to the staff is beyond expectations. Gives me peace of mind that my furry babies are in good hands.

It's a good vet. I've been to a few trying to find ones I like and eventually settled here. Nurses are nice and Dr. White is very patient with my dog even though she has fear aggression. Shes very direct and doesnt sugar coat things which I appreciate but shes still nice about it and works with you on how best to provide care with your budget. I don't much care for Dr. Cox but I think that's just me, like our personalities kinda clash. If you come here ask for Dr. White. She'll take care of you.

All I have to say is wonderful things about VCA north central expressway! Dr. Cobb is a wonderful doctor who you can immediately tell loves his job and animals. He is kind and very intelligent. Dr. White is also very knowledgeable and has a driven passion for fur babies! The techs Andrea and Michelle took care of my babies as if they were theirs. They both have taken care of both my dogs for years and I honestly have had only wonderful experiences! They are efficient, polite and understanding. The reception staff is nice and helpful and they do not hesitate to ask if there is anything else I need! 10/10 vet, I highly recommend!

I am happy that my cat got better briefly after being treated recently, however a month later he is sick again, & may die...I need him to go back for another treatment or prescription, however I cannot afford the $60 or $70 it costs just to see the vet..not including the medicine he needs(which only costs between ($30/$40). I am very sad to learn that VCA hospitals offer a free first check up, which I previously knew...when I called to get my appointment, I asked about this & the receptionist hesitated...they are charging new clients $25 at the central expressway location only, & im pretty upset I was charged this considering I could have spent that on the follow up treatment he needs now...aside from that, the staff & vet were all very nice to us. Update 5 months later: My cat died a few days after I wrote my prev review, after speaking to Lindsay the receptionist, Dr refused to see my cat without paying them $82. Despite the cat already being treated there the month prior for the same thing. Instead of just letting me buy the medicine, they tried to force me to come in to get more money out of me. They could have educated me on my first visit about common cat respiratory problems, the benefits of using daily products like lysine ect,to help manage & control these kind of issues that are life long for some cats. My poor cat died because I'm not wealthy, & the people who are supposed to be there for animals are just greedy..I've learned alot about his condition since his death, no thanks to VCA for not educating me on it. I've been so heartbroken, its taken me months just to come back to this review..smh

I had to have my kitty cat put to sleep. VCA was very caring in the whole process, and genuinely tried to comfort my kitty (and me) during the process. Outstanding customer service.

Took Dakota in for his check up after his round of meds, my daughter asked if they could do a check up on her kitty Blassful(a stuffed toy) . Without hesitation, they took her back, sent photos of them checking her out. Provided her a rabies tag, toy, laser light and book about taking care of cats. Absolutely amazing people. They went above and beyond their duties.

Provided excellent communication options to my deaf mother & sister who needed an alternative plan of action for their sick cat. Poor kitty had reoccurring infection and family had been frustrated with prior vet's lack of care and little effort to communicate to deaf people. I called VCA on their behalf, explained the situation, and the vet tech said we got you, it's no problem. And it wasn't! They were very detail oriented and caring, communicated by text message to my deaf family members both during & after the appointment, and even followed up with me by phone about the care details. Took advantage of their wellness yearly plan which will be cost effective for the follow-ups needed. I appreciate every effort made!

I think VCA Central Express was very professional in the way that they redirected me to the building across the street that I should have been in which was the emergency dog hospital closer to Royal and Central I immediately found it and my dog was taken care of thank you for your professional advice and direction

Went to my first visit at VCA today for my cat on a wellness checkup. The process was easy and smooth. Staffs were all very friendly, Dr.Cobb was super helpful and answered many of my questions. Also received a little goodie bag with helpful tips and trial product. I’d recommend this place!!

Dr. Cobb and team are wonderful and I couldn't ask for a better support team for my pets. If there is health issue with my animals, he helps me understand all of my options before I make a decision. Dr. Cobb and his team are so supportive and caring with their patients.

Not pleased at all! I called around many places and were told various times each visit would be from 120 to 150 for each visit and we chose vca cause in total was 40.00 cheaper if we paid for vaccinations alone. The first set of shots were fine. They advised us it would be about 120 to 130 for shots. When we actually had the appointment we were then advised of a plan they offer for $43 a month that takes care of vaccinations or any visits with out spading and the other option of $70 a month with spading. I wasn’t too sure which to get and they advised once I pick a plan that I could not change if I later decide to spade. We paid the regular price about 120 and was going to be around that same price for second and third set of shots. Although we just brought our puppy for second set of shots and get told we either do the plan or pay $300. The plan is contract and again does not allow you to change your mind. Without telling us the prices honestly we got conned. They had already taken our puppy and did an initial well exam on our puppy and charged $80 without HONESTLY going over prices. Would not recommend!!! They conn people. Luckily I found another place and they are doing the 2nd shots for 97.00 . They said $300 was too high for the second set of shots. Located in petco.Don’t go here. Bad Business!

I highly recommend VCA. The moment we walked in we were greeted with smiling, friendly faces. Our tech her name was Alex (I think) she was really nice & explained everything to us very well. We had Dr McMaughn & she is an amazing vet. She took very good care of us & told me about recommend vaccinations for cats. In total I only paid $38 for the whole visit because my cat got a rabies vaccine. They offer free exams for new patients which is really nice. They also give you a free gift bag too! The day after our visit they even called to see how my cat was doing! They definitely go above & beyond. I 100% would recommend them to anyone. ????

I never got around to posting this last year but I thought it was about high time i did. I adopted a puppy from DAS last June, she was a sweetheart and of course i loved her to bits and pieces. When i got her I knew she wasn't super healthy so the first place i took her was VCA on a whim. They were so friendly and treated her immediately like a member of their own family. A few months later, I realized she wasn’t really growing right, I was feeding her a high quality food and she wasn't putting on weight, then one afternoon she took a turn for the worse, she couldn't keep her head up, they immediately got me in. Of course i hade to wait but they got her into a room as quickly as they could. She was 6months old, she didn't make it but they did everything they could to help her. And they were calm and understanding of how upset both me and my roommate were. I will 100% be coming back here when my new pup needs anything. I can’t thank them enough for all they did for me.

First off, if you are reading this and fellow reviews, I will say I never leave many reviews, and I've put a lot into mine below. For anyone who has left a negative review of this place, I would question them. Dr Cobb and his staff are by far the best thing that has happen to our kids (fur children). After getting zero answers from my long-time vet for my 13 year old cat (my life) for an ongoing UTI of 4 months, I decided to give Dr. Cobb a shot and get a second opinion. I’m so glad I did. The first appointment is free... but I would’ve paid double for the answers and amazing help I received. Within the first minute of Dr. Cobb and his very attentive and caring technician, Aimee, arriving to our exam room, he noticed two things that my long-term vet NEVER brought to my attention. During our exam, they were very gentle with Alle and were very explanatory about everything they were doing and testing for. They even did small things like give her catnip and calming spray to ease her nerves...things I never expected. As everyone knows, cats HATE vets and change, and they even went the extra mile to disassemble her pet carrier so she could stay in the bottom half throughout the appt to be more comfortable. Their prices are fair and the service by Dr. Cobb has me beyond willing to continue to drive 45 mins to keep seeing them in the future. Highly recommend for anyone who loves their animals as much as a child.
