Odyssey Pets Dallas, Texas

Very cool & locally owned store, with a great variety of niche pet supplies. I wandered in just to see what they had and bought Weruva cat food, organic catnip, an awesome & staff recommended cat toy. My cat Scrappy immediately hopped inside & started playing once I got home. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, which reminds me of what Whole Foods used to be like before Amazon took over. Great neighborhood store & I’ll definitely be back!

Do not bring aussies unless you want them shaved short. They took care of my babies even though one was sick. I grateful they got all the matts out and washed them, but they basically just shaved my healthy puppy. They didn't finish the sick pup which is understandable, but it'll be months before they're overcoat will grow back to where they can be groomed again. Edit in response to management: I requested a trim. See the pictures below. I was told by other groomers to make sure that stylists have experience cutting aussies but I didn't listen. I should have been more clear.. The pup that was finished, potato, had his leg fin hair removed (the hair that looks like little wings on aussies legs) and his hair is down to about a half inch to an inch all around except for random longer spots. Potato had hair ranging from 2-4 inches and now looks like a corgi. His neck hair/mane is very short. I am not an expert but I've had 4 different groomers and this is the first time my pups came back with short hair. Potato looks like a recently shaved sheep. I don't know what you mean by outline. I just wanted a trim. If they needed to be shaved because of Matts, I would have understood. I am attaching a photo of a similar australian shepherd and my dog. I can provide much more to show you last time they were groomed and pictures of them last week. My pup had longer hair than the example below. All other groomers kept the coat long. I did not realize I had to be more specific, but I will be in the future for sure. Edit pt 2: For the miscommunication of what was expected, I'm changing it to 4 stars. They were still all so nice and the store looks amazing.

Great staff! They always make us feel appreciated and cared for!

I was a long-time customer of Odyssey pets, for their products, for their grooming and for their boarding. They could not have been more accommodating with my four little rescues. I decided to move to another state and wish I could find a place that was as great to work with. I highly recommend them for the knowledge-base of their staff and owners!

Not a lot of merchandise, but a great store with specialty niche items. I drove from Plano to get a supplement they carry that other stores don't, so I will be coming back!!

This place has excellent service with a kind and knowledgeable staff. I was able to find great deals on fish tanks that were actually BETTER than prices online (including Amazon). The store is very clean and welcoming and their aquarium displays are simply charming. I greatly appreciate the fact that they still require masks amidst the pandemic. That to me means they take the safety of their employees, customers, AND their animals seriously. My only (minor) complaint is that the store specializes primarily on dogs and aquatic animals. Don’t get me wrong; those are two things I’m VERY passionate about, so I always find what I need. But if you’re looking for a specific product for an animal like a large bird or reptile, such as feeder insects, you’ll have to shop for that elsewhere or at least call in advance to see if they have a certain product of that nature available. Nonetheless, I LOVED it here. They have a wonderful selection of quality products and their fish and other aquatic animals are so beautiful and healthy. Plus they frequently host events for pet owners, which is always fun! I’d give this shop a 10 out of 5 if I could. I look forward to seeing y’all at Aquashella!

When looking for a store to buy tropical fish, I found this place accidentally and glad I did. Unlike the Pets-what ever large chain, these folks know their stuff and the tanks are in great shape.

After being a customer for almost 5 years not only for buying my dogs food ( freeze dried and expensive)but also grooming, I was never remembered, the same person would ask my name and my pets name, cant seem to keep groomers, and last visit, they raised the grooming price 20% which was ridiculous to pay $70 on a 9 pound dog, I was upset and the comment that the girl who was only there three weeks said to me ma’am I’m not the one who makes the prices! I understand it’s a business I am in the service industry as well but I would never treat my customers the way I was treated I will never go there again!

It was ok prices are not to bad on the freshwater fish.

The staff is very friendly. They groomed our dog very well. I like that there's a place for dogs to do their jobs right across from the entrance.

Not organized and poor management!! Don't recommend it.

I've been to this location three times in the last year since 2020. The three employees behind the cash register counter stayed there, and did not come out from behind the counter to check on me as a customer, in the Fish Department. Been the same experience the last three times I was there. Spend 5 to 8 minutes in the fish gallery, or the lack thereof of how well they used to keep it stocked with good quality fish.. The last three times I was in there, they didn't seem to have a knowledgeable fish care person to help, much less one that would come to talk to you see if there was anything they could do to help with your aquarium concerns, or sell you on a fish. I used to like going to this place in 2019.

Best pet store to shop for puppy

So, my puppy ,Princess Leia, got her first professional grooming here. They cut it low because they said her matting was due to her shedding or "blowing" her puppy coat. I found the explanation to be reasonable and the price just as reasonable. I kinda laughed when they charged me a whole $5 extra. Princess Leia is a Maltipoo the size of a small standard poodle. So yeah. I'm okay with the extra charge. On the other hand, my wife and all her friends were upset about the cut and "vowed to never get another dog groomed at Odyssey Pets.". That is; until the coat started growing back a week later. Now the Puppy coat is gone, and we have the prettiest show dog in the neighborhood. Even though, we regularly hang out on construction sites. Regardless of whether we're walking in the neighborhood or walking a jobsite, my happy puppy and her perfect Odyssey Pets hairdo seem to stop traffic and get tons of questions. Also my wife is happy. That always helps. Thanks for a great job Odyssey Pets. Your grooming services, "furiendly" staff and great food and product selections have always made owning a pet in Dallas very easy.

These folks are the BEST! The fish guys, Chase and Miles have taught me so much, and Chase gave me something which saved the life of half the fish in my tank. Highly recommend these guys for all your pet needs!

My husband and I have been coming to OP since 2016. There are several reasons to love this place, but what I love the most about OP is the fact that the entire team is super friendly and knowledgeable. Sherry, the owner really does care about her team and the quality of the products that OP carries in store. Best employees and good store. I would definitely recommend. Reasonable price and knowledgeable employees. I tried petsmart across Dallas and I was disappointed when I was trying to setup aquarium.

Sherry and her staff have always been so helpful and kind. They are very knowledgeable about all the products in the store and care about the well being of your animal.

I love odyssey pets because they have the best trainers, Brian in particular is an excellent resource for all behavioral training questions, and the prices (especially leashes and collars) are some of the best around. They also carry a full line of animals friendly cbd products and plenty of non-rawhide bully sticks and pizzles. Only downside is the website is not up-to-date and the sales associates do encourage the use of elk/deer antlers for chew treats, and my dog fractured her large molars on them. Was not thrilled about that but in all fairness, the antlers should come with a manufacturers warning.

Went in for supplies for my nano reef. Chase was very helpful and assured the quality of their water being RODI tds at 0. Recommend them for sure!

Adopted my kitten through Dallas Cat Lady here. She was 6 months old, spayed, and they provided all of her vaccinations. I deeply respect and admire what they’re doing for these cats to give them a chance for a good home.

Great people! Plus great selection of fish and dog food! The only pet store I'll buy fish and water.
