I would never take my animal or what I recommend this place to anyone that I know I brought my 1-year-old cat in there and they did nothing for her nothing at all they kept telling me time is of the essence then the lady told me she was …

Our experience here was not good. They are obviously under staffed. We sat for several hours and were told to go eat dinner and then return before our pet would even be seen by a doctor. We decided to leave and we are so glad we found Veterinary Emergency Group, instead, a little further south on 75. Like night and day!

Update: MedVet cannot properly care for an animal if they cannot properly assess the problem. In memory of my beloved dog, I want this to be a learning experience. Do not dismiss owners knowledge as MedVet does. Do not exclude owners from the conversation or the initial meeting with the understaffed veterinarian. We are the ones who know our dog the best. We are the voice upon which our beloved pets depend and our input should be valued and our presence not seen as an inconvenience. I brought my 9 year old vibrant dog in concerned about her constant respiratory rate of over 120 to 150 at rest for several days and I was treated like a joke. I had previously taken her to a vet without diagnostic capabilities such as labs and radiology therefore I had been directed to the ER by that vet and another vet for higher level of care. What I knew was a sign my dog was struggling was completely shrugged off by the staff and completely missed in triage. I would not trust this facility because I took my dog in for a respiratory issue for which it turned out they had *zero* understanding. They do not possess the critical thinking to decipher respiratory distress with accessory muscle use at rest from regular panting. It boggles my mind that *ER* staff also can't check an oxygen saturation. All of these "replies from the owner" here on Google Reviews saying you are paying more because you are getting more are false. You are paying more for *less* in order to pay salaries for too many corporate heads collecting paychecks. Of course the system isnt broken to them. Not only were they both short staffed on vets and incompetent in failing to recognize that my dog was dying but because of their lacking knowledge, she died a traumatic death instead of the peaceful one I would have given her. The symptoms that were dismissed turned out to be pulmonary emboli which are blood clots to the lung which happens with advanced breast cancer. It turned out she did have breast cancer as I suspected (which was actually obvious but still missed by the vet and techs after it was pointed out) metastasis to the liver (found with elevated liver enzymes that I had to get checked at another vet that listened) which affected her clotting factors and caused clots to lodge in the vasculature of her lungs. ***So my dog was there in their facility having pulmonary emboli and I was being treated as a joke.*** Ultimately, with a better hospital that did listen and did not hesitate to to labwork I did figure this out myself. Unfortunately it was too late. She did not last until morning when I was scheduling home hospice. Her traumatic death happened after we left MedVet. Her shortness of breath progressed to cyanosis (blue gums and tongue due to low oxygen). It became clear that was mobilizing larger clots to the lung (this is common with breast cancer). With the next massive fatal clot She collapsed in an instant with an arched back and a forceful cough and a painful shriek. Gypsy died. MedVet experts never saw it coming and the never listened. All I can do is try to educate and hope that in the future MedVet listens to pet owners, takes us seriously, and is willing and capable of learning from failure. Corporate medicine is not better medicine. Care is as good as the random vet and tech that gets assigned to your pet and from looking at their staff they literally hire *anyone* that will do it. They also have astronomical corporate staff costs and overhead which is what you are actually paying for, not the expertise of vets. In fact, having adequate veterinarians is where they skimp in order to pay those *many* corporate suits salaries. Good luck with your one vet. Absolutely do not recommend. Avoid. Update on communication with hospital team leadership: The clinical leader that called me was clearly being made to do so. As someone who understands hospital systems from top to bottom, it is clear to me that this is a systemic attitude that is entrenched and unlikely to be fixed. Over 100 negative Med Vet Dallas reviews and counting...

Really great doctor! Highly recommend ER doc Jennifer Cline! We were given all the options upfront before having to pay anything and they were very attentive to my pup. Unfortunately the front desk staff is very unprofessional and really quite unaware of their surroundings and the business they work at. They don’t have a working knowledge of what happens behind the doors and literally didn’t understand “X-ray results”. They also were the cause of a huge wait for my pup, however I was very pleased with the way management handled it when they were notified. We will absolutely be back, I just hope the front desk has some sensitivity training and basic vet knowledge beforehand.

I took my cat here awhile back and they wanted $8,000 upfront to help my cat. No itemized list or anything just my card # I politely declined, had to pay $150 to get my cat back and then took my cat to Dallas Animal Emergency. At Dallas Animal Emergency the prices made sense (they also included an itemized list of all the procedures and medications they would administer)and ultimately they saved my cat, they were there for me every step of the way and everyone I met there had a heart of gold. Long story short, I think this place bases it's prices off of the breed of cat/dog you have, then charges accordingly. I'd rather my vet be more concerned for my animal's well-being than my checkbook's.

I ignored the other bad reviews, please don’t! This place is highway robbery and they make you pay up front, and they don’t deal directly with pet insurance. They sent our cat home still peeing blood after a urinary blockage, and of course we had to take him back 2 days later. We won’t be coming back here.

Extremely upset with this place. I brought my cat in for an emergency visit after she has got into a cat fight. I had to tell them about the swelling on her face TWICE just for them to tell me “they didn’t notice it” they only looked for puncture wounds on her face and side temple because I told them I noticed them there. I got home today 2 days after the visit to find DEEP infected and not cleaned up puncture wounds on the top of her head, neck and spine!!! I told them she is in respiratory distress and told me that was due to being in pain but only gave her pain meds to last 8 hours and none to take home!!!! I’m very very upset my cats wounds are extremely bad and infected with a face completely swollen! I paid 209 for them to clean up “minor” wounds on her leg and a pain injection and another injection.

Amazing! I personally thought it wasn't that costly, the wait was a bit long but understandable because they only had one doctor working on so many patients. Everyone was so sweet and very clear/understanding on what was wrong. They genuinely seemed to care about one's pet. They also left a really nice note on the paperwork which was such a nice thing to do!

My cat, Thor, was recently seen by Dr. Rogers with internal medicine. I would highly recommend her. She was very kind, listened to my concerns, and answered all of my questions. I'm very appreciative for everything she has done to help my cat feel better.

There aren’t enough right words to describe Dr Cline and her staff. She is not pro- euthanasia. She won’t give up which was exactly what my baby needed. I wish I could have them all the time.

This is the only time I’ve ever used an emergency vet. I took my cat here late at night for an eye infection. It was really easy and the staff was very thorough explaining things. My kitty seemed to like the place except for the cone on her neck afterwards. They should use soft collars so kitties can eat. The price was actually not extreme as I thought it would be. The place is very fancy and large.

Cash grab. Two stars instead of one because I did feel like they know what they're talking about and if money is completely not an issue then this place is for you. There is colossal disregard for people's finances at MedVet. I brought my dog in because he had seizures. The doctors recommendation was to get going on a plan that would cost $5000 to $7,000 without knowing what would be next. Unacceptable. I took my dog home at 1:30AM to monitor him myself with the medications. Tough decision at the time, but in retrospect, it was a great decision.

After waiting for 4.5 hours, I decided to ask the front desk how much longer we would need to wait. She said they would have someone come out and talk to us, and we waited another 45 minutes with no word. We left with a sick dog, not even knowing the diagnosis. Other pets came and left during our wait. We will never return.

Even if you have an emergency DO NOT.... repeat....DO NOT ever go to this doctors hospital at MedVet. They will do nothing but laugh in your face and refuse to provide any service. First the lady at the front desk absolutely is the rudest and the most intolerant employees i have ever dealt with in any city or any industry in my half century on this planet. I was scheduled for my dog on November 8 2021. Out of nowhere the front desk lady called me today at 10 : 00 am screaming and telling me that she needs to cancel the appointment for no apparent reason because there's no cardiologist. She was lying about it. Her voice and her attitude went out of order, I was simply shocked because I had no clue what was going wrong there. Their employees are there for the paycheck and does not care about the dog's life. They have a proven history of lying to your face because they refuse to read the charts of the dogs they are supposedly taking care of. Would give 0 stars if could. Either change your employees policy or train your staff to talk to relatives. Rude, uncommunicative & lazy. Very ghetto staff members. Do not send your dog to MedVet hospital. You've been warned.

I came here twice, once last night and then this morning for my sweet 2 month old kitten. The staff here was absolutely wonderful, called me and kept me updated and listened to me cry because I was so scared. She is doing soooo much better now and I could not be more thankful for everyone here! Thank you all so much for being so kind to me and my furrchild. Zoey appreciates it too :)

These people will find anyway to add more charges and won't even perform stitches right on your animal wound opened again due to the fact that they didn't provide an E Collar when the paperwork clearly stated to use the E Collar they have provided they charged over $900 for stitches and when it opened up again they said they would have to charge another $800.00 just to restitch again and when we refused they advised since the doctor already took a look at the dog it would be 150 before we could pickup I advise anyone to stay away from this place they are after your wallet not your pet's best interest as they took 11 hours just to stitch her up in the first place and when we got the dog back her stitches were all the way open again and not the way she was when we brought her in the 2nd time she was worse!

I went to this Dallas location through the ER where my dog Dory had to spend 4 days in an oxygen cage. The entire staff is empathetic, explained the treatment plan in layman’s terms I could understand and covered cost clearly upfront. I am thankful for Dr French, Dr E and Dr Pickens and all the nurses and techs, they constantly updated me and answered my questions when I called.

THEY FORGOT ABOUT ME TWICE AND LEFT ME WAITING FOR LONG PERIODS. Took my German Shepherd pup to be examined when i saw his mouth foaming. He'd been acting lethargic too. I headed to MedVet bc my local vet's office was closed and the MetroPaws website said to go to Medvet. I checked in at 6:10 p.m. A vet nurse came to me, he said since my pup wasn't yet vaccinated, they wanted me to wait in a separate consult room, away from the main waiting area. No windows to this room. I was asked some questions and told another staff member would come get my pet's history. I waited a looong time in that room. Halfway through this wait period, I walked out of the room to check the main area to see if the couple who'd arrived after me was still there. They were, so i figured everyone's wait time was as long. When i checked again a second time they and almost all others I'd seen waiting had already been seen. I asked if i needed to be waiting in the consult room bc it felt like i was being forgotten about. The guy upfront said they hadn't forgotten, they'd be with me soon. I paced outside the room for a bit and then left the door open when i went back into the room this time. This finally got them to pay attention to me. I was soon moved to an examination room where they took my pet's history and checked his vitals. I was told someone would come administer treatment. She did come sooner than later and she was very helpful. She said someone would come soon to give me discharge instructions. I waited, but no one came. Finally i stepped out of the examination room to tell them i was still waiting and the night nurse said she'd check on that. Yes, it was night now. The woman who completed my discharge apologized about the wait, said there was a miscommunication, she thanked me for poking my head out to ask about getting discharged and also for my patience. ???? Remember, I checked in at 6:10 p.m. I finally started leaving at 10:32 p.m. I won't go back to MedVet bc of this. I don't like being forgotten about. It's rude and disrespectful. I spent waaaay longer there than others who arrived after me.

My baby opened up a cyst she has on her back. Fearing infection I wanted to have her seen as soon as possible. First impressions are important to me. When I called, the young man in reception was thorough and had such a calm tone in his voice. It helped me immensely and knew this is where I needed to take my girl to be seen. The vet technician, Cierra, and Dr. Vadell were very thorough when going over treatment and discharge. Im grateful to know my baby was in good hands at all times. You can tell they all truly love their jobs. If you are ever in need of having your baby seen for an emergency this is the place to go! Thank y'all!

Rude and thoughtless staff. We spent 4 hours in our car waiting for communication from this place. They will not let you go in with your pet. If you call them they say someone will call back. But they didn’t in a timely fashion. I finally called at 6:00 and they apologized for not getting back to me. This is not a place to take your pet. Outrageous fees. I’m still waiting on test results. Going to another vet today. Take your pet somewhere else. Your response to my review reinforces my criticism. It was a DOG, NOT a cat.

My dog was hit by a car, couldn't walk (shattered femur) and they took him to the back. We waited 3 HOURS and learned he had NOT been seen, or x-rayed, or given ANYTHING FOR PAIN. We were charged $150 and demanded our dog back and we drove to another clinic Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) on 4500 N Central Expy, Dallas, TX. The techs at Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) gave my pup a pain shot IMMEDIATELY and let us stay with him while they took x-rays and did an ultrasound. I am so happy I WALKED OUT OF MedVet Dallas and please, no hollow response from MedVet Dallas is necessary you will NEVER see me again.

I had a Neuro consultation for my 9yr old lab Tori yesterday. We saw Dr. Rich and her technician Savanah. It is always hard going somewhere new and then not being able to go in with your pet for there appointment. From the moment Savanah came out to get Tori I felt instant comfort, she was so great with Tori. After the exam Dr. Rich called me and went over everything. She spent a lot of time going over what she thought was going on and other possible problems. She explained all the treatments we could try and different options that we had. We decided to just watch her since she was doing good at this time. Dr. Rich was not pushy toward doing additional testing and made me feel it was okay to just watch Tori for now. Savanah brought Tori back out to me and said how good she did, she tends to be really nervous so that was good to hear. Thank you both for the time you took with us. Karen

I have never posted a review for anything before but my experience here made me feel it was worth telling others. I gave them any stars at all because ultimately my puppy lived and when I took him there, there was a good chance he wouldn’t due to pulmonary contusions from a fall. I’m forever grateful for that. But I definitely took stars away for lack of compassion concerning the financial side of things and minor issues with management. They initially told me they would give me a few minutes to decide how much money I was ready to siphon off for this care after giving a pretty large estimate, and in the mean time would at least start IVs and some oxygen. Then exactly 2 minutes later while I’m on my phone trying to log in to my bank they called back and demanded thousands right then otherwise they wouldn’t start the oxygen (which is all the pup really needed at that moment). Then, when I got a call later that night that he wasn’t doing well, I asked what they had given him for pain because it was obvious he was given their description, they’d given him nothing. I asked them to give him something and by the time I got there (to potentially say goodbye) he had “turned a corner and looked much better.” I shouldn’t have to be the doctor for my dog but I constantly had to advocate for him. This was even harder with these covid restrictions which we don’t even do in human hospitals anymore.
