I called to make an appointment for my cat who was displaying odd behavior. I was told that I needed to have my records sent from my current vet for Dr. Weldon to review before scheduling an appointment. After waiting a week, (apparently it takes a week to review a few pages of records), I received a call and was told that my cat was “very aggressive” and Dr. Weldon recommended he be seen by a veterinary behaviorist. First of all, my cat is not aggressive, and if she bothered to actually review his records she would have seen that wasn’t his issue. Second, why did it take her a week to basically say that she didn’t want to see him? After 5 minutes of going back and forth with the receptionist, explaining that my cat had already seen a behaviorist and we were trying to rule out a medical problem, I finally said that I would find another feline-specific vet to see him. Her response was “Well, if that’s what you want to do…” When she finally did agree to schedule an appointment (after telling me to sedate my cat at home before bringing him in), she said a credit card number was needed to secure the appointment. I did not feel comfortable giving this information over the phone, given how unprofessional and disorganized they seem to be. It seems Dr. Weldon is either trying to curate her practice to include only cats she feels are “worthy” of being seen, is inexperienced with cats who have behavioral issues (which can be medical-related), or lacks the compassion and empathy you would hope to see in a veterinarian. Luckily, there are other feline-specific veterinarians in DFW who have both competence and compassion.

This is the best place you could possibly take your cats. They are the kindest, sweetest people and will always take the time to answer any questions you have. We moved and now drive across the metroplex because THEY ARE WORTH IT.

I've been to MANY vets and Dr. Weldon is the absolute best! It's such a calm environment for my kitties who get bad anxiety getting in a carrier. They always remember me and my husband and our cats, and what I love is THEY TAKE THEIR TIME! I've been to vets where they hold the cat down, stick 'em with the vaccinations, and leave. They are so thorough and care for the kitties so well. Even though I've moved, I still come here all the time and drive the extra distance.

I have been taking my cat, Lulu, here for 14 years, and she loves the place. She gets check-up, shots and teeth cleaning once a year but more recently goes about once a year, additionally, for various ailments. Seriously, get the teeth cleaning. It has helped my Lulu have wonderful teeth. Newest member of the family, 3-year old Mimi, is also a fan. She is high stress but likes it here. They were absolutely right when they advised me that Lulu was a one cat household sort of cat, but we didn't listen and saved Mimi anyway. Although the fur babies share love for Dr. Weldon and staff, they still have no love for one another.

I transferred my cats here because they only do cats. I have been pleased with their service. I have a cat that was very sick so waiting to take her in once her labs come back from the emergency vet.

The veterinarian has a complete lack of sense of urgency. I called and was told I could likely get in the same day or with in two days with my very ill cat. I wasted my time getting all my records from six other veterinarians for this vet to review just to make an appointment. After wasting most of the week waiting to get just an appointment for help from a vet clinic I thought the veterinarians would be competent and caring enough to help, but I was turned away and couldn’t even make an appointment. Next time, don’t tell a customer you can take them and refuse after wasting their time all week. Secondly, don’t tell your customer you can do specific tests that have been requested and get their hopes up that you’re going to help. I asked up front if this clinic could do what I needed, so I they help me and they said, yes. Then, when it came down to making the appointment they all the sudden don’t do the tests I requested. I asked two receptionist if they could confirm that this test could be done and both confirmed they could. I know they both graciously asked, because I was out on hold while they confirmed this for me. That tells me the veterinarian that reviewed my cats records simply didn’t want to help or care to help. It’s unprofessional and shows you’re likely too incompetent to help anyways. You shouldn’t be in the business to help animals if you’re only in it for the money and not in it to help sick pets who are critical.

I called here when my 17 year old Turkish Van had a server UTI. He was receiving less than exemplary care from Banfield as they could not get him in to be seen for 3 weeks. Even though they filled a liquid oral medication via phone he had a horrible time getting better. He could not urinate/was passing blood as a shot would have worked much sooner. When I called here the lady who answered had the best bedside Manor/telephone etiquacy of anywhere I've called in a very long time. When he is due for annual exam/shots we are certain we will be changing vets.

Dr Weldon and Winston are passionate about their profession and it shows in the care with which they treat their patients. I moved farther away and still take my cat back to Dallas for this reason.

Amazing, compassionate and thorough service by the entire staff!! As a cat parent, taking my cat to the vet has always been something my cat & I both dread. The truth is most people with cats rarely take their pets to the vet, because it’s a hardship on the pet parent, the cat, the dogs at the vet and the harsh handling most vets & vet techs do, because they want to get you out quickly and they’re not used to dealing with our scared and sensitive cats. I opted to take Scrappy to The Cat Hospital based on their reviews here, their reviews I found on other cat forum sites and because they’re CAT specialists. When vets primarily see dogs, how can they possibly keep up with ailing treatments, preventative healthcare and be medical experts with cats? After all, cats ARE a different species. I was thrilled with my entire vet visit experience for the first time in my 20 years of having feline companions! They take the time and are so gentle, understanding the sensitivity of our little scaredy-cats!! Literally! If you’re like me, we’re talking about my best friend, Scrappy, who I love beyond a family member. She’s my welcoming committee when I come home & my therapist when life is rough. She’s my silly, goofy and entertaining side-kick at home and I would do anything for her. If you love your cat like a best friend & family member, it’s worth the drive, no matter where you live to take your cat to The Cat Hospital. Hands down, they are the BEST, and I’m picky & high maintenance about the care of my cat Scrappy. I would give the Cat Hospital 10 stars if I could.

Excellent! Very attentive and professional. They are up on current research for a myriad of niche problems. We brought out cat here for a second opinion and I'm happy to report that their treatment regimen has quickly turned our cat's health around.

This place is the best. The office is quiet and clean, so my skiddish 16 year old calico was comfy there. The vet here is very gentle and kind with the cats. They are up front about pricing and honest with what they think is best for you and your cat. I fell in love with this place and the staff really cares. I will go here for now on.

Absolutely wonderful people here. If you have a cat(s), this is the place to go for complete care. It's about an 85 mile trip for us (outside of Corsicana), but it is worth it. We do go to the local vet very occasionally for a quick problem, but for overall care we make the trip to Dallas.

This is THE BEST place to take your cat in the DFW area. I drive all the way across the metroplex to take my cats here. As someone who has lived in multiple states, seen vets in every one, this place is by far my favorite. I've learned things that as a cat owner of 12 years no other vet has informed me of. They have addressed all of my cats' issues and gotten them healthy. They can easily handle my "fractious" cat which has been a concern of mine at other vets. Could not be more grateful for everyone that works here. They are all so kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. They always call you back in a timely manor if not able to answer your questions immediately. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I am thrilled with the progress my older cat has made. Since he got the help he needed here, he is so much more active his breathing has improved exponentially. I could go on and on about how great this place is and how great the people who work there are. I am so grateful I found them. Highly recommend to any cat owner. I was recommended to this place by MedVet emergency vet clinic.

Horrible place!!!! called them this morning let them know my cat was very sick and not eating. They gave me the exam price and it would be more for lab work. Took my cat in only for them to tell me they don’t take walk in’s...

Dr. Weldon is the most thoughtful, attentive vet. Her love for cats is evident. I'll definitely be back to see her again soon as Vinny's soft paws need replaced among other things!

First-time visit was p-awesome! The staff was attentive and caring. The clinic was quiet and calm for my kitty. The doctor was extremely knowledgeable and took her time explaining everything in detail. I felt confident in her care. My cat is very happy with his new vet.

Dr. Weldon has cats, understands cats, loves cats. Besides being an excellent doctor, she is kind and caring. Our cat senses this. She presents all the options for treatment and gives practical advice, much of it based on her own pets. Best of all: no dogs allowed.

Both Dr. Weldon and her staff are always wonderful when I take my two cats there. My Persian cat Cooper seems to have a lot of issues pop up from time to time and Dr Weldon does a great job at treating the issue and arranging time for him. I recommend Cat Hospital of Dallas to all my fellow feline parents. It's a nice calm environment for your kitty, especially if they don't enjoy the vet.

Extremely patient and friendly staff. Comfortable environment. My two cats are so calm and not nervous at all. They gave me lots of useful suggestions and did answer all my questions thoroughly. Surely love everyone there. Also price is not ridiculously high and acceptable. Definitely will bring my cats back next year.

Dr. Weldon, Winston, and Mary Ann make a great team. Our 12 to 14 year old rescue cat Simon, was diagnosed with high liver enzymes. A specialist recommended surgical biopsies of the liver, pancreas and bowel. Dr. Weldon told us high liver enzymes can result from dental problems. She cleaned his teeth and he took antibiotics before and after. His liver enzymes are greatly improved (one is completely normal, the other a bit above normal), without expensive, traumatic tests. I highly recommend this veterinary practice. They are caring, down to earth, effetive, and won't push unnecessary tests on you. Simon is back to his old personality, playing with his toys and chasing his sister through the house.
