I’m a veterinarian myself and bring my almost 13 year old dog , Riley, to Dr. Gaines and Lisa (his PT nurse) for once weekly acupuncture, water treadmill, laser, and massage therapy. I cannot express how much his rehab has improved his quality of life. I am so thankful for the HEAL staff for helping keep Riley comfortable in his senior years when medication alone wasn’t helping with arthritis of his hips and neck/back pain. I have referred many senior pet parents to HEAL when medications alone aren’t enough and everyone has been super happy with their experience!

Our pup, with discospondylitis, is getting great therapy at HEAL. It's also good for us as we can get a break a couple of times a week. Hopefully, she'll recover from her paralysis. Highly recommend the good folks at HEAL.

I love HEAL so much. My sweet little dog, Peanut, had a bad experience at her old vet and has since become quite fearful and aggressive at the vet. Dr. Gaines has always taken the time to treat her with kindness. This past visit, he changed the order in which he did her exam/shots to see if it would make her less stressed, and it did! When he called me after to give me the report, he was so excited and so was I. This level of care for a patient that he sees (typically) once a year impressed me so much. I have had to take Peanut to after hours vets twice and Dr. Gaines has always been super helpful when I contact HEAL afterwards. I cannot say enough good things about him and the team at HEAL. They even comment on Peanut's Instagram account sometimes and that always makes my day! Right now we just use them because they deal with my sassy Peanut, but I am so happy to know that they have the knowledge and skills if she has any big issues as she gets older.

Our 13 year old lab, Scooby, injured his back jumping out of the car, resulting in the loss of functionality in his hind legs. Our primary veterinarian (Dr. Lufkin @ CityVet Preston Forest) recommended HEAL for physical therapy and we are so thankful she did! The entire staff at HEAL is knowledgeable, friendly, and caring. Every single person there loves Scooby; it's no surprise he starts whining with excitement when we pull in to the parking lot. From the beginning, the team at HEAL set clear and realistic expectations for Scooby's recovery and they kept in touch after every session to let us know how he did that day and what we should be working on at home. It's been roughly six weeks since his first consultation and Scooby has made tremendous progress in his recovery. He's regained use of his hind legs and is stronger after every session. We're incredibly grateful for the team at HEAL and look forward to seeing Scooby gain even more strength as he continues his sessions. Should your pet ever need rehabilitative care, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend HEAL.

Our border collie tore her ACL in January and had TPLO surgery in February. She's been seeing Dr. Barton and Katie at HEAL since then and has gained so much strength, her gait has improved, and we can tell she feels good. She has separation anxiety so we thought it would be a challenge getting her in the door each week for her session, but now she waits for Katie to come get her at the door each week. I feel so good knowing that the people inside love our girl (despite her obsession with hydrotherapy)! We love HEAL and would recommend them to anyone who loves their fur baby!

I have been taking our Pit Bull / Lab mix to the HEAL clinic for around 3 years now. We get such good care, and even with this year our dog fighting allergy symptoms severely, Dr. Gaines & team took a lot of time to help us find what will give him the best relief. Specifically, I appreciate HEAL's willingness to try treatments besides standard pharmaceuticals. We have done both; but Dr. Gaines is open to trying holistic treatments if they make sense. They have been patient, and serving well even during COVID. I will continue bringing our dog to HEAL hospital.

After getting tired of regular vets wanting to treat my dogs allergies with medication rather than figuring out the root cause, I seeked out a vet who practiced integrative medicine to be Cabelas new primary care vet. Finding Dr. Gaines and HEAL has been a god send. Dr. Gaines is by far the most intelligent vet I have ever met and he takes the time to explain everything to ensure you understand the science and facts behind any diagnoses. The entire staff at HEAL treats my dog Cabela as if she is one of their own dogs which has been so comforting during covid when she has had to go into the office without me. For anyone in the DFW area who values their pets and considers them part of their family, HEAL is truly the only option for their care and/or rehabilitation.

My dog, Ethel, began slowing down at 6 years old. My regular vet couldn’t diagnose what was wrong. HEAL did. Through extensive diagnostic testing and kind attention, they figured out that Ethel had arthritis. She has been treated through many methods — a real holistic approach — including physical therapy, the water treadmill, acupuncture, a more healthy diet, and traditional meds. Excellent care!

Called as a first time puppy owner, and spoke with the rudest front office lady named Brianna. She answered the phone and pretty much started reading off a script..after about 5 minutes of all this I tried to squeeze something in, but she just kept going! She sounded annoyed because I think she lost her place! Nothing got answered...she told me all about the $$$ but asked me absolutely NOTHING about my puppy! Went somewhere else and was so happy and grateful!

Extremely disappointing experience with this place. I spoke to them on the phone multiple times and asked every question I needed answered before making my appointment. When I got to my appointment, everything was the exact opposite of what they said on the phone. Some, complete lies. I don’t know about you, but being flat out lied to by someone you’re supposed to trust with your pet is not great. I wouldn’t recommend coming here. Go somewhere that doesn’t lie to you.

Dr. Gaines is the best veterinarian I’ve ever had the pleasure of entrusting my dogs and cat with. He’s incredibly polite, explains all options with detail, and is just overall an amazing vet. His technicians and receptionists are the best, so friendly and great with my animals as well. Enjoy every experience here.

Wonderful caring team. They understand the importance of combining Western and Eastern medicine to help pets. Practicing evidence based medicine is very important to the team.

Dr. Brittney Barton is the best vet I have every worked with in my life. Over the course of my life we have had a number of pets and lived in a number of places, so we have worked with a number of vets. She has cared for my five dogs for the last five years now--even though we moved four years ago and now have to drive 20 - 25 minutes to get there. When my eldest got sick the last weekend of December I ran him to the ER vet in Plano. They took an X-ray and ran some blood tests, told me it was blood cancer and we had no more than two weeks left. I followed up the following morning with Dr. Barton. She immediately noticed the very slight difference between the recent chest X-ray and one from six weeks earlier. Between that and the elevated WBC, she believed he had aspiration pneumonia. She sent us to Med-vet on Greenville (Dr. K was fabulous). Beem spent five days there, then came home. Two days later we were back with a complication--a secondarily developed hepatitis. Another 4 days in emergency care. An auto immune issue either developed from (or maybe stemmed) all of this and Beem's hind end was dragging and very weak. Further, the extreme antibiotics that had to be used had wiped out his intestinal system--which could lead to a repeat of the aspiration or worse. Dr. Barton put him on a rehab schedule with water treadmill therapy, cold laser, acupuncture, holistic meds and therapies including microbiome restorative therapy, and daily sub-cutaneous IV injections to keep him hydrated I think many vets would have suggested we just let him go--Beem was almost 12, after all. But Dr. Barton wasn't ready to give up any more than I was. As I watch him run around the house with the others, listen to him bark, and eat homemade watermelon popsicles, I thank God that Dr. Barton is my pups' vet.

I called in at 1pm and was able to get an appointment at 2:30pm. The staff was some of the nicest I've ever met from the front desk to the vet assistant to the vet himself. The care was first class in that it was thorough and patient and prices were very fair. I am extremely happy with my experience today.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude, respect, support, and recommendation for the team at Heal and especially Dr. Gaines. They made very difficult and painful experiences, decisions, situations less so with their attention, professionalism, and sincerity. I've dealt with many vets and many many pets with problems and the team at HEAL is by far the best I've been blessed to know. Thank you Dr. Gaines. Sincerely.

This place is amazing! They truly care about your fur baby and provide exceptional care and counsel. They've extended the life of my 16 1/2 year old Australian Shepherd by at least 2 years.

This is a wonderful vet's office! Every single staff member that I met was extremely caring and compassionate. They will give you options and talk with you so that you will understand. So glad I found these guys! They are truly the best :)

My pup gets masses all down one side. So far they've all been lipomas. Thank the heavens! We have recently moved and I'm looking for a new vet. While calling around to price out a very common diagnostic procedure that we do often (Fine-needle aspiration cytology), this office told me to book a $77 exam and then the Doctor will give me an estimate at that time. Every office I've called so far has had the price on hand, or asked/pulled it up for me. Not here. I expect transformational service from my vet office. My puppy's life could literally be in their hands. Hidden pricing and transactional service doesn't work for me. I'll pass on this clinic.

Dr. Barton is absolutely wonderful! I highly recommend her and HEAL Veterinary. They cared for our " Resee" (senior pup) for 3yrs, 15yrs - 18yrs old. She received Acupuncture & Aquatic therapy to help with mobility and discomfort from disc degenerative disease. Very, seldom did we have to use pain medication; not daily or even weekly. Majority of the Vets we saw before finding Dr. Barton, would want to treat with Prescription Pain Medication and other medications. Most did not have any other suggestions for care; only to confirm our Fur-kid was getting old. We were looking for a supportative treatment to aid in her comfort as she aged & her body started to wear down. We wanted her last few years to be as comfortable & enjoyable as possible without having to use heavy medications. Dr. Barton uses a combination of Holistic Medicine (Alternative & Complementary) with the best of Allopathic Veterinary Medicine to treat her patients. Dr. Barton takes the time needed to exam and to "really" get to know your pets (Fur-babies/kids). Dr. Barton treats her patients by examing & diagnosing the whole patient not just the ailment/issue. Her diagnoses & treatments take in the consideration of healing as a way to balance the body’s processes, measuring the outcomes of treatment qualitatively (vs. quantitatively) and tailoring the treatment to the individual and not always the condition. With doing so, Dr. Barton delivers the "Best" care for your Fur-babies/Fur-kids. Dr. Barton and her team also, helped and supported us when it came time for our Resee to make her journey to Rainbow Bridge (9/13/17). The care & compassion they gave us was priceless. And we'll forever be in their debt. We just recently adopted our Lab/Retriever Fur-baby and can't wait to take her to meet Dr. Barton for her 1st check-up. We are so very, lucky to of found Dr. Barton and HEAL Veterinary Hospital/Rehab.

This place provides the medical care your pet deserves! Dr. Gaines is hands down the best in the business. He is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and informative. He is wonderful and gentle with the pets. I really appreciate that he listens to me and truly exams my pet. He will provide you with a diagnoses and options for treatment. He even goes as far as to explain what each option is , how it can help, and then helps you make the best decision for your family. I have taken both of my pets to him and have received exceptional service. Most of all, he continues to expand his already impressive knowledge and certifications. The office is very homey and clean. My dogs are never afraid of going in for a visit. The nurses are very friendly and helpful. The office has a great mix of services they offer which allows for multiple options when making medical decisions for your pet. You can tell everyone that works here truly has a passion for animals. Every time I leave this place I have peace of mind that my dogs have received the best quality of care.

My Dog Petey treated weekly with this clinic weekly for 8 months while I was treating for environmental exposure in Dallas. I don't mind paying 75.00 more a visit for accupt than we do in CA however this is the one star. The vet is consistently a minimun 1 hr late some times as much as 3. We come back to Santa Barbara where I find that the neighbor has been spraying illegal herbicide restricted use and we both go down hard again. Petey is my therapy dog. The people at this clinic are disorganized starting at the top and down the chain. The vet is arrogant and really does not care about your pet just the big money she charges. They charged me 4 times the amount I would have paid in Santa Barbara CA for a geriatric panel. My dog is in the emergency clinic now over a week with liver cancer and I can't get them to send his medical records to myself or my vet clinic. There are many more infractions that will be address with places other than fb but suffice to say I still have not recvd the records and even got the vet med board involved. Also, I had asked this clinic if they could help me find an old country dog a home. I explained and I found him a home. 5 months later he has aggressive cancer and my friend called to see if barton could be bothered to put him down since she is such a would be advocate of the older dogs and was told it would be 3 weeks to get in. Wow. And the state of the art facility lacks MRI, CAT SCAN etc if you need these services they do everything that they can to not farm it out and bring in people. Took 2 months to get a ref to a internist and barton can't be bothered for comment. Go somewhere else and do not be fooled by the five stars. Her staff is clueless and rude and her office manager is the biggest problem just after barton

HEAL is a great resource for anyone who has a dog that requires physical therapy, is recovering from surgery, or has other geriatric issues. Dr. Barton specializes in providing veterinary care for senior pets and has really helped to improve the quality of life for my own older dogs. I have been bringing one of my dogs to HEAL for water therapy and acupuncture for over three years and feel lucky to have a specialty clinic like HEAL in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
