Good experience with Dr. Effy and staff. Just wonder why when they email me the receipt it’s not itemized, just the total. Bad way to send a receipt…

Excellent customer service. Kind, patient, and helpful, both in person as well as over the phone.

An UPDATE: Dr. Neese called me directly, within an hour of my first call and apologized for my phone call experience. That was extremely kind. I know vets and vet staff are really under a lot of pressure and they last thing they need is a complaint to deal with, but it speaks to the true concern Dr. Neese has for animals and their caretakers, and I thank her for that. -------------Original Post----------- My dog visits another vet, but has been to City Vet previously, earlier in her life, it is very close to our house. I contacted the office at 5:45 p.m. about an immediate concern since my vet was closed and it appeared this vet office was still open. My first question when the woman answered was, "Is the veterinary office still open?" As I know they have boarding and daycare, so I wanted to be sure. The woman LAUGHED at me.... I was really shocked, I wanted to hang up but needed an answer to my concern. I asked the same question again and she sighed and said "What do you need?" So I explained my issue (I had noticed blood in my dog's urine.) She did answer my question as to what my options were (though not very reassuringly) but I am still quite shocked at the conversation.

Love them here. Dr. Effie and Dr. Anthony are wonderful.

Update: CityVet called quickly to help resolve our issues. We appreciate the prompt response and their efforts to provide the best service for our family members. We understand how tough it can be to manage during COVID and appreciate their efforts. Original Post: This is not the level of service we have come to expect from CityVet or RuffIt. Our usual RuffIt was booked up, so we called this location to book our dogs stay. When we went to RuffIt, we were told that he wasn’t scheduled there, he was scheduled at CityVet across the street. We specifically wanted RuffIt so he could do day play, not sure how we were scheduled at the other location across the street. From there, checkin at CityVet took a WHILE. No one else was there. We were told they would “check us in” and then we stood there for a long time waiting. There was no formal review of food, etc like we normally have at our other location. The guy who came to grab our dog was scoffing at us and was condescending about how much food we were giving our dog (said it wasn’t enough). We landed on the amount given with our vet (who’s a vet FOR CityVet). So that wasn’t appreciated. Lastly, our dog was signed up for a bath. They never mentioned anything at drop off so I had to call back and ask if he was getting a bath and told they had no record of it and they were full so they couldn’t get him in. Overall very poor experience and won’t be returning to this location for CityVet or RuffIt.

I've been a client of CityVet - Oaklawn for 15 years. Dr Bryant was my vet for my first dog Shadow, a rescue from Hurricane Katrina. In 2016 when she was about 11 years old, I began to sense something was wrong with Shadow. Dr Bryant diagnosed her correctly even before all her symptoms manifested, and knew the best specialist to refer me to. The staff is very caring and professional. Can be very busy, and sometimes difficult to get an appointment. I would not trust my 3 dogs with anyone else.

Always a comfort to know my pet's health is in Dr. Effie's hands. Staff here consistently provide the best care!

Everyone at CityVet was so sweet and loved on my sweet girl while she had to have a not so comfy exam done on her hip. We had a great visit!

A very pleasant experience for me and my cat! Answered all my questions and didn’t rush through our appointment at all. My kitty gets very anxious at the vet and they gave him lots of love. So happy to have found CityVet- Oak Lawn!

This is my first puppy and it’s been a wild ride they treated my dog with so much love. The vet gave me so much information ( that was understandable) that I didn’t know. I truly recommend this place Bella and I will be coming here for our future consultation.

I have a pup with a lot of special needs. We’ve been going to CityVet for almost two years and everyone we’ve interacted with has consistently been amazing. So kind, knowledgable, and caring. Our primary Veterinarian is Dr. Neese. She and her team truly care for Winnie and have gone above and beyond to save her life multiple times. If you are looking for a practice that will truly care and get to know your pup, this is the place to go. I am so lucky to have found them :)

I have been taking my dog to this vet for years, and have always been so impressed with the professionalism and care they have shown! In particular, Rachel has gone out of her way to make sure I am fully in the know with anything going on with my pet and gone out of her way to take care of whatever needs to be done. Whether its a routine check up or a procedure of any kind, I couldn't recommend this team enough. 10/10

Really nice staffs. Due to the bad weather I was late about 15 minutes, I was so worried they won’t let me do it today since I drove all the way here 40 minutes. But they helped me get to see the the doctor. Dr Effie is excellent!! She was really professional. She checked everything to make sure my little bunny is healthy. And she was really patient to answer all my questions. I used to take my bunny to a place nearby where I live. But I heard they are really good here so I drove 40 minutes today . I would say it is totally worthy ! Thank you so much !

Every experience with CityVet Oaklawn has been amazing. Dr. Shelden has cared for my pup from day 1 and I'd never look anywhere else, she is the BEST. Also, all of the techs and staff are friendly, accommodating and helpful. Great place, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

My two dogs, Cuban and Frances have been going to CityVet Oaklawn for several years and they constantly and consistently treat me and my pups with the best, most caring and professional service for our standard needs. I have also had two emergencies, one for a dog bite and one for a broken dew claw and in both cases they were super responsive and helpful to get my dogs in the same day. Excellent service across the board from scheduling appointments, to check in, to the vet and tech. Couldn't recommend enough for a vet for your pets.

I had my rabbit, Tabitha, spayed at City Vet. I got a very chipper call from Heather the day before to make sure we were ready for surgery. The day of, Dr. Neese called before and after surgery to let me know Tabby did well and there were no problems. It REALLY did my heart good, as I was extremely stressed out all day. I knew she was in the best hands, but it made all the difference that they knew it was important to me, and most importantly, CARED enough to make sure I was at ease. If you need a kind and compassionate veterinarian office, please take your baby to CityVet! You will never consider anywhere else :) I know I won't!

Very professional, very thorough and answered any questions I had! I didn’t feel rushed and it didn’t seem like I annoyed them when I had a bunch of questions being a new dog mom. I really appreciate everything y’all did for me and my baby!
