These folks have cared for our animals for many years. Dr. Elbel has ALWAYS pinpointed our animals problem almost immediately- no kidding- EVERY TIME! The staff, though there are many pets/clients, always treat me and other I’ve witnessed as if I’m the most important. I love this clinic and thank them for their tireless work.

I have been a client for 6 years. My cats always receive prompt, excellent, and compassionate care from the staff and Veterinarians at Bulverde Animal Hospital.

I don't think it could have been any better. Dr. Woods returned my call personally and was able to fit me in the schedule right before lunch to see 8 puppies all at once. She was very thorough and explained everything. At the end of the visit the bill was brought in and discussed with me and I was asked if I wanted the additional labs and meds that she was recommending before being charged for them. Do to financial reasons I had to decline the labs and was not made to feel pressured about getting them. Dr. Woods and the staff were very kind and I will continue to bring my fur babies to her when needed. Thanks so much for saving my puppies.

The staff and team made us feel welcomed and accommodated our schedule change. We are thankful to have discovered a local vet for our beloved pup.

We have used Bulverde Animal Hospital since we arrived home with our little puppy 2 years ago. We usually see the wonderful Dr. Woods but everyone there has been caring and kind. We do not hesitate to recommend Bulverde Animal Hospital.

Recently had Penny and Ricky Rose taken in to get their shots. Both dread going into the vets office. The staff already realize this is a stressful situation and immediately knew how to handle a stressed pup. The work was done fast and Dr. Woods even sent me an email of results of work and testing done along with a phone call. Best service ever.

The team at Bulverde Animal Hospital is wonderful. I love Dr. Wood! She is always ready to listen when I am concerned for my animals. She doesn't push me into any treatments I'm not absolutely comfortable with. Her bedside manner with animals AND pet lovers is as kind and sweet and straightforward as you can get. On top of that, the prices are affordable, so you get top tier care without going broke AND they help you understand all the costs BEFORE the treatment so you can make choices and not end up with painful sticker shock at check out.

My dog had a really bad ear episode. Bulverde Animal Hospital was able to see him immediately. My dog has social anxiety with strangers and is difficult around others. Dr Wood and staff were excellent in their treatment and handling of him and the situation. Such a great team and staff!

Dr. Wood and staff are absolutely amazing with all our pets. From regular check ups, sick visits, and our dog with cancer. I could not ask for a more caring and competent veterinarian. Highly recommend!

DO NOT GO HERE! I took my chihuahua here since she has been having syncope episodes recently and we couldn’t figure out why. the vet came in said she’s been experiencing seizures and would not listen to us about syncope. he literally said i’m trying to be as quick and informative as possible. a good quality vet would take their time and listen to the owners and not shut them down every time they say something. i know my dog wasn’t having seizures because she’s had them before and they were completely different. he said if we refuse the medicine we should put the dog down because he doesn’t like to see dogs suffer and there’s no point having tests done on her. how rude and unprofessional. so we refused anticonvulsant medicine and we took her to a nicer er who were kind, listened, and thorough. they found out she has an enlarged heart that was giving her breathing troubles which led to syncope. she is now better and on medication. she would’ve been dead if we listened to bulverde animal hospital. she also would have a longer life if we caught it sooner but the other vet at BAH said it was a seizure too. do not take your pets here. the “vet” is terribly unprofessional and thinks he knows everything.

The vet and staff here are helpful and got us in today when another local vet would have seen us next week for a sick visit. I really appreciate the common sense approach to treating our dog and the techs care as well

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Took excellent care of my senior cat, was always upfront on recommendations and costs.

We had to put down our 14 year old doxie last week. Tough thing to do but bearable, thanx to Bulverde Animal Hospital!

Great first time visit with the staff, they took great care of our puppy!

Took my dog to this place a while back, the lady on the phone was absurdly rude. When we get there and mother mentions the awful service, the lady at the front desk becomes extremely hostile and refuses to give us our dog back! Her exact words were “I think I’ll take my sweet time”, and then proceeded to walk in slow motion while holding the leash. It was so rude it was almost comical. We almost had to call the police just to get our dog. And on top of that, the stitches that they did were horrendous, and we had to go to a whole other vet to get the job finished, paying extra money just to fix they awful job that was previously done, and now my dog has a scar that she never should’ve had in the first place. Not to mention, the other vet informed us we were overcharged hundreds for a simple surgery by these people! DO NOT take your animals here, the service is rude and these people are genuinely dangerous. If you care about your pets, you won’t come here.

My dog was very lethargic for two days and she was bleeding alot. I took her to perrin beottel at first and they diagnosed her with pyometra and said she would need emergency surgery for $2600.. unfortunately, I do not have the funds to spend that on my furr baby. So, I called a bunch of vet clinics the next day, knowing it was urgent and my dog could die without the surgery. Bulverde Animal Hospital answered and quoted me way less than that price and moved their schedule around to get my baby in. I am forever grateful for this place for helping my baby and I. She gor to come home to me the day of surgery and she was feeling 100Xs better that night! The vet himself is so attentive and caring that he called me back when I had a question in a quick manner. I recommend this place for any of your animals to receive the best care! I would give 1 million stars if I could!

The doctor saved my pit from severe skin allergies and changed our lives back to normal. He was quick to know the problem explained even down to the anatomy of her and even explained the right solution for her. She has her life back no more itching ears or paws she's beautiful again and so happy. Thank you so much guys your a life saver!

We had to put our dog down and the staff was very kind and allowed us plenty of time with our baby beforehand. They sent a sympathy card and all signed it too.

We took our dog to Bulverde Animal Hospital for an ear problem. We got booked for an appointment right away. The office staff was very friendly and caring. We came to the appointment early and we’re put in a room immediately. The vet tech was very nice and friendly. The veterinarian was professional and personable and everyone took very good care of our dog. We were given options on treatment and the cost of treatment was reasonable. I plan to use Bulverde Animal Hospital as our primary vet clinic from now on.

We moved here from Iowa, leaving a wonderful vet behind. I was so concerned about finding a good vet here, but we were blessed and fortunate to find Bulverde Animal Hospital. I have 2 Standard poodles. One is a 3 month old and I took him for a checkup after adoption. They helped me with his skin condition, and were so caring and gentle to him. My adult poodle loves them. He is not afraid when we go. They give you options with treatment and cost up front b4 you decide. VERY PROFESSIONAL and kind. The whole staff is friendly and you are taken to a room right away to wait. They are right there at your appointment time. I came from a bad situation with my other Vet. BAH is now my permanent home for all my animal care. Thank you to the doctors and the staff. Well done!!

Amazing staff that make you feel comfortable about the care they will take of your pet. I had a pet emergency and my other vet wasn't able to make time, but Bulverde Animal Hospital stepped up and made sure they were able to take care of my dog. They have been nothing short of amazing!
