Took care of me and my moose at a reasonable price

My 4 cats love Dr. Gulley for her cheerfulness and honesty plus her vet techs for their kindness! However, the front desk clerks have lately had inconsistent turnovers, some of whom are nice and at least one who’s extremely rude. We miss Maury and Magali (please forgive any misspellings)—who were long-time employees and always treated us and our animals as valued clients with warm welcomes and empathy, far from the mark of my most recent visit. One suggestion: perhaps offer for pet parents to pay upon arrival or in the exam room, so their pets don’t have to wait during discharge in the lobby; this has worked for us at other vet clinics where we’ve gone out of town. This blonde with glasses (“supervisor”—according to another staff member, Bertha) disregarded my cat’s and my comfort and convenience as a customer today. I sat down when my youngest, Lilo, was ready to be discharged, and she told me to fall in line to pay, but I’m trying to socially distance and not stand too close to customers in the narrow reception area (that I think was reduced in size to allow space for extra exam rooms). When I had a tough time accessing my app to earn “paws” points, Bertha told me that her “supervisor” said I can go home and call them when I get WiFi—but I didn’t think that was a good idea because they were about to close—so I finally loaded my app then found a QR code for a small discount and tried to give my phone for points to the “supervisor” with my lanyard attached to my neck, so when I got annoyed that she told me to remove it because I didn’t want to make hand contact and laid it on the counter, she then said snidely, “I don’t have to do this if you don’t want me to.” Since I didn’t want to stoop down to her level after her other comments about me not deserving enough points or whatever, I kept my mouth shut and left right away because my main priority was getting my stressed kitty home and fed. No need to reply to my review and advise me to call; I just hope that my remarks can encourage management to train your reception/office team on effective and efficient customer experience, especially since this business gets a heavy flow of traffic.

Awesome communication and appointment reminder/confirmation system. They were quick to see us and vaccinate my pup. Great job!

To say that I love this place is an understatement. The staff is the friendliest, the vets are the best. I brought my cat here on New Year’s Eve, short notice, and they took care of my cat and myself. If I could give them 40 stars I would and it still wouldn’t be enough.

My dog had an ear infection so we came here today as a walk-in, $60. No big deal there since most the other vets you needed an appointment and didn't allow walk-ins. They told us to be here by 7am. When we got here there were people already waiting in line. We were the second walk-in and didn't get in until 10:30 am. Not complaining just letting you know what you might have to deal with as a walk-in. Overall all a good experience.

Our dog Chip, who was only a year and a half old, was in a near death situation. We came here for emergency services to try and save our dog. The rude staff refused to see him and told us that they would not be able to help us for at least 5 hours. We then had to rush our dog all the way to McAllen for pet 911. They were unable to save him. If Boca Chica Animal Hospital had helped us, perhaps our year and a half old dog would still be with us. I’m not sure how this place calls itself an animal hospital when they refuse to treat dogs that are about to die. If I could give this place negative stars I would. I am pursuing legal action against this facility.

So far so good. We just had a yearly checkup for pups & nothing major. Everyone there was nice & good customer service. Feel like we had to wait a long time with the appointment!

Entire staff is AWESOMESAUCE BABY! While I had to wait for 4 hours, I was a last minute walk-in so no problem waiting, the service was top notch. Great experience

Our pups loved being here. They enjoyed all the attention and the staff was very gentle with them. The staff was very informative during the visit and were very patient and not rushed during the appointment.

Brought my 1 year old fur baby here for the first time! I was so amazed at how nice and professional everyone is here! The girls at the front desk and the tech that helped the dr out were great! I loved that I was able to see an actual vet (Dr strange) unlike the last place I was going to! Dr.Strange helped us out in a timely manner and was very sweet with my girl! Will continue bringing my baby here and recommending this place to everyone!

I brought my cat Peanut to the vet today. The staff are very kind, polite, and very helpful. The Dr was very professional and explained everything in great detail. Very happy with the visit. My cat is very feisty but she was well behave for the staff.

I recently took my fur baby Chiquillina Who unfortunately didn’t make it thru (parvo positive) && Dr.Strange was so helpful in explaining everything that could have happened pros and cons made sense in every word very honest.. Staff was amazing as well., will recommend definitely recommend..

They have you wait in your car due to covid. I personally like this better because I don't have to feel like everyone else is watching me.

Great staff very nice I was a walk in they told me it would be a long wait but they check on me and dog to see if we needed anything about ever 45 min. They engaged with me and made sure I knew what was going on and answered all my questions vet was also great and had patience with me.

I've been a client for thirteen years and found the vets very knowledgeable and most importantly, compassionate. I visited their new location last Friday and it was wow. The new place is very clean with an expanded staff and very efficient check in (love Magali’s positive attitude and Liliana’s humor) and check out procedure (Jacob answers the phone with a smile in his voice). The new vet (new to me), Dr. Cruz, was so nice, very calm and confident with my scared cat Marcello and he gave some very helpful preventive advice. They treated my cat Marcello so good!. I also recommend you try the very patient and thorough Dr. Dominguez and the skillful wisdom and jokes of Dr. Head (love you both for all did for my ornery Vinnie, May he Rest In Peace❤️). I've always loved this place and the people and now I love it even more. I’m updating my first review because I had another excellent two visits this week with Boca Chica Animal Hospital. Dr. Dominguez treated an injured TNR cat ((Ximena) with kindness, gentleness and quality careful examination.The semi feral cat will return for a follow up and thanks to Dr. Head, Gracie is already walking much better! By the way, the staff and all the vet assistants are very skilled and knowledgeable. And thank you for being so COVID careful of owners and pets! I’m updating my review. On 9/10/21, I took in one of our T-N-R cat group for an eye injury from a fight. Dr Kellogg was super nice in taking him in last minute and starting treatment. Upon his follow up on Monday with Dr. Gulley, she did an eye stain and found that Tuxie cat’s eye may be saved with some hard work (mine lol) and diligent treatment. She started him on Clavamox twice a day and kept Dr Kellogg’s Ofloxacin drops every two hours. The next Monday, there was significant improvement! However, I needed to keep him in for another week and continue with the regimen until return the following Monday. Tuxie may have a scar in his eye but he can see!! Dr. Gulley and Victor were awesome! Thank you Victor for your patience in answering every one of my questions and concerns and handling Tuxie like he was your very own! Here are the pics to prove his eye is healed. THANK YOU!!

We took our 12 year old Terrier mix in on Saturday for her heartworm check and to have her annual checkup and shots. Vet and the Vet tech were very helpful and explained every procedure and the results of her heartworm test and answered every question I had in a courteous and patient manner. As we were standing up getting ready to leave I saw the Vet tech spray and sanitize the exam table down which was another thing that gave me confidence. Total cost of her shots, heartworm test and 12 month supply of Interceptor heartworm chews came out to $259. Saturday appointments take about a month or more to book but if you work M-F they are super convenient. Not sure if the price I paid is more expensive or cheaper than others in the area but I felt I got great service and good value for our furry friend.
