Dr. Yu-Speight is THE top line canine eye doctor in Austin, possibly Texas.

I'm so grateful every day that I chose Dr. Yu-Speight to take care of my kitty. He had bilateral eyelid agenesis and even with the pandemic, she was so patient and informative in the video conference, explaining his condition in a way that was easy for me to understand. I could tell she cared deeply for her patients, and answered all my questions and concerns. She even gave me a call after hours the night after his surgery, which I was so thankful for because I was in panicked tears when my Houdini of a kitty escaped his cone! Without hesitation, she told me to bring him in the next morning so they could modify it just for him and told me how I could help him in the meantime. The folks that work at the center are also incredibly wonderful; Yvette and Ana answer the phone with professionalism and care, and Jennifer was wonderful bringing my kitty back to me and walking me through medication care. It's obvious everyone at this center puts your pet's care first and wants you to feel comfortable and informed. I cannot recommend this center enough. Thank you everyone who teamed up to care for my Frisk! ????

Dr. Yu Speight cares so much about her patients. My dog is a complete lemon and has so many other issues, making him not very good at healing. His ulcer was frustrating but she was patient and always discussed all the options for treatment. She was honest when things weren’t going well and she celebrated with us when his eye beat the odds! He still has his eye because of her!

Dr. Yu-Speight and her team set us at ease right away! Since we are fulltime travelers, living on the road with our puppy dog always worries us when it's time to find a vet, not to mention a veterinary eye specialist. We searched all over, from Nashville to San Antonio, and we could not have been happier with our experience with Dr. Yu-Speight. Highly recommend her patience, enthusiasm and desire to provide us with the best possible care.

I believe excellent care but at a steep price!! I believe the doctor is very well qualified and is NOT STINGY with the amount of time she spends with the patient and parents!!

Was referred by my vet for an emergency eye injury , the would not see me for over 3 weeks , I was not offered a zoom and I had to get my records faxed before they would even tell me that . Totally umcompassionate and uncaring, if you need immediate help don’t bother with them they could care less

Dr. Audrey is awesome and has worked us in for emergent care and helped save our rescue dog’s cherry eye gland and his eye from the associated trauma. We highly recommend her for any eye procedure!

Our dog has been on eye medication since he was 4 when he had early onset cataracts. They saved his vision and now he is 14 and is seen regularly. They love him, treat him well, and have take good care of him for 10 years. They also noticed when he was lethargic and suggested blood work and saved him again with their keen observation.

I've been dealing with an eye issue in my kitty since December which ended up requiring the bad eye being removed yesterday. Everyone here has been amazing the entire time and taken great care of my Gil and helped me deal with all of this. I cannot recommend them enough. 10/10.

They really care about your pet and are very knowledgeable and experienced. They have kept my babies going despite all their health issues. They helped me to find out about and have diagnosed, the underlying issues too. Love the staff here. Thank you Dr. Yu-Speight.

Our cat had a tumor in his eye that grew really fast. We had to remove his eye to save him. 5 years later he is now 15 years old and still going strong. He is happy and we are happy cause she was awesome at her job. Highly recommended!

I've gone back and forth about posting a review. In the end I felt it was only fair to other animal lovers to know about my experience. I moved from the DFW area and needed a new eye doctor for my dog. She has retinal detachment in one eye. Since diagnosed, I administered 2 eye drops twice a day. Upon my initial exam, my meds were increased to 4 medications, (serums and drops), 4 times a day. Of course, no problem I'll do whatever I need to do to make sure my dog isn't in pain. Second visit I was told surgery was inevitable and it's better to do the surgery when the dog is younger. So, I scheduled the surgery. Side note, last time my dog had surgery she reacted to a medication after surgery, waking up so I was quite terrified of putting her under again. A few weeks later, we were at the groomers. The groomer said she had dogs all the time that had retinal detachment and encouraged me to get a second opinion. While I'm not going to name the new docto, he has been incredible. Not only does my dog not need surgery but the medications were reduced to once a day!! Even better??? I swear her eye looks better and she's happier. That's my story. While the staff was very nice & professional, I wouldn't go to this doctor again if someone offered me a winning lottery ticket.

We love Dr. Yu-Speight. She has been caring for my dog's eyes for almost 10 years now. She knows exactly what she's doing and always does what is in the *dog's* best interest - she is a true advocate for dogs, and it's heartwarming to see. Staff has been excellent also - very interested in what they are doing and ready to help. She tries to run a tight shop, so don't be late or you'll be waiting a while.

It's been a long time since I found a doctor so vested in my dog's health. Kind, patient, caring, thorough. Taking time to explain in details and provide options with well documented summary and instructions to guide your continued home care. If your beloved pet has any eye issues, natural aging, dry eye, cataracts, glaucoma, etc., this is the place you want to call. Your pet will thank you and you will not be disappointed.

my boy Alfie (shih Tzu) has had ongoing eye issues for a long time. His eyes itch so bad so he rubs up against whatever is near. His regular doctor said that he needs to see a specialist. I tried to get him in to see Dr. Yu but she was off for the month. But i eded him to be seen so I took him to a different place.BIG MISTAKE and waste of time and money. That doctor did the exact same thing that Alfie's regular doctor did but I had to pay the $150.00. He spent maybe 10 minutes with us. When I was able to bring My boy to see Dr. Yu-Speight I was so impressed. she sent so much time with my little guy and explained what she was doing and what we need to do next. she did such a great job I started to see a big improvement and was so happy and could see that ALfie was feeling back to his regular happy silly self. Sad thing happened. while I was at work he did something and now his right eye is back to the beginning. I took him to see his regular doctor and she did an eye stain. He scratched it again. Thank goodness we have Alfies follow up appointment next Friday. I am not sure what we can do at this point. Alfie now wears his cone when I am at work. This is no way for my baby to spend his days. He really hates his cone of shame but its what we have to do hopefully for just a short time. I highly recommend Dr. Yu and her staff. They know what's up. The one negative thing I can say is that they never even called to do a follow up after our first big appointment, this really means a lot to me and kind of shows that they do care. So I was a bit turned off by that
